In this tutorial series, I will show you how to model a complex bottle and render it in Redshift.
We will model the bottle with a non destructive way, which will make it quite easy to change the displacement amount or bevels, so it is gonna be really flexiable.
In the render parts, I will break down my process of creating materials and light scene.
1 - Modeling ( 40 Minutes )
In this part, I will show you how to model a bottle in an effective and fast way. I will also be using deformers and selections to make the model as precise as possible, such as displacement deformers and bevel deformers.
2 - UV Unwrapping ( 25 Minutes )
In the UV unwrapping part, I will show you how to unwrap cylindrical shapes and make them ready to be textured in Photoshop.
3- Rendering ( 38 Minutes )
In this part, we will start to build up the light scene and materials. Most of the materials except for the label one will be created in this part.
4 - Finalising Rendering/creating the front label ( 42 Minutes )
In this final part, I will show you how I created the label material. I will break down my process of creating layers (bump, glossy, specular, diffuse) and finalize the project by creating a new render layer ( Takes System ) to have multiple render settings, cameras, and materials in a single scene.

Mesh Setup
We start off the course by preparing our mesh for simulations and growth FX. Using various SOP level tools we are going to be rebuild the mesh with hexagon shaped polygons.
Growth Simulation
Using the SOP Solver we're going to create a simple growing attribute which will drive the scale and various color attributes for the polygons
Particle Simulations
We're going to create multiple layers of particle simulations. Some will be driven by custom velocity forces created with pyro, and some with standard POP tools. We're also exploring a lot of post-simulation operations to further art direct movement, color, and other attributes.
Lighting, Rendering & AOVs
In the rendering sections we will set up all of the lights and materials, and render everything using Redshift.
Compositing
In nuke we will bring all of our renders and start putting everything together.
We will separate the AOVs for each layer so we can have complete control over the final output.

Question: “Generative Fill” and “Generative Expansion” do not work for me. Is it possible to somehow solve this issue?
Answer: After beta testing of Firefly AI ended, Adobe developers decided to tighten the screws. Currently, only people who have actually paid for a subscription can use generative tools. And even then, they have restrictions on the number of generations. Also, generative tools can be used during a free trial period of 7 days. That is, if you really need generative tools, then register a new ID on the Adobe website and log in to the program using the Help->Sign In menu. After 7 days, register a new ID. And so on until you get tired of it. There are no other ways, unfortunately.

Creating the Geometry
In this course we will be creating a mechanical sci-fi reveal from start to finish
We will create all the geometry inside Houdini, using various procedural techniques and some non-procedural methods as well.
Designing FX
The main driver of this growth effects will be generated with particles. We will various vex functions such as volumesample, quaternions, cross products and also talk about how to set up timers to have complete control over the particles.
Rendering
In the rendering section, we will be using Redshift to create all the passes. We will set up all the materials with the textures that you've been provided with, and then take a look at creating custom AOV's and exporting different attributes and textures as separate passes.

Fracture
We are going to start this course by fracturing our Hand geometry using voronoi and boolean techniques.
Procedural SOP Setup
After we create our fractured pieces, we are going to set up the assembly animation entirely at the SOP level.
Custom Particle Movement
After we set up the geometry assembly, the other layers will be created in more of the traditional way, with the help of solvers.
Lighting, Rendering & AOVs
In the rendering sections we will set up all of the lights and materials, and render everything using Redshift.
Compositing
In nuke we will bring all of our renders and start putting everything together.
Relighting
We will use the Bump Normals and World Position AOVs to relight our shot and extra rim detail on the subject.
Fog Particles
We're also going to use Nuke's particle system to create an additional fog layer to create a more interesting look.

Welcome to Advanced Destruction Series: Lightning Strike
Creating the terrain
We will be creating this entire scene in Houdini from scratch, including all the effects, geometry, and compositing.
Lightning FX and Rays
For the lightning we will create the geometry in various ways. We will use a combination of POP simulations, copy to points techniques, and attribute vops to have complete control over the lightning.
From our fractured pieces we will create some volumetric rays to add on top of the lightning.
Debris Smoke and Dirt
And finally we will use our fractured geometry to create the smoke debris and another layer of particles which will essentially act as dirt.
Render and composite
In the rendering section I will go over how we can setup different renders for each layer that also contains AOV's, to have complete control over each of our elements.

Vellum Cloth
In this 6 hours course you will learn how to create energy FX, explosions, cloth simulations, and even creating environments and secondary effects. Using Vellum we’ll be able to art direct cloth movement.
I’ll show you how to create a simple smoke simulation to drive the flying of the cape.
Energy FX
The energy and blast FX are achieved through a combination of Pyro and POPs. Leveraging the divergence field and creating custom velocity fields, we’ll be able to art direct simulations.
Rendering
In the rendering section I will show you how to set up all the materials, lights, render passes and AOVs. We’ll go over various tips and tricks over how to best set up custom passes and optimize scenes for speed.
Compositing
The second half will be compositing in Nuke. We bring each layer in one by one, starting from the environment and all the way to the FX.
