WEEKLY DEVOTION

THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." John 14:26

The Holy Spirit is God's gift to believers, a constant presence and helper in our lives. In John 14:26, Jesus promises that the Holy Spirit will teach us and remind us of His words. This divine presence empowers, guides, and comforts us as we navigate our spiritual journey.

The Holy Spirit's role is multifaceted. He is our Advocate, interceding for us and providing the strength we need to live out our faith. His presence in our lives transforms us, producing the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 1:8

The Holy Spirit empowers us to be witnesses for Christ. Through His power, we can boldly share the gospel and demonstrate God's love to the world. This empowerment is not just for extraordinary moments but for our everyday lives, enabling us to live in a way that honors God and reflects His character.

The Bible encourages us to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). This means continually seeking His presence and guidance, allowing Him to lead us in all we do. As we yield to the Holy Spirit, we experience a deeper intimacy with God and a greater effectiveness in our life.

The Holy Spirit also brings us into deeper fellowship with God, making His presence real and tangible in our lives. Romans 8:16 says, "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children." This assurance strengthens our faith and fills us with the peace and joy of knowing we belong to God.

Meditate the Word

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you."
John 14:16-17

³⁸ ሲሄዱም እርሱ ወደ አንዲት መንደር ገባ፤ ማርታ የተባለች አንዲት ሴትም በቤትዋ ተቀበለችው።
³⁹ ለእርስዋም ማርያም የምትባል እኅት ነበረቻት፥ እርስዋም ደግሞ ቃሉን ልትሰማ በኢየሱስ እግር አጠገብ ተቀምጣ ነበረች።
⁴⁰ ማርታ ግን አገልግሎት ስለ በዛባት ባከነች፤ ቀርባም፦ ጌታ ሆይ፥ እኔ እንድሠራ እኅቴ ብቻዬን ስትተወኝ አይገድህምን? እንኪያስ እንድታግዘኝ ንገራት አለችው።
⁴¹ ኢየሱስም መልሶ፦ ማርታ፥ ማርታ፥ በብዙ ነገር ትጨነቂአለሽ ትታወኪማለሽ፥
⁴² የሚያስፈልገው ግን ጥቂት ወይም አንድ ነገር ነው፤ ማርያምም መልካም ዕድልን መርጣለች ከእርስዋም አይወሰድባትም አላት።

WEEKLY DEVOTION

HUNGER FOR GOD

"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?" Psalm 42:1-2

The yearning for God is a deep, intense longing that fills the soul with a desire for His presence. Just as a deer longs for streams of water to quench its thirst, our souls crave the living God to fulfill our deepest needs. This hunger for God is essential for a vibrant and dynamic spiritual life. The Bible tells us that those who seek God with all their heart will find Him. Jeremiah 29:13 "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Many people search for satisfaction in worldly pursuits and material possessions, but true fulfillment comes only from a deep, personal relationship with God. He desires to fill our hearts with His love, wisdom, and peace. The Bible encourages us to seek God earnestly, promising that those who hunger for Him will be blessed and satisfied.

“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.”
Matthew 5:6 MSG

A profound hunger for God drives us to spend quality time in His presence, to listen to His voice, and to follow His guidance. It is this longing that deepens our faith and strengthens our relationship with Him.

"O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water."

Fasting Day #1

              መንፈሳዊ ረሀብ

✍️ እግዚአብሔር ሊጠቀምብን የሚችለው በረሀባችን ልክ ነው።

✍️ የረሀባችን ጥልቀት የምንወጣበትን ከፍታ ይወስነዋል።

✍️ ረሀብ ታሪክ ያሰራናል።

✍️ እግዚአብሔር ተፈልጎ የሚገኝ አምላክ ነው።

“እኔ የሚወድዱኝን እወድዳለሁ፥ ተግተው የሚሹኝም ያገኙኛል።”
  — ምሳሌ 8፥17

✍️ እግዚአብሔርን መራብ መንፈሳዊ ጤንነት ነው።

✍️መንፈሳዊ  ረሀብ ከሌለን የሞትን ነን።

✍️ ረሀብተኞች ከእግዚአብሔር መለኮታዊ ጉብኝት አይጎድሉም።

✍️ እግዚአብሔርን እየተራብን ስንመጣ እግዚአብሔር ለትልቅ ነገር እያመነን ይመጣል።

✍️ እግዚአብሔርን መራብ የህይወት ውሀ ወንዝ ከውስጣችን እንዲፈልቅ ያደርጋል።

“መንፈሱና ሙሽራይቱም፦ ና ይላሉ። የሚሰማም፦ ና ይበል። የተጠማም ይምጣ፥ የወደደም የሕይወትን ውኃ እንዲያው ይውሰድ።”

³⁸ በእኔ የሚያምን መጽሐፍ እንዳለ፥ የሕይወት ውኃ ወንዝ ከሆዱ ይፈልቃል ብሎ ጮኸ።

ነገም የጠዋቱ 3 ሰዓት ጀምሮ የፆም ፀሎት ጊዜያችን ይቀጥላል።
