Drift Opens DFX Claims and Redemptions for April Exploit Victims
Drift says users with verified losses from the April 1 exploit can claim 1 DFX for every 1 USDT lost. The claim window closes at 00:00 UTC on January 1, 2028; unclaimed DFX will be burned.
Each DFX represents a claim on Drift’s Recovery Pool, which holds about 3.11 million USDT. The pool is funded by a share of Velocity’s net protocol revenue, Tether’s matched deployment of up to 127.5 million USDT, contributions from strategic partners of up to 20 million USDT, and recovered funds.

By price, September belonged to small caps: STONK +1,070%, Rhea +863% and Quant +400%, the only multi-billion name in the top three. Rank by dollars added to FDV and the board flips to Bitcoin (+$121B), Ethereum (+$31.7B) and XRP (+$12.9B).
No coin made both lists this month. Bitway came closest, +248% in price and +$9.4B in FDV, just outside the top eight by percentage. Zcash added $9.8B on a +68% move.
DogeOS Opens Testnet for EVM Apps on Dogecoin
DogeOS opened its public testnet, a zero-knowledge rollup that brings EVM smart contracts to Dogecoin, with DOGE used to pay gas fees.
DogeOS comes from the founders of the MyDoge wallet. Teams are already deploying on testnet across payments, DeFi, games and markets. Dogecoin Foundation director Timothy Stebbing said he hopes it becomes "the springboard for a wave of new utility engineering."

Uptober is starting: BTC was green in 8 of last 10 Octobers
Since 2016, Bitcoin has closed October in the red only twice: 2018 (-3.8%) and 2025 (-3.9%). The median October return is +12.9%, and the best one was +47.6% in 2017.

Tokenized Stocks in Q3: BNB Chain Takes the Lead
rwa xyz data on tokenized stocks shows their distributed value grew 63.7 in Q3, from $1.96B on Jul 1 to $3.17B on Sep 28.
BNB Chain doubled to $1.07B and lifted its share from 27.0% to 33.6%, overtaking Ethereum, which held flat at $687M as its share fell to 21.7%. Avalanche jumped 135x to $431M (13.6%), and Robinhood Chain grew 14x to $150M.
Top DeFi Protocols by TVL Launched in Q3 2026
DefiLlama data on Q3 puts basis-trading protocol Axis on top with $57.3M TVL, followed by Robinhood Chain DEX Fables at $44M.

Bitwise launched a spot NEAR ETF, the first in the US. It trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker NRR with a 0.75% management fee.

Robinhood Wallet has integrated Arcus’ API, adding it as one of several routing providers for spot swaps of more than 190 stock tokens. Eligible users in supported jurisdictions can access Arcus’ liquidity and execution infrastructure through the wallet.
Arcus uses a request-for-quote model, where professional market makers compete to price each swap. Users whose trades route through Arcus may be eligible for Arcus Points, and limit orders are also planned through Robinhood Wallet’s dapp browser.

NEAR Intents Confirms $3.8M Exploit, Promises Full Compensation
NEAR Intents says a bug in how its Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure interacted with its smart contract led to a preliminary loss of about $3.8 million. The team says it will compensate users in full and has patched the contract vulnerability.
NEAR Intents and near.com services are expected to resume within an hour. Deposits and withdrawals on BSC, Polygon, TON, Optimism, Avalanche, Stellar, Monad, LayerX, Adi, Scroll and Plasma will remain paused for about 12 more hours as Omni infrastructure fixes are completed.

Zcash coinholders approved $8.4M in Q3 retroactive grants, funding 17 of 37 proposals. About 2.18M ZEC ($3.1B) took part in the vote.
Most of the money went to security work after the critical Orchard bug, which could have allowed unlimited ZEC minting in a pool holding about 4.2M ZEC ($2.3B at the time). Taylor Hornby, who found it, gets $1.5M across two bounties. Ironwood upgrade work and audits get $2.8M, and ZODL gets $1.95M for core protocol development.

Ostium launched its OLP recovery plan after the July 15 attack drained $23.75M from its liquidity pool. 3,321 of 3,666 affected wallets (90.6%) can get their losses back in full.
Stage 1: wallets that lost up to $1K can claim the full amount in USDC until Dec 29. Holders with bigger losses can take $1K now and waive the rest, or join Stage 2 by Oct 30, and doing nothing enrolls them automatically. Stage 2 will be funded by recovered assets and a share of protocol revenue.

Cboe and Robinhood announced KPI contracts: binary options on company metrics like revenue or earnings. Cboe plans to list them for 23 US stocks in October, pending approval.

Coinbase teased Pokémon card packs that users will open in its app, with every digital pull backed 1:1 by a real physical card.
After a rip, collectors can keep the card vaulted or have it shipped home. Coinbase has not shared a launch date, pricing or fees, and The Pokémon Company has not commented. Back in 2024, Coinbase Wallet integrated Courtyard, which tokenizes vaulted Pokémon cards.
