The footage appears to come from an aerial reconnaissance drone and shows what he says is a group of Houthi rebels discussing an upcoming attack. A strike is seen in the video, which appears to kill at least 40 fighters.
Reports from the ground indicate that up to 70 people were killed, including senior Houthi commanders and Iranian Revolutionary Guard "experts." The strike likely took place south of the al-Fazah coastal region in Yemen's Hudaydah province.
This comes as CNN, citing Pentagon sources, reports that the total cost of the US military's operation against the Houthis is nearing $1 billion after roughly three weeks. It also follows the Houthis taking down another US drone.
(The ships that were sunk that he is referring to are the commercial ships that were lost to the Houthis)

Читать полностью…In 1882, the notorious American outlaw Jesse James met his end in a dramatic and unexpected way. On April 3rd of that year, Jesse was at his home in St. Joseph, Missouri, living under the alias of "Mr. Howard" to evade the law. He had been a wanted man for years, leading the James-Younger Gang in a string of robberies and evading capture with a $5,000 bounty on his head. That morning, Jesse was in the company of Robert Ford, a newer member of his gang, and his brother Charley Ford, who had been staying with Jesse and his family.
The day took a fatal turn when Jesse, perhaps feeling the heat of the Missouri summer or simply adjusting his surroundings, removed his coat and guns—something he rarely did due to his constant need for vigilance. He then climbed onto a chair to straighten a picture on the wall, turning his back to the room. Seizing this rare moment of vulnerability, Robert Ford, motivated by the promise of reward money and possibly a pardon, drew his revolver. Without hesitation, Ford shot Jesse in the back of the head, killing him instantly. The bullet entered just behind Jesse’s right ear and exited above his left eye, ending the life of one of the most infamous figures of the American West at the age of 34.
Ford’s betrayal marked the end of Jesse James’s reign as an outlaw, and the event quickly became legend, cementing both James’s and Ford’s names in history—Jesse as a folk hero to some and a criminal to others, and Ford as the "dirty little coward" who brought him down.

An Amherstburg resident is calling for the town to take action in response to an “offensive” display on a neighbour’s lawn.
Judy Carney has complained to the town about the phallic-shaped sculpture only to be told there is nothing Town Hall can do.
Placed upright, the approximately 4-foot-long statue is clearly visible from the street of the quiet neighbourhood.
“I’m sure lots of people are going to laugh when they see this because it’s a bit shocking. I don’t think after two months it’s funny,” Carney said.
Carney says she and several other area residents have filed complaints to the town over the sculpture.
The design, which they describe as lewd, could be seen by the many students who pass through the area, Carney worries.
“I mean, this is a school-busy road. It’s got school busses, elementary and secondary [school busses] going up and down. The only Transit Windsor bus that comes to them goes past this house four times a day,” Carney told CTV News on Wednesday morning.
CTV News knocked on the door, but the person inside the home declined to comment.
In an interview, Michael Prue, the Mayor of Amherstburg, told CTV News the municipality lacks the powers to demand the statue be removed.
“There is nothing illegal about it at this point,” Prue said.
The town would require a bylaw to restrict certain art displays from being mounted on properties. Amherstburg plans to consult other municipalities to find a solution.
“It’s in poor taste and if his neighbours want him to take it down, the neighbourly thing to do is to take it down,” the mayor added.
While some residents are taking issue with the statue, one neighbour felt the backlash is unwarranted.
“It’s their property. They can do whatever they want. That’s really my opinion,” said a resident who identified himself as Jason.
Fearing the often-lengthy process to introduce a new municipal by-law, Carney has an alternative compromise.
“Lay it flat. It’s like a patio stone,” she pitched. “They could lay it on the ground and still have it in their yard, and it wouldn’t be upsetting people in the community.”
While it could be a long road ahead to see a resolution, Carney hopes the homeowner will change their mind.
“It is offensive to most people and at courtesy to be a good neighbour. Just take it down,” she said.
Iran
Iran has ordered military personnel to leave Yemen, abandoning its Houthi allies as the US escalates an air strike campaign against the rebel group.
A senior Iranian official said the move aimed to avoid direct confrontation with the US if an Iranian soldier was killed.
Calculation behind US-Tariffs
The percentage rates of the "counter-tariffs" were calculated based on the US's trade deficits with the respective countries and divided by the imports from the respective country, which was then halved to create the appearance of a "discount."
US imports of goods from the European Union totaled $605.8 billion in 2024. The US trade deficit with the European Union totaled $235.6 billion in 2024. $235.6 billion in relation to $605.8 billion = 38.9%. This, purely mathematically, works out to a value of 39%, which the EU has allegedly imposed as a tariff on the US (absolute nonsense). And based on this, Trump is "generously" giving a 50% discount and imposing a 20% tariff on the EU.
According to the U.S. Trade Representative, U.S. imports of goods from China totaled $438.9 billion in 2024. The U.S. trade deficit with China in 2024 was $295.4 billion. 295.4 billion in relation to $438.9 billion = 67.3%. This gives Trump a 67% estimate of the Chinese tariffs against the U.S. 50%.

There was a small bang within the vehicle and a fire followed
The only person injured was the suspect who got out of the vehicle, partially in flames, and wandered about on fire until law enforcement was able to get an extinguisher and put the fire out.
Dutch police say that the suspect is a "Dutch citizen", though eye witnesses were reported as saying those nearby heard a "foreign phrase" before the bang.

