The main signs of a scam-project 🗳

Catch information that will help you distinguish worthwhile projects from those on which you are 100% likely to lose money 🥲

◾️Project team throws around promises they can't deliver. For example, promises guaranteed earnings that cannot be accurately predicted.

◾️The project team is anonymous. When implementing a quality project, there is no point in hiding the team. Even the opposite, a strong team is one of the factors of success of the project, which is evaluated by investors.

◾️The project has no technical documentation or working product. Even the most revolutionary idea without proper documentation of its technical solution is nothing.

◾️An announcement of a super large-scale project with a small team. It's hardly worth trusting a project if there are a few people on the team and they want to become the new Google or Apple without any product.

◾️Roadmap, painted out for several years ahead. The crypto market is very dynamic, with the likelihood that several peers will have already been released in that time.

◾️Lots of consultants. Most of them are involved in projects for money or for self-praise. If there are a lot of them, it is not yet a sign of quality.

◾️Large share of the team in the allocation of tokens. Often a team wants to get 30-40% of the tokens, and loudly proclaims the high decentralization of the project. This looks very questionable.

◾️Low token price. Some may see this as a great potential for growth, but attention should be paid to capitalization.

◾️Weak marketing. Even the coolest product can fail if nobody knows about it. The absence of the project in any social networks is already a very alarming sign.

◾️A very big hype around a project. This is not always a good thing either. Maybe all the money went to marketing rather than the product itself. And it can also lead to external audits and investigations, which can have a negative impact on the further fate of the project.

◾️It is not clear what the project does. If you've studied the information about the project, but still don't understand it, you shouldn't carry money there. Either the team is unable to adequately convey information, or is trying to hide something.

◾️Project hides information about competitors. A good project should not be afraid of competitors. If they are not mentioned in the documentation, that is a reason to think twice.

Why was there a sharp drop? 📉

❗️ CryptoCom Suspends US Dollar Transfers via Silvergate.

Silvergate has been under scrutiny after failing to file its annual report on time. The delay in filing the report raised concerns, as the bank stated that it is evaluating its ability to operate. Silvergate is one of the banks that was affected by the fallout of the FTX exchange. The bank also reported a $1 billion net loss in Q4 2022.

NFT-FI: a new sector in crypto? 🖼

As we know, fiat money, shares or tokens of big projects have extremely high liquidity and there are no difficulties in buying/selling them. What the NFT-market cannot boast of, most of its activity is based only on speculations (flips). And most of the players who entered the market during the previous bull run are still looking for ways to monetize their art in order to make some profit.

Let's say you have an NFT that you're holding for the long term. If it is one of the "blue chips" (BAYC, Crypto Punks, Azuki), then you have invested a considerable amount, thereby freezing a significant part of your funds. But what to do if you urgently need money for new investment ideas, and you don't have free funds? If two ways:
- Sell NFT (possibly at a loss);
- Use NFT-Fi.

➡️ NFT-Fi is a "fresh" sector formed at the intersection of decentralized finance (DeFi) and NFT.

There are several directions in NFT-Fi:
- NFT leasing;
- NFT lending;
- NFT fractionation;
- NFT derivatives.

Let's look at each method separately:

➡️ 1. Leasing.
For example, you have an NFT that gives some "functional" value (especially a gaming NFT). You can use its utility yourself OR rent out the NFT.
• The owner of the NFT places its assets on the market.
• The tenant initiates the process of leasing the NFT.
• The NFT is then placed in a smart contract with borrower and lender terms to ensure secure transactions. These terms include rent and collateral, which has a higher price than the NFT, to protect the lender.
• When the contract expires or the tenant's demand ceases, the NFT and collateral are returned to the original owner.

◾️ Example of sites for NFT leases: reNFT and IQ Protoco.

➡️ 2. Lending.
NFT lending is the act of pledging your NFT in exchange for immediate access to a crypto-loan, which is done online via a smart contract.
• Initially, the NFT you choose to use as collateral is sent to a smart escrow contract.
• Potential lenders then make offers. If you accept one of their offers, your asset will be locked into the smart contract and your wallet will receive the borrowed cryptocurrency.

Under the terms, you will have to repay the loan + interest to get your NFT back. If you don't repay the loan on time, the asset becomes available for collection by the lender.

◾️ Example of NFT-loan sites: NFTfi and Arcade.

➡️ 3. Fractionalization.
Fractionalization is the process of separating NFTs into smaller fractional pieces for sale and trade.
• To fractionate, the NFT is placed in a vault. ERC-20 tokens representing ownership are then minted, each representing a share of ownership in the original NFT.
• NFT fractionation allows investors who have less capital to gain access to expensive collections. This increases market liquidity because expensive NFTs can be fractionated into fractions of their value using interchangeable tokens.

➡️ 4. Derivatives.
NFT derivatives is a financial instrument which allows you to make "bets" on future NFT prices.

The principle of working with NFT derivatives is almost no different from working on traditional crypto-assets. There is a platform for traders who can open long or short positions on the NFT value.

⚡️ Amazon may launch its NFT marketplace on April 24.

Amazon is gearing up to launch its NFT platform with around 15 collections available at launch, according to inside sources.

The platform, which was initially revealed in January by Blockworks, will be accessed through a new "Amazon Digital Marketplace" tab on the site. The tab will initially only be available in the US, but will eventually be opened up to the rest of the world.

The launch date was delayed twice recently due to the FTX crash, but is now scheduled for April 24th, barring any unforeseen events.
