FTX has now returned $10B to creditors — five rounds in 18 months
The catch nobody mentions: claims are paid at Nov-2022 prices. 120% back sounds great, until you remember BTC was $16K then.
Made whole in dollars. The coins ran ~4x without them.
Allbridge Core Paused After $1.65M Flash Loan Exploit
Cross-chain protocol Allbridge paused its Core product after a $1.65M exploit that used a Solana flash loan to warp its stablecoin pool ratios, then bridged the drained funds over to Ethereum.
No zero-day: the attacker took a $1.12M flash loan from Kamino, rapidly swapped USDC for USDT to skew the pool, withdrew at favorable rates, then laundered proceeds through privacy protocols. PeckShield, CertiK and Onchain Lens flagged the breach. Allbridge urged LPs to withdraw from affected pools and called on the arbitrageurs who profited to return the funds and make affected LPs whole again.

X Cracks Down on Content Theft, Redirects Creator Revenue to Original Authors
X has introduced stricter measures to combat content theft and engagement farming within its Creator Revenue Sharing program. Using an upgraded version of Grok AI, the platform can now detect duplicated content three times more effectively than before.
According to X, creators who repost stolen content, even with edits such as watermarks, intros, or overlays, will no longer receive monetization, with eligible revenue instead being redirected to the original creator. The system also applies to copied viral text posts.
Across Protocol Reports Attack Hit Solana, User Funds Remain Safe
At around 5:30 AM UTC today, Across reported an attack on Solana. The team says no users were affected, all bridge transactions have been completed, and user funds are safe.
Solana deposits have been disabled for now, while the protocol remains otherwise unaffected. The only funds potentially lost belong to the relayer operated by Risk Labs, the foundation supporting Across.
Truth Social to Sell Wall Street Faster Access to Trump’s Posts
From August 1, Trump Media will sell Wall Street firms a real-time feed of Truth Social’s top 10 accounts — Trump’s included — delivering their market-moving posts within milliseconds of publication.
Trading desks run algorithms that fire on such signals, so even a few milliseconds’ head start can mean big profits. “Markets already move on Truth Social posts,” the company said — and it is now selling privileged access.
Ansem Pitches ANSEM as a Tokenized Social Network
Solana influencer Ansem laid out a plan to turn his ANSEM memecoin — “The Black Bull” — into a tokenized social network, fusing retail speculation with a more sustainable creator economy to onboard new users to crypto.
ANSEM already runs a “Bull Index” staking system that pays holders a cut of harvested trading fees. Ansem has airdropped ~$7M of the token via his BullpenFi platform, aiming for a holder base of 1 million wallets.
Context: ANSEM is a high-volatility Solana memecoin that ran ~20,000% in late June to a $60M+ cap. This is Ansem’s stated vision, not a shipped product — not financial advice.
Citadel Securities Invests $400M in Crypto.com
Citadel Securities has made a $400M strategic investment in Crypto.com at a $20B valuation — the exchange’s first institutional funding round in its decade-long history.
The capital will accelerate Crypto.com’s expansion into all asset classes — tokenized securities and derivatives — bridging digital assets with mainstream finance. “Crypto increasingly becomes the rails for finance,” said CEO Kris Marszalek. For Wall Street market-making giant Citadel Securities, it’s another deep step into crypto as TradFi and digital-asset rails converge.
Visa Launches Internal Stablecoin Platform, Adds Access to OUSD
Visa is rolling out the Visa Stablecoin Platform, an internal system letting banks and fintechs handle stablecoins within their existing Visa payment and treasury workflows.
The platform will launch with OUSD (Open Standard USD), the new stablecoin backed by 140+ companies including Visa, Stripe, Mastercard, BlackRock, and Coinbase, widely seen as a potential rival to Circle's USDC. Businesses will be able to mint and redeem OUSD without fees or volume limits.
~$40M Trapped in Morpho Markets After msUSD Depeg
Roughly $40M of depositor funds are stuck in isolated Morpho lending markets after Main Street Finance’s msUSD stablecoin depegged to ~$0.27, dragging down linked tokens msY, AVLT and AZND.
Morpho’s contracts weren’t hacked — the damage traces to curators. The AlphaUSDC Delta V2 vault (curator AlphaPing) alone had ~$18M stuck in the frozen msY/USDC market, which hit 100% utilization and ~138% borrow rates. AlphaPing also held $10M+ of AVLT exposure and pulled ~$8.5M out before the token slid ~11% — a stark reminder of curator and collateral risk in permissionless lending.
Volvo Tests a Proprietary Crypto for Supplier Payments
Volvo Group is testing an in-house cryptocurrency to settle payments across its supply chain, a senior logistics exec revealed on a Cardano Foundation podcast. It runs as an enclosed, permissioned network between Volvo, its material suppliers and its transport partners.
