How does OTA (over the air) updates work on crDroid?
Officially supported crdroid devices can fully automate OTA updates using crDroid recovery or compatible recovery
Please keep in mind that if you are running a decrypted data partition, or have used a DFE.zip (disable forced encryption) or equivalent, it is strongly advised not to use the automated OTA update system as it will not reflash the dfe.zip after the update.
If you are using any type of dfe, or if your devices data partition is unencrypted, please update manually. Details of how to do this should exist in your device specific telegram support group or xda thread.

The rules for crDroid Community - official supported devices are:
1. This is NOT a device specific community. Do look up your devices respective xda forum thread or device specific telegram group for issue resolution, install help etc (Links from crdroid website>Your devices download page). You can tag your device maintainer with suitable logs and steps to reproduce error/issue in your device group.
2. Do not tag devs or admin or send unwanted private messages without permission to any user. Ask your questions to the group. Other users may be able to assist you here.
3. SPAM and get banned. No court martial, nothing. Be patient. Ask once and wait for someone to reply.
4. No ETA. Asking ETA is equivalent to spamming. This includes asking for any new updates, new android versions, when new devices will be supported or similar. As this is all done in Devs/maintainers spare time, releases occur when the Dev/ maintainer is ready to do so.
5. Only Official crDroid. We love and respect open source but refrain from discussing other ROMs or devices without a crDroid build. If your device is not officially supported, DO NOT ASK HERE. Little off-topic is still fine though.
6. English language is to be used. Use a translator if this is not your first language.
7. Users are expected to ask questions in the most relevant places and be resourceful. If it's not CrDroid relevant it's better to ask the question/seek support elsewhere.
8. Anything related to piracy (including mods of apps e.g Revanced), illegal activity, NSFW will result in an instant ban.
9. Respect all users regardless of race, beliefs or political stance. Discussion of these are topics strictly forbidden as all they cause is arguments.
Mutes, warnings and bans will be issued if rules are not followed.

This group is mainly non devs. Most users here won't be able to help with building crDroid from source or other developer activities. You may ask for help with building crDroid in this group, but please keep in mind that devs are normally busy and you may not get a response. Posting many times will be considered spam and you will be warned. If you are to post build logs/errors, please use a pastebin service.
Making a custom ROM for any device requires:
Unlockable Bootloader: Not all devices have an unlockable bootloader.
Device Ownership: For creating a custom ROM for any device, it’s beneficial if the developer or maintainer actually owns the device. Having firsthand experience with the device makes testing and troubleshooting much easier.
Availability of Build Parts: To build a custom ROM specifically for your device, the necessary “build parts” must be accessible. Unfortunately, not all manufacturers are equally good at releasing these components. If your device is Mediatek or Unisoc based, then chances are these parts are closed source and not available to build custom ROMs with.
Time and Effort: Crafting a ROM is a labor-intensive process. Developers invest significant time and effort into creating and maintaining it. It’s not a simple one-and-done task. Regular maintenance and support for users require ongoing commitment.
Keep in mind that many developers pursue this as a hobby during their spare time because they’re passionate about using the ROM on their own devices. If any of the above factors are not met, it’s unlikely that crDroid or other custom ROMs will be available for your device.
Build instructions for each crDroid release are available at

If you require basic knowledge on how to build from source please use Google, XDA forums. Further resources can be found at:

Yes, I know that. The question was whether anyone had found the documentation for this smartphone to develop a custom ROM, but I see that the Redmi Note 14/15 are also poorly documented...
