10 questions for Satoshi Nakamoto

The administrators of the Kraken crypto exchange’s Twitter account invited their users to ask questions to Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous founder(s) of Bitcoin.

This is a fun little activity, but you can be almost 100% sure that Satoshi will not answer. It’s interesting to know what crypto enthusiasts want to learn from the creator of the world’s predominant cryptocurrency.

Questions:

1. Do you have private keys?
2. How much Bitcoin do you have?
3. Are you going to sell your Bitcoin?
4. Why did you make Bitcoin halvings happen every 210,000 blocks mined? Is the decision somehow related to the frequency of U.S. presidential elections or financial market cycles?
5. How do you assess what the crypto industry has become? Does it meet your expectations?
6. What project did you start working on after Bitcoin?
7. Where have you been all this time?
8. Are there other coins in your portfolio besides Bitcoin?
9. Is the Ordinals protocol dangerous for Bitcoin?
10. What do you think about the PEPE memecoin?

What would you like to ask Satoshi?

What’s a seed phrase?😑

If you’ve ever used a non-custodial wallet, you’ve likely come across a “seed phrase” or “recovery phrase,” 12 or 24 random words that serve as the key to your digital crypto wallet. It’s a special password to access all your crypto.

A seed phrase is the last line of defense for your digital assets. If you ever lose the device holding your non-custodial wallet, your seed phrase will allow you to regain access to your funds after redownloading the wallet on a new device.

If you lose it, you’ll lose access to all of your assets, and no one will be able to help regain access—not even the service provider. (If you remember your password, you’ll still have access to your crypto, but many wallets store your seed phrase so you can see it anytime.)

With that said, it’s vital to store your seed phrase correctly and in a safe place:

— Write it down on a piece of paper and keep it somewhere safe and fire-proof — e.g., in a bank deposit box or a safe at home.
— In addition to the point above, never store your seed phrase in a digital location because hackers may gain access to it. (Some programs can identify screenshots of seed phrases on your phone or computer.)
— Never give your seed phrase to people, even if you trust them.
— Consider having multiple copies of your seed phrase in various safe places in case of an emergency or you lose one of them.

With complete power over your own funds comes great responsibility. Your seed phrase is the most valuable piece of information in the world of crypto; be responsible by taking care of it—you wouldn’t want to lose it or have it fall into the wrong hands.

MEV: How bots are getting ahead of the curve 🤖

As the crypto market evolves, various vulnerabilities are emerging that are used to take advantage of innocent users. One such scheme is MEV.

➡️ MEV (maximum extractable value) is the value that a miner or validator can additionally earn by reordering transactions.

Miners and validators arrange transactions based on the size of the gas price, so they increase their profits. They have full control over the transactions from the mempool.

➡️Mempool is a "mechanism" that tracks unconfirmed transactions. Transfers with lower priority (low gas) often have to wait longer before they are processed.

➡️ What benefit do miners or validators get from being able to determine the order of transactions?

The bot finds the deal in the DEX queue and tries by any means to increase or decrease the price ahead of its opponent.

🔤 For example, a person exchanges USDC for ETH. The bot can add more USDC/ETH to the USDC/ETH liquidity pool in order to increase the price of ETH. By doing so, the client will receive less ETH for his USDC. The profit of the initiator of the MEV transaction will be the difference between the initial rate and the rate of the opponent's transaction (minus commission).

• To get ahead, the bot has to pay more gas to be first in line to make the transaction.

Would you like to have a MEV bot?

👍 - I already have one.
🔥 - It's too complicated for me

Market Maker: who you really buy tokens from

Fast order execution has become commonplace in today's market realities. But remember, whenever an asset is bought or sold, there must be someone on the other side of the transaction. Often that person is a market maker.

➡️ A market maker is a market participant whose role is to buy and sell an asset in order to add liquidity.

• A market maker places orders to buy/sell an asset which are executed either by market participants or by himself (to increase the trading volume).

➡️ What does the market maker earn from?
The MM receives the difference between supply and demand (spread) for providing the asset. For example, he might quote a selling price of $20 and a buying price of $20.05. This means that the profit per token will be $0.05.

➡️ What does the market maker risk?
In a word - sharp moves. When the market crashes, the MM is forced to buy assets that are falling in price. It also leads to a slowdown in buying as most seek to shed their positions. Buying will of course resume, but at a value lower than the average buying price of the fall.