The token targets real operational pain — trust gaps between suppliers, slow payment reconciliation and compliance tracking — with a shared onchain ledger logging every transportation order in the network. No public or tradable token was disclosed; the crypto is internal-only, not for speculation. It builds on Volvo’s blockchain work dating back to a supply-chain traceability push it started in 2018.
The world's 10 biggest asset managers run ~$60 trillion. In crypto? Basically two of them
BlackRock hit a record $15.3T in AUM this week (+22% YoY). But its crypto products, $48.8B, were the one segment that shrank, losing $3.1B in Q2 while everything else hit records.
Zoom out and it's starker: only BlackRock and Fidelity (~$12B) hold meaningful crypto. Vanguard, the #2 manager at $11.6T, holds exactly $0 and has no plans to change that.
Crypto is 0.3% of BlackRock's book. For TradFi's giants, it's still a rounding error.
Ondo Joins DTCC’s Newest Tokenization Initiative
DTCC has gone live with its DTC Tokenization Service, running the first production trades of tokenized Russell 1000 stocks, major ETFs and US Treasuries — and Ondo Finance issued the first tokenized shares built on it.
The initiative spans 40+ firms, including BlackRock, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Nasdaq and NYSE. DTCC turns DTC-held securities into onchain “digital twins” that keep the same ownership, dividend and governance rights and convert back at will. Limited production trades are starting now, with a full commercial launch slated for October — a milestone in moving Wall Street’s core settlement plumbing onchain.
Glacis Labs Raises $6.8M Seed for ZeroDelta Clearinghouse
Crypto clearinghouse Glacis Labs raised a $6.8M seed round led by Lightspeed Faction to scale ZeroDelta, its multichain clearing layer for digital assets.
Backers include Franklin Templeton, Coinbase Ventures, Again (formerly IDC Ventures), Protein Capital and Techni Ventures. ZeroDelta nets and atomically settles onchain flows across 40+ chains — it has already cleared $1B+ at a ~$1.5B annualized run rate, starting with stablecoins and building toward tokenized securities and RWAs.
US Senate Votes Against Any Pardon for Sam Bankman-Fried
The US Senate passed a resolution saying FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried should “under no circumstances” receive a pardon or commutation — cleared by unanimous consent, with no senator objecting.
Led by Cynthia Lummis and Ruben Gallego, the measure is non-binding. “He had his day in court,” Lummis said; Gallego added, “Keep him locked up.”
SBF was convicted in 2023 on seven fraud counts over FTX’s $8B+ collapse and is not eligible for release until around 2044. The vote follows his clemency bid and Trump’s earlier pardons of CZ and Ross Ulbricht.
TownSquare Opens TOWN Public Sale on Sonar by Echo
TownSquare, a cross-chain leverage & yield layer built on Monad, has opened its TOWN public sale on Sonar, the onchain token-sale platform from Echo, backed by Coinbase. Sale terms: $200M FDV at ~$0.02 per token, 10B total supply, a ~$17.4M raise target.
TownSquare earlier raised $16.25M in a Pre-A round from World Liberty Financial, OKX, Amber Group, Animoca and others.
Upbit Parent Dunamu Faces Sanctions Over $30M Hack
South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service has opened sanction proceedings against Dunamu, Upbit’s parent, nearly eight months after a ~$30M hack drained Solana-based assets from the exchange in late 2025.
The FSS’s inspection report is only the first formal step — final penalties still run through its Sanctions Review Committee, the SFC and the FSC. Yet current Korean crypto law carries no direct sanctions for hacks or IT failures, leaving the outcome uncertain.
Airbnb CEO's X Account Compromised, Fake Tokenization Posts Appear
Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky confirmed that his X account was compromised after an attacker published a thread promoting tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), which many users criticized as being heavily AI-generated.
The posts discussed the benefits of tokenization for assets such as real estate, bonds, and funds, referencing Robinhood's recent push into tokenized assets. While the thread contained no token sale, wallet address, or investment link, it was later deleted after Chesky regained access to the account.
Apple Overtakes Nvidia as the World's Most Valuable Company
Apple has surpassed Nvidia to become the world's most valuable publicly traded company, reaching a market capitalization of approximately $4.88 trillion, while Nvidia fell to around $4.86 trillion following a decline in its share price.
Apple was last valued at about $4.88 trillion, while Nvidia stood near $4.86 trillion after a 3.5% drop. The move marks Apple’s return to the top spot for the first time since April last year, while Nvidia had held the crown since June 2025.
