🖼 Coca-Cola Releases “Masterpiece” NFT Collection on Layer-2 Base
Coca-Cola has unveiled its "Masterpiece" NFT collection, displaying a fusion of traditional and modern artwork on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2 network. This launch is a part of Coinbase's "Onchain Summer" campaign, which celebrates numerous on-chain art, gaming and music projects launched on Base. The NFT collection features renowned masterpieces such as "The Scream" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring," combined with modern works by artists like Aket and Vikram Kushwah, all integrated with the iconic Coca-Cola bottle. Eight different versions of these NFTs are offered, with prices ranging from 0.0011 ETH to 0.014 ETH. Some of them are being sold on OpenSea for less than the mint price even though they are being minted using the mint.fun platform. Over 50,000 NFTs were minted, which came to an end on Wednesday. Coca-Cola's venture into NFTs isn't new, the company previously auctioned unique NFTs in 2021, raising over $575,000 for charity. The "Onchain Summer" campaign will last till August 30, featuring a number of projects from partners, including Coca-Cola, Manifold, Optimism, OpenSea and more. With over 100,000 daily active users, Base has garnered significant interest lately and joined Optimism and Arbitrum as prominent players in the Ethereum scaling space.

🖼 Coca-Cola Released A New Series Of NFTs On The Layer 2 Base
In Layer 2 Base’s Onchain Summer Program, a prominent appearance will be the Coca-Cola “Masterpiece” NFT set, with a mint expiration date of August 16 and a price from 0.001 – 0.014 ETH/NFT. The Onchain Summer program, which celebrates the launch of the Base mainnet, is a series of Web3 events related to art, games, and music. Between now and the end of August, more than 50 brands, including Coca-Cola, Friends With Benefits – a social decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), and NFT creation platform Zora, will hold the launch NFT on the Base network. In a year where NFT trading volume has fallen almost 50% since January, Web3 projects are struggling to scale. Jesse Pollak, Protocols Lead at Coinbase, told CoinDesk that Onchain Summer aims to showcase how NFTs can be leveraged as a technology rather than just a speculative asset. Since the announcement was made, Base has received quite a bit of public attention. Typically, the total locked value (TVL) of this layer2 exceeded $118 million, ranking 19th in the rankings. Currently, there are over 100 dApps on Base, some of which are created by developers who received early access last month. Coinbase is encouraging users to connect their ether to Base for free minting of NFT to celebrate the launch of the Base mainnet.

🖼 Friend.tech founders have controversial ties to failed NFT project Kosetto
Kosetto is a tradeable NFT wearables project launched last December on Ethereum. The project, which consisted of 1,689 items, sparked significant excitement with users flooding social media platforms with posts about it. However, after it had introduced a Chrome extension for its NFTs in January, the project went silent in February after promising that “something big was coming.”. OpenSea’s data shows that the floor price of the collection is currently 0.01 ETH, around $17. The last sale for the NFTs occurred in February, with its total sales volume at only 5 ETH. On X, several crypto community members have pointed out that the struggling NFT project was linked to the Friend.tech founders. Kalland pointed out that a search of 0xRacerAlt’s tweet shows that they have deleted several links to the NFT project and that the Friend.tech founder held an official position on Kosetto Discord. Friend.Tech has gathered much interest from the crypto community since its launch on Aug. 10. The decentralized social platform allows personalities to issue shares, granting access to exclusive content and chat groups. Yearn Finance developer Banteg tweeted that over 100,000 people have been given access to the platform since its launch.

🖼 FarmVille Creator Zynga Reveals First Ethereum NFT Game: Sugartown
Prominent casual and mobile game publisher Zynga announced today that its first blockchain game is called Sugartown, which will utilize Ethereum NFTs. In Sugartown, three farm animals have opened a wormhole from another dimension. Creatures called Oras have crossed through this wormhole and turned Sugartown into a fun, gamified world. The game will be released at “a later date” and will be playable via web browsers only, a Zynga representative told Decrypt via email. Zynga will release 10,000 Ora NFTs sometime later this year, and they will be required for players to enter the game. The Ora NFTs will give players access to the experience and the free-to-play minigames within Sugartown. Players will also be able to lock up or “stake” their Ora NFTs to accumulate Sugar, a non-crypto, in-game currency. “Our ambition is to empower players through a sustainable Web3 platform full of fun and enduring games,” Zynga Vice President of Web3 Gaming Matt Wolf said in a statement. “We created Sugartown to appeal to a native Web3 market,” he added, “but with the ambition of scaling much wider over time while we build a passionate and engaged community of holders we hope will enjoy this experience as much as we loved bringing it to life.”
