You use the exchange because it avoids conversion in the app, swapping CRO to BTC to then top up the card just meant instead of selling CRO in the App you are instead selling BTC in the app (topping up the card with crypto is just selling crypto for fiat)

Two days ago I just did the Crypto.com Exchange route to convert CRO to CDC card, I got £55.43

Meanwhile the in-app selling to GBP wallet was only £54.47.

(Actual value was £56.86 according to CoinGenko)

That would not save money, you could possibly save a little with swapping CRO to USD on the exchange swapping that to GBP withdrawing redepositing and using that to top up but it would depend on the amount of CRO you were selling

If you have exchange, move your CRO to exchange, trade to BTC, move the BTC back to CDC app, then top up with BTC, that way you may save around 30%-40% transaction spread
