Davis was reportedly unhappy about the album's original cover, which featured a photograph of a young white woman and child aboard a sailboat. He made his displeasure known to Columbia executive George Avakian, asking, "Why'd you put that white bitch on there?" Avakian later stated that the question was made in jest. For later releases of the record, however, the original cover-photo has been replaced by a photograph of Davis.

The Bootleg Beatles are a Beatles tribute band. They have performed over 4,000 times since their establishment in March 1980.
Their first meeting with a real Beatle was in 1996 at David Gilmour's 50th birthday party. Gilmour booked both the Bootleg Beatles and the Australian Pink Floyd Show as he had "always wanted to have the Beatles support Pink Floyd". George Harrison was in the audience and quipped "you probably know the chords better than I do" and "Where's the Bootleg Brian Epstein? 'Cos he's got all the money!"

La cattedrale di Brasilia (Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida) nella capitale della Repubblica Federale del Brasile, è un'opera disegnata dall'architetto Oscar Niemeyer. Il 12 settembre 1958 fu posta la prima pietra. Nel 1960 la struttura principale, consistente in un'area circolare di 70 m dalla quale si innalzano le colonne, era pronta, ed il 31 maggio 1970 venne inaugurata, con l'aggiunta dei vetri esterni trasparenti.
Questa struttura iperboloide è costruita in cemento armato e con il suo tetto in vetro pare che si alzi svettando verso il cielo. Il progetto di Niemeyer della Cattedrale di Brasilia si basò sulla figura dell'iperboloide di rivoluzione, in cui le sezioni sono asimmetriche. Questa struttura è il risultato dell'unione di 16 pilastri identici in cemento armato, aventi sezione iperbolica e pesanti 90 tonnellate ciascuno, che nell'intento originario rappresentano due mani in movimento verso il cielo.

Sporo (in latino Sporus, in greco antico: Σπόρος; ... – I sec. d.C.) fu un liberto eunuco con cui l'imperatore Nerone volle unirsi in matrimonio.
Dopo la morte della moglie Poppea nel 66 d.C., l'imperatore Nerone ordinò di trovare qualcuno il cui volto somigliasse a quello della moglie, e quello che risultò più simile fu quello del giovane liberto Sporo. Si narra dunque che Nerone abbia ordinato ai suoi chirurghi di castrarlo e di trasformare il liberto in donna. I due si unirono così in matrimonio. Sporo ebbe tutti gli ornamenti propri delle imperatrici e ricevette il titolo di Sabina e accompagnava ufficialmente Nerone durante le visite, come per esempio quella in Grecia.

Seborga (A Seborca in ligure) è un comune italiano di 286 abitanti della provincia di Imperia in Liguria.
A partire dagli anni cinquanta del XX secolo alcuni membri della comunità di Seborga hanno rivendicato un'indipendenza dalla Repubblica Italiana, in virtù di un presunto antico status di Principato di cui la località anticamente avrebbe goduto, ritenendo non valida l'annessione al Regno di Sardegna.
I cittadini di Seborga eleggono perciò anche un principe con funzioni prettamente simboliche: il ruolo è stato svolto dal 14 maggio 1963 fino al 25 novembre 2009, data della sua morte, da Giorgio Carbone (Giorgio I), dal 25 aprile 2010 al 10 novembre 2019 da Marcello Menegatto (Marcello I) e dal 10 novembre 2019 da Nina Menegatto (Nina), prima donna a ricoprire la carica. La principessa è coadiuvata da un consiglio dei ministri (Consiglio della Corona), privo di potere legale.

The winner of the award was voted by viewers and readers, a panel of France Football judges, and former Ballon d'Or winners. The viewers and readers voted Michel Platini as the best, but the France Football jury and former Ballon d'Or winners chose Alfredo Di Stéfano.

"la grande burla della Luna") è il nome con cui è rimasta nota una serie di sei articoli pubblicata nel quotidiano New York Sun a partire dal 25 agosto 1835, sulla presunta scoperta della vita e della civiltà sulla Luna. Tali scoperte furono falsamente attribuite a sir John Herschel, forse il più noto astronomo del suo tempo.
Negli intenti dell'anonimo autore - poi rivelatosi Richard Adams Locke - doveva presumibilmente trattarsi di una satira, che tuttavia fu presa per vera. Gli articoli suscitarono tale scalpore da essere tradotti in varie lingue e pubblicati all'estero. L'anno successivo uscì a Napoli, in opuscolo, un'edizione in italiano, traduzione dell'edizione francese, intitolata Delle scoperte fatte nella luna del dottor Giovanni Herschel; è stata ripubblicata anche col titolo Nuove scoperte lunari.

