I use 7.39 and it runs smoothly. 7.41 is latest but seems to have a bug with WA audio calls and no newer patchlevel. Tried Lineage 14 but rolled back because it was laggy. Also switching to dynamic partitions was quite complicated. If you do try L14 I would be interested in your experiences, maybe I did something wrong.

I did try lineage. lineage-21.0-20240611 , with android 14. Looks quite smooth to me. Previously I used alpha droid android 13. LineageOS 21 is as smooth as that. I can stream youtube music on background while browsing Google photos in my 2gb ram redmi 4. So yes it's properly optimized. FP, BT, Camera, Volte all working. You have to follow their official flashing process.