➡️ Can a market maker "draw" a chart?
Hypothetically, the MM could place a large order of 3x the current price and buy it back himself. This would draw a high shadow of a candle on the chart, but in the end the price would instantly return to its original value.

• In addition, market makers are subject to rules that prohibit manipulating the price of assets.

Did you know what a market maker is?

👍 - Yes
👎 - No

Basic concepts of investing in crypto: some conclusions | Part 2 🗼

Here we have prepared part 2 of the post with interesting conclusions about investing and crypto projects. Enjoy learning.

If you missed part 1, it's here.

➡️ 1. Those who can adapt will survive
We buy fundamentally important projects that are least likely to lose their relevance (due to a change in trend or the emergence of a new competitor). Crypto is a high-tech sphere, so even on SUI and all sorts of ZK-chains we will not stop, I am more than sure that with time these guys will become old and boring projects, and new, faster and more powerful blockchains will replace them.

⚫️That's why we look at blockchain tokens (except BTC) infrequently and with great caution. And if we choose such a project, it is only for the next trend, but not for the long term.

⚫️Various Dapps also do not inspire confidence in the long term. For the most part, the market stays with industry leaders like PancakeSwap and Unuswap, eclipsing the rest of the competition and their pathetic attempts to overtake older projects. The big fundamentally important Dapps (exchange services, lending) are already entrenched, and it's very hard to move them. All the rest are either copies of other EVMs, or other Dapps with more narrowly focused ideas that often do not survive because they do not gain the necessary popularity and customer base - the business simply does not make money.

⚫️Here we are interested in aggregation stories, that is, those projects that gather the user base around them but do not depend on the trend and blockchain. An example is 1inch, an aggregator of exchanges, because the guys gather a huge user base around them and they don't care which blockchain or token is trending, 1inch in any market will only grow every day. There are wallets like TrustWallet that, regardless of external factors, are gathering more and more customers by providing them with quality services.

↪️2. Is the business making money?

It's important to understand the business model of the project. Examine the metrics and understand, is the project making money and how much? And also figure out if it will make money in the future? And consider all the options for how the project can monetize itself. If the project makes money, then it will have money for the team, development, and advertising. If the project doesn't make money, even investments won't save it, just help it live a little more than others.

➡️Here's an example: 1inch collects tens of thousands of users on its platform, but 1inch itself is only an aggregator, it gives the best rate. Users love this feature, and many are willing to pay 1inch an extra commission for each swap in the future.

➡️ 3. Tokenomics

If the project fits these two parameters, I look at tokenomics and capitalization: how many tokens are in circulation now and how many will be in the next 5 years. After evaluating all the parameters, I make a decision.

⚫️Very often it happens that the first two parameters are ideal, but when I get to the tokenomics and capitalization, I realize that there is nothing to do.

It is important to find a project that passes the first two parameters and at the same time will be obscenely tempting in terms of tokenomics and cap.

😀 If this post was helpful to you, please put ️🔥. We appreciate it.

About the importance of decentralization 🤬

As you know, one of the key features of cryptocurrencies is decentralization. What is it and why is it valued so highly?

➡️ Blockchain is called decentralized because it has no central server and therefore no main manager in the form of any organization. What's wrong with central servers? Well, they are owned by third parties, have access to your personal data and can leak it or just delete it at any time.

The need for a central server is eliminated because each computer on the network keeps a copy of all the data and changes to the blockchain.☝️ They are all connected like a big cobweb. If one node (that's the name of the network nodes, i.e. each computer) shuts down, the others continue to work as if nothing had happened.

↪️ Even if the power goes out all over the planet - a copy of the blockchain will continue to be stored on all computers in the network with the latest update. Speaking of updates, any change (e.g. adding a new transaction) must be confirmed by the miners before it enters the blockchain.

➡️ Blockchain is a secure technology that cannot be hacked, precisely because it is decentralized. For example, to fake the amount of a transfer, you need to do this on ALL nodes of the network at once. And the Bitcoin blockchain has almost 17260 of them. That's a lot of power, isn't it? 😁

What do you think would be more beneficial for the future development of the world economy?

👍 - Decentralization
🔥 - Centralization

Alternative blockchains and why we need them ☑️

Crypto is not limited to bitcoin and etherium. There are dozens of other alternative blockchains that are better, faster and cheaper.