500 gram de lonza o spalla de porscell
300 gram de luganega
80 gram de panceta
300 gram de polpa de tomates o 3 tomates gross de trià
50 gram de buter
400 (o anca pussee) gram de scigolle dolz
1 deciliter de vin
Un poo de farina
Sal e pever quànt che l'è assee
Procedura
Fa sudà la scigolla tajada suttil in d'una pentola insema a la panceta a tochei, in del buter
Dorà in d'un oltra padella la luganega a tochei
Tajà la lonza/spalla suttil e passàlla in la farina, sgiontàlla a la pentola de la panceta e di scigolle e rosolà per un quaj menut
Sfumà cont el vin, e quand che l'è evaporad, sgiontà i tomates
Fa coeuser a foeugh pass per 45 menut circa e sgiontà, 20 menut prima de la fin, la luganega.

Richard Osman's House of Games is a British quiz show hosted by Richard Osman and produced by Banijay UK Productions subsidiary Remarkable Entertainment for the BBC. The show is played on a weekly basis, with four celebrities playing on five consecutive days to win daily prizes, and the weekly prize of being crowned as "House of Games" champion. Points are accrued depending on where each celebrity finishes on each day and the points are doubled on Friday's show.
At the end of each day, the scores are announced and the winner wins a daily prize, which is usually a normal everyday object of some description with the "House of Games" logo imprinted on it (the logo being a turquoise-blue background with a depiction of Osman's hair, eyebrows and glasses). The weekly winner receives the "House of Games" trophy (a silver cup with the Osman depiction on it) from Osman.

I Blue Man Group sono un gruppo musicale e di performance art fondato nel 1987 a New York da tre compagni di università, Phil Stanton, Chris Wink e Matt Goldman.
I membri originari non partecipano più agli spettacoli del gruppo che è diventato negli anni una sorta di network artistico diffuso in varie nazioni, oltre che una casa di produzione con spettacoli residenti in vari teatri sparsi per il mondo.
Questi sono caratterizzati dalla presenza di tre uomini (chiamati Blue Men) con delle maschere in lattice blu che ne nascondono i capelli e le orecchie. I Blue Men si comportano come dei mimi che utilizzano varie percussioni "improvvisate" e strumenti autocostruiti come il PVC pipe instrument, riproducendo visivamente i suoni prodotti dalla band.

Operazione Bernhard era il nome in codice di un piano segreto tedesco, sviluppato durante la seconda guerra mondiale, il cui obiettivo principale era di mettere in crisi l'economia britannica attraverso l'immissione massiccia di banconote false da £5, £10, £20 e £50. I falsi avrebbero dovuto far aumentare l'inflazione e quindi distruggere il sistema economico e finanziario del nemico.
L'operazione prende il nome dal capitano delle SS Bernhard Krüger, già esperto nella falsificazione di passaporti, che ne era il responsabile. La stampa dei biglietti, iniziata nel 1942, ebbe luogo presso le baracche 18 e 19 del campo di concentramento di Sachsenhausen posto 35 chilometri a nord di Berlino, grazie al lavoro di 137 deportati ebrei di 13 differenti nazionalità, tutti esperti in modo professionale di stampa su carta.
Gran parte del denaro contraffatto, racchiuso in casse metalliche, venne gettato dai nazisti, negli ultimi giorni di guerra, nel lago Toplitz, in Austria.

Chisanbop or chisenbop (from Korean chi (ji) finger + sanpŏp (sanbeop) calculation 지산법/指算法), sometimes called Fingermath, is a finger counting method used to perform basic mathematical operations. According to The Complete Book of Chisanbop by Hang Young Pai, chisanbop was created in the 1940s in Korea by Sung Jin Pai and revised by his son Hang Young Pai, who brought the system to the United States in 1977.
With the chisanbop method it is possible to represent all numbers from 0 to 99 with the hands, rather than the usual 0 to 10, and to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. The system has been described as being easier to use than a physical abacus for students with visual impairments.

Sir Alfred Jules "Freddie" Ayer FBA (/ɛər/ AIR; 29 October 1910 – 27 June 1989) was an English philosopher known for his promotion of logical positivism, particularly in his books Language, Truth, and Logic (1936) and The Problem of Knowledge (1956).
From 1959 to his retirement in 1978, Ayer held the Wykeham Chair, Professor of Logic at Oxford. At a party held by fashion designer Fernando Sanchez in 1987, Ayer confronted Mike Tyson, who was forcing himself upon the then little-known model Naomi Campbell. When Ayer demanded that Tyson stop, Tyson reportedly asked, "Do you know who the fuck I am? I'm the heavyweight champion of the world", to which Ayer replied, "And I am the former Wykeham Professor of Logic. We are both pre-eminent in our field. I suggest that we talk about this like rational men". Ayer and Tyson then began to talk, allowing Campbell to slip out.
