According to Ukrainian 🇺🇦military source Osman, a platoon commander of the 24th “Aidar” battalion, “The enemy launched a mechanized assault in the Kursk region in panic after losing positions to our advance. Their equipment was redirected to the flanks but was destroyed near our border. We have losses too—enemy aviation and artillery are hitting our forces hard, trying to halt our progress.”

According to Ukrainian 🇺🇦sources, on December 29th, 2024, on the Vasylivka-Tokmak highway, an FPV unit of the “Kraken” battalion of the GUR killed Serhii “Kama” Melnikov, the chief of staff, and his driver from the “Storm Ossetia” battalion (429th motorized rifle regiment of the Russian 🇷🇺Armed Forces).
The footage of his supposed death is quite spectacular as
it shows his car having a serious accident while trying to evade the Ukrainian FPV drone. If that was really him, it can be assumed that the crash alone killed him.

According to the Russian 🇷🇺aviation-affiliated channel Fighterbomber, Ukraine’s🇺🇦 use of electronic warfare in the Kursk region is so intense that UAVs have been rendered almost completely useless, except for fiber optic models. As a result, Russian forces have reportedly had to resort to old-school reconnaissance methods, such as binoculars. The channel also noted that the use of glide bombs in the region is difficult and impractical.