➡️ All blockchains except Bitcoin and Ethereum are called alternatives. The first alternative blockchain Litecoin was launched as a competitor to BTC back in 2011. The number of alternative blockchains grew tremendously when Ethereum had problems with scaling.

↪️ The market has seen the entry of:

• Binance Smart Chain (BSC)
• Cardano (ADA)
• Polkadot (DOT)
• Solana (SOL)
• and other projects.

Increased competition prompted Ethereum developers to create a second version of the blockchain - Ethereum 2.0. In September 2022, the network switched to the Proof-of-Stake algorithm.

All blockchains are divided into levels: L0, L1, L2, L3. We talked more about this here.

➡️ Alternative blockchains can hardly compete with Bitcoin and Ethereum networks, but they definitely have a chance to occupy their niches, dominate in them and gain users' trust.

Which blockchain do you use more often?

🔥 - Ethereum
👍 - Binance Smart Chain

Jerome Powell and His Hour of Glory

Briefly:
▪️ Inflation is too high and we will work to get it back to 2%.
▪️ The banking system is more stable than ever.
▪️ The national debt ceiling problem hasn't been solved yet
▪️ Maybe the rate doesn't need to be raised as high as previously planned because it would hit banks and markets.
▪️ Perhaps a further reduction in demand will not come from a rate hike, but from changes in the labor market (rising unemployment).

Bottom line: shaved both ways, but the likelihood of another Fed rate hike has dropped from 45% to 15%

Trading and investing: What’s the difference?🤔

Crypto newcomers often get these two terms mixed up. So, let’s learn the difference.

↪️ The two are quite distinguishable: Trading is short-term investments, and investing is the same but for the long term

Traders open and close a lot of deals in a single day. For instance, they buy a cryptocurrency only to sell it a few hours later to lock in a profit.

➡️ Trading is highly time-consuming—and can fray a lot of nerves😄

Investing, meanwhile, focuses on the long game. Investors usually analyze a project’s fundamentals while considering its potential in the market. Thus, investors buy a digital asset specifically to hold it for a long time, from a few months to a few years or longer

✔️In short, investing is a better strategy for crypto beginners than trading.

However, neither of these strategies insulates you from losses. Always remember to invest at your own risk!

Crypto speak: Crypto winter

🔹During “crypto winter,” ❄️ the markets go cold, so to speak, for an extended period: Prices drop, and investors shy away from funding projects.

🔹Naturally, when prices take a tumble, panic ensues among investors. When these sudden drops in value pin the market with downward pressure, it can last months—even years—testing the patience of even the most seasoned traders and investors.

⚙️The term “crypto winter” was inspired by the idea of “nuclear winter,” which is the hypothetical scenario after nuclear annihilation and the protracted period of darkness and cold that would follow. Therefore, a crypto winter represents troubling times in crypto markets.

In case you were curious about the current state of the crypto market, we’re neck-deep in a crypto winter🙂

💭However, the good news is that the crypto markets also follow similar patterns to the four seasons we experience climate-wise. If we’re in a crypto winter at the moment, it’s only a matter of time before things start heating up again📊

Basic concepts of investing in cryptoproject tokens | Part 1 🇸🇦

Investing in tokens is not the stock market. Investor protection is out of the question here. We send our hard-earned $$$ buying another altcoin of progressive Dapps or incredibly fast blockchain, hoping to get rich quickly. Fast riches are what bribe us the most, so we are willing to take those risks. But how do we keep those risks to a minimum? Here are a few conclusions.

🟢First of all it is worth understanding that there is speculation and investment:

➡️ Speculation - when we see a short-term benefit in some token and buy it in order to exit at a certain point (on news or an event) and take a profit. It can be buying before an IDO, before an update, before a burn, or just for a short-term perspective before some expected trend.

↪️ Investing is investing money in fundamentally strong projects for the long term. This is where we believe in technology, and try to find our future Apple and Microsoft in the web3 world.

Speculation interests us mostly in a bull market, when you can find interesting ideas in the moment and win back deals. In a bull market, every news and event gives a good jump for a token, which almost never happens in a bear market. But the time to invest is always a bear market.

😀 Right now, we think it's a pretty good time for fundamental investments over the long term. We have some interesting conclusions on this topic. Put your strong 🔥 and we will post them tomorrow.
