But you are correct that HOT was not sold into the US during the ICO and has never been listed on a US exchange. All of what you are seeing now is the reason. Anything that is not yet convertable into active use as a utility is seemingly considered a security instead of a prepayment for services in the US.

We’re staying connected with the right people and we’re communicating with folks in the policy circles as well, but we’re not activating anything related to our token in the US just yet. We’ll have a lot more to say about all that once the Holo network is full-feature.

Our regular updates share about the roadmap progress and our recent HoloPort Alpha program announcement was precisely because we’re reaching new milestones and needing more HoloPorts active for our test network.

I'd also say Holo is the safest non pure payment crypto from a regulatory viewpoint since Holofuel being an accounting system with no tokens, or rewards, gives the HOT used to buy fuel clear utility whenever it launches while all the regulatory dust settles over the next decade.