This here shows one of the major problems of GDP: it is no longer able to predict how well-suited a nation is for war (in contrast to the original meaning of GDP).
Europe outperforms Russia massively in terms of GDP, but having millions of HR ladies does not win the war. Producing steel, ammo, and tanks is what wins a war. And here, Russia outperforms the EU right now.

A 7.2M quake hit off at the coast of Papua-Newguinea
On December 30, 1952, Albert Gunter, a bus driver operating the number 78 bus on its usual route from Shoreditch to Dulwich, found himself in an extraordinary situation while crossing Tower Bridge in London. It was a cold, dark evening, and as Gunter drove the double-decker bus at a steady speed of about 12 miles per hour, he suddenly noticed the road ahead beginning to tilt upward. Unbeknownst to him, the bridge’s bascules—the movable sections that lift to allow ships to pass—had started to rise due to a failure in the warning system. Typically, a watchman would ring a bell and close the gates to stop traffic, but on this occasion, a relief watchman neglected to do so, and the traffic lights remained green, giving Gunter no indication of the impending danger.
Realizing that the southern bascule beneath his bus was lifting and that stopping might cause the vehicle to slide backward into the River Thames, Gunter made a split-second decision. Drawing on his experience as a wartime tank driver, he downshifted two gears and slammed his foot on the accelerator, propelling the bus forward. The bus surged up the rising incline and launched across the gap to the northern bascule, which had not yet begun to lift, landing with a jolt. Remarkably, Gunter successfully cleared the distance, saving the bus and its 20 passengers from a potential disaster.
The size of the gap Gunter jumped is described variously in accounts as being between three and six feet wide at the moment of the leap. This range reflects the fact that the bascules were in motion, with the southern side rising faster than the northern side, creating a sloped but manageable distance for the bus to traverse. The successful landing on the flatter northern bascule minimized the drop, though the impact was still significant, resulting in minor injuries to some passengers and a broken leg for Gunter himself. His heroic actions earned him widespread praise, a £10 reward from London Transport (equivalent to about £350 today), and additional recognition from the City of London, including £35 and a family holiday.

If you're unaware, four American soldiers died during a routine training exercise in Lithuania when their armored recovery vehicle sank into a bog near the town of Pabradė, close to the Belarus border. The soldiers-part of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division-were on a mission to repair and tow a disabled tactical vehicle when they went missing on March 25th. After an intensive week-long search involving US, Lithuanian, and Polish forces, their M88 Hercules was recovered from the swampy terrain.
The four soldiers who lost their lives have been identified as Staff Sgt. Troy S. Knutson-Collins, 28, of Battle Creek, Michigan; Staff Sgt. Jose Duenez Jr., 25, of Joliet, Illinois; Staff Sgt. Edvin F. Franco, 25, of Glendale, California; and Pfc. Dante D. Taitano, 21, of Dededo, Guam.
In a statement, Maj. Gen. Christopher Norrie, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division, said, "This loss is simply devastating. These men were honored Soldiers of the Marne Division. We are wrapping our arms around the families and loved ones of our Soldiers during incredibly difficult time."

Читать полностью…The Falklands War began on April 2, 1982, when Argentina, under the leadership of its military junta, invaded the Falkland Islands, a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic. Argentina had long claimed sovereignty over the islands, which they call the Malvinas, citing their proximity to the Argentine coast and historical ties, while Britain maintained its claim based on continuous administration since 1833. The immediate trigger came after rising tensions and Argentine frustration over stalled diplomatic talks, prompting the junta, led by General Leopoldo Galtieri, to launch a surprise amphibious assault to seize control, hoping to bolster national pride amid domestic unrest.
Britain, under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, responded swiftly by assembling a naval task force to retake the islands, marking the start of a 74-day conflict. The war saw intense fighting across land, sea, and air, beginning with Argentina’s occupation and Britain’s subsequent counteroffensive, which included the sinking of the Argentine cruiser ARA General Belgrano and the British landing at San Carlos Bay.
Around 30,000 military personnel were involved in the conflict, with Argentina deploying approximately 12,000 troops to the islands and Britain sending a task force of about 18,000 personnel, including naval, army, and air force units. The fighting claimed numerous lives, with Argentina losing 649 soldiers, sailors, and airmen, while Britain suffered 255 deaths among its forces. Additionally, three Falkland Islands civilians were killed during the conflict, bringing the total death toll to 907. The war ended on June 14, 1982, when Argentine forces surrendered, restoring British control over the islands.
On April 1, 1945, fifty thousand U.S. combat troops of the Tenth Army, under the command of Lieutenant General Simon B. Buckner Jr., landed on the southwest coast of the Japanese island of Okinawa. The U.S. forces, intent on seizing Okinawa as a base of operations for a later assault on the mainland, had already lost 116 planes and incurred damage to three aircraft carriers. The American troops quickly seized two airfields and advanced inland to cut the island's waist, battling nearly 120,000 Japanese army, militia, and labor troops. Although U.S. forces had landed without loss of life, they would suffer more than 50,000 casualties, including more than 12,000 deaths, as a result of kamikaze air attacks by the desperate Japanese. General Buckner was among the fatalities. The Japanese commander, Lieutenant General Mitsuru Ushijima, committed ritual suicide upon the defeat of his forces, which absorbed 117,000 casualties. Some 4,000 Japanese troops surrendered.
