ترامب امر نتنياهو بان يقضي على غزة ، لانه يريد ان يتفرغ لملف ايران وحزب الله والحوثيين عند قدومه للرئاسة..
وقال لنتنياهو ان العملية كلما تطول في غزة فان سمعة اسرائيل تصبح اسوء على مستوى العالم، لذا فان عليه ان ينهي الموضوع بضربة قوية تسرع، ملمحا الى ضرورة استيلاء اسرائيل على غزة ، وان ترامب سوف يعترف بها كما اعترف بالقدس والجولان ..

وسبق ان توسطت إدارة ترامب في اتفاق بين الإمارات والبحرين لتطبيع العلاقات الدبلوماسية مع إسرائيل في الواقع اعترفت هذه البلدان بإسرائيل للمرة الأولى. في الوقت الذي شكلت فيه هذه الخطوة خطوة كبيرة نحو خفض التوترات وتوسيع العلاقات التجارية مع جيران إسرائيل العرب، ووصف ترامب نفسه بأنه دافع عن إسرائيل كرئيس، وشكره نتنياهو على كل الأشياء التي قام بها. بالنسبة لإسرائيل، أدرج نتنياهو الإجراءات التي سعت إليها إدارة ترامب منذ فترة طويلة من قبل الحكومات الإسرائيلية بإعلان سيادة إسرائيل على مرتفعات الجولان التي تم الاستيلاء عليها من سوريا في حرب عام 1967، والسياسة الأمريكية الأكثر صرامة تجاه إيران، وإعلان ترامب أن القدس عاصمة لإسرائيل، وهو ما يخالف السياسة الأمريكية القائمة منذ فترة طويلة والتي تقضي بضرورة وضع القدس الشرقية بوصفها عاصمة لفلسطين.
قال ترامب لشبكة فوكس آند فريندز يوم الخميس إنني استمتعت بالاعتراف بإطراء نتنياهو، لكنه استمر في انتقاد الحرب الإسرائيلية التي أودت بحياة أكثر من 39 ألف فلسطيني، أريده أن ينتهي بسرعة. وصرح ترامب في مقابلة يوم الخميس أنكم أنجزتم الأمر تقريبًا، اكملوا المتبقي، لأن سمعتكم أصبحت سيئة.
