Japan protested Russia’s extradition requests for ICC President Tomoko Akane and eight other officials, calling the measures “unjust and unacceptable.”

Moscow issued warrants for the nine officials following the ICC’s 2023 arrest warrant for Putin over alleged war crimes in Ukraine. A Russian court sentenced them in absentia last year.

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi criticized the sanctions, reaffirming Japan’s support for the ICC and pledging to continue engaging with Washington.

French Presidential Candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon:

The mentality of European leaders is rotten with Atlanticism. They continue to think that the old world still exists.

The old world died with tariffs.

Free and undistorted competition and neoliberalism, which dominated the late 20th and early 21st centuries — all of that is over.

I settled 8 WARS, am close to ending or settling 2 more, got all of the Israeli hostages back, including the final 28, both living and dead, had hundreds of hostages, from countries all over the World, released and sent back home, won a war in Venezuela, and captured the violent dictator who so viciously ran that country, and stopped the number one state sponsor of terror, the Islamic Republic of Iran, from obtaining a Nuclear Weapon — AND MUCH MORE!

Yet, with all of that I, or the United States of America, did not get the Noble Peace Prize. WOW!

And I said openly: Help us defend our skies and dominate them. And then Putin will sit down at the negotiating table.

Why? Because he will lose everything. Lose everything. Three months, two months — he will lose everything.

Q: Amid increasing congressional scrutiny of Ambassador Guilfoyle’s tenure here, I’m wondering, Mr. Secretary, if you’ve personally reviewed some of those allegations and are confident that all is in compliance with State Department ethics.

Marco Rubio: This is not the forum where we’re going to address that. As simple as that. Suffice it to say, our embassy here is doing a great job.

Our ambassador has been a strong ambassador here. The questions you’re asking me, we’re not addressing those at press conferences in Greece with a foreign minister, in another country.

U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle boasted about luxury trips funded by Greek businessmen, according to an audio recording.

At Davos in January, Guilfoyle said she flew on a private jet with Alexandros Exarchou, CEO of Aktor Group, whose business interests she had promoted to foreign governments. She also described traveling with shipping tycoon Nikolas Tsakos, who reportedly paid for her stay at a luxury Paris hotel.

The recording also captured Guilfoyle angrily demanding an invitation to a dinner attended by Eric Trump and promising an American businessman she could make him “a lot of f—ing money.”

The revelations follow allegations that Guilfoyle asked a Trump donor for $100,000 to cover credit-card expenses in exchange for assistance with legal and tax matters.

The State Department’s inspector general is investigating whether she accepted improper gifts or favors, while Trump administration officials are discussing her possible removal.

Germany’s Chancellor Merz:

In the state election in Saxony-Anhalt, voters gave the AfD and the BSW, two authoritarian and extremist parties, a combined absolute majority for the first time.

It was a secret ballot. We do not know who exactly gave their votes to the AfD candidate.

How and whether this secret ballot can ever be clarified remains to be seen.

But for me, one thing is clear: Anyone who votes for a member of a far-right extremist party to become president of the state parliament must reconcile that with their conscience.
