India’s diplomatic relations with Türkiye have reportedly taken a significant downturn following reports that the Turkish government has imposed a moratorium on the export of arms and defense items to India. This development surfaced during a recent session of the Turkish parliament’s foreign affairs committee, where a senior government official revealed the decision. The move by Türkiye follows the cancellation of a significant shipbuilding contract by the Indian Navy, which had been previously awarded to a Turkish shipyard.

Turkey has blocked cooperation between NATO and Israel since October because of the war in Gaza and said the alliance should not engage with Israel as a partner until there is an end to the conflict, sources familiar with the process said.
Israel carries the status of NATO partner and has fostered close relations with the military alliance and some of its members, notably its biggest ally the United States.
Prior to Israel's offensive in Gaza - prompted by Palestinian militant group Hamas' Oct. 7 rampage - NATO member Turkey had been working to mend its long-strained ties with Israel.
Since then, Ankara has been fiercely critical of Israel's operation in Gaza, which it says amounts to a genocide, and has halted all bilateral trade. It has also slammed many Western allies for their support of Israel.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the sources said Turkey had vetoed all NATO engagement with Israel since October, including joint meetings and exercises, viewing Israel's "massacre" of Palestinians in Gaza as a violation of NATO's founding principles.

The Battle of the Nile, also known as the Battle of Aboukir Bay, took place from August 1 to August 3, 1798, during the French Revolutionary Wars. Nelson decided to split his fleet into two divisions and attack the French line of ships from both the seaward and the landward sides. This unconventional tactic, known as the "Nelson Touch," allowed the British to engage the French ships simultaneously, disrupting their formation and causing chaos within the enemy fleet.
During the intense battle that followed, the British ships inflicted heavy casualties on the French fleet, sinking several French vessels and capturing others. The French flagship, the L'Orient, caught fire and exploded, leading to a devastating loss for the French.
By the end of the Battle of the Nile, the French fleet was decimated, with only a few ships managing to escape. The British victory at the Battle of the Nile not only secured British dominance in the Mediterranean but also dealt a severe blow to French ambitions in the region.
The Battle of the Nile is considered one of Horatio Nelson's greatest victories and a turning point in the Napoleonic Wars. Nelson's leadership and tactical brilliance during the battle solidified his reputation as one of the greatest naval commanders in British history.

The Native American forces were greatly outnumbered and suffering from dwindling supplies and exhaustion.
The decisive battle took place near the Bad Axe River, where the Illinois militia and U.S. Army forces caught up with Black Hawk and his followers. Despite being cornered and outnumbered, the Sauk and Fox warriors fought fiercely but were ultimately overwhelmed by the superior firepower and numbers of the American forces.
The battle at Bad Axe was a one-sided affair, resulting in significant casualties among the Native American forces. Many of the Sauk and Fox, including non-combatants, were killed during the battle or in the subsequent pursuit by the American forces. Chief Black Hawk himself was captured shortly after the battle, effectively ending the Black Hawk War.

A Russian couple on Wednesday was sentenced in the Slovenian capital to 19 months in prison each, after pleading guilty to spying charges. The husband and wife were released on time served and were ordered to leave the country.
The Ljubljana court sentenced them for espionage and using fake documents to register their firms. The couple was also banned from returning to Slovenia for five years.
The couple reportedly used the Slovenian capital as their base to travel to neighboring NATO and EU member states, relay orders from Moscow and bring cash to other Russian sleeper agents. They were arrested in 2022.