Bybit Launches a Licensed Exchange in Indonesia
Bybit has gone live in Indonesia with a locally licensed exchange, regulated by the country’s Financial Services Authority (OJK), after taking a majority stake in local platform PT Enkripsi Teknologi Handal (formerly NOBI).
The exchange opens with 500+ trading pairs alongside institutional-grade liquidity, market surveillance and risk controls, and Bybit plans to add more products in phases as compliance allows. A local team will run operations and regulatory engagement, backed by localized Bybit Learn education — deepening Bybit’s push into Southeast Asia’s biggest crypto market.
MegaETH Winds Down Its Mega Mafia Accelerator
MegaETH is sunsetting Mega Mafia, the accelerator that helped bootstrap its ecosystem, telling founders that “most” of its most successful apps have already left the program.
Mega Mafia incubated roughly 20 projects — from DeFi to consumer apps — but MegaETH never took equity or governance stakes, leaving graduating teams fully independent from day one. The wind-down closes a signature chapter for the real-time L2 behind the $MEGA token, with MegaETH now betting on its MegaForge builder program and MegaUSD stablecoin to carry things forward.
Binance Lists Aerodrome (AERO) With a Seed Tag
Binance is listing Aerodrome (AERO), the leading DEX on the Base network, and applying its Seed Tag — the label for innovative but higher-risk, early-stage tokens that traders must opt into.
Spot pairs: USDT, USDC, BNB, FDUSD and TRY. AERO trades near $0.49 with a ~$957M fully diluted valuation.

Polygon Labs Reshapes Business Following Coinme Acquisition
Polygon Labs is laying off employees as it completes its acquisition of Coinme and transitions from operating as a blockchain foundation to a blockchain-enabled payments company, with a target of reaching profitability in 2027.
The Coinme team will be integrated into Polygon Labs as part of a broader merger and restructuring effort. The company says the layoffs reflect a shift in organizational structure and talent needs, not the performance of departing employees.
Pascal Raises $9M to Build Institutional Prediction Markets
The New York-based startup raised $9M in a Series A led by Union Square Ventures to build a more “pro-grade” prediction market platform, adding to a $6 million seed round from Wintermute Ventures and DBA raised last August.
Founded by Ivo Crnkovic-Rubsamen (former dYdX CEO) and Matthew Downey, Pascal positions itself as a more refined, perpetual futures-style alternative to Kalshi and Polymarket — built for serious traders and institutions rather than casual bettors.
MoonPay Acquires Crypto-Deposits Startup Glide
Payments giant MoonPay has acquired Glide, a Y Combinator-backed crypto-deposits startup, in an all-equity deal. Glide’s tech lets apps accept crypto deposits and wallet funding from any chain, wallet or exchange.
The buy extends MoonPay’s rapid M&A run — after deals like Decent, DFlow and Sodot — as it builds a full-stack crypto payments and on-ramp platform. The all-equity deal’s financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 2023, Glide plugs pre-built funding flows into apps; folding it in deepens MoonPay’s push to make moving money onchain feel seamless for developers.
Base CEO Jesse Pollak Admits Its Social Bet Failed
In a confessional post, Base creator Jesse Pollak admitted his two-year bet on onchain social — Farcaster, Zora and creator coins — largely missed and even “disintegrated completely,” leaving Base trailing in perps and prediction markets.
He is handing the Base app to Cobie (Jordan Fish, whose Echo launchpad Coinbase bought for ~$375M) and refocusing Base’s infrastructure on three 2026 bets: trading, stablecoin payments and AI agents.

Tether Invests $20M in Argentine Neobank Ualá
Tether has put $20M into Ualá, one of Latin America’s biggest neobanks, as part of the fintech’s ~$197M funding round, extending the stablecoin giant’s aggressive push across the region’s fast-growing markets.
Ualá serves 11M+ customers in Argentina, Mexico and Colombia at a ~$3.2B valuation, with backers like Tencent, SoftBank and Allianz X. But its CEO cautions that local rules rule out any immediate USDT integration in the near term. So the deal reads as a strategic, future-facing bet rather than instant stablecoin distribution — part of Tether’s broader Latin America investment spree that also includes Mercado Bitcoin and the wallet Belo.
SpaceX Stock Slips Below Its $135 IPO Price
SpaceX (SPCX) has slipped under its $135 IPO price for the first time since its June 12 Nasdaq debut, marking a fresh post-IPO low for the rocket maker.
The stock had surged past $210 within days of listing, but four straight down days on profit-taking and looming share-unlock fears erased the entire post-IPO pop.
Daily closes: ~$161 on debut day → a $211 peak on Jun 16 → $135.27 on Jul 15 — about 36% off the high and right back at the $135 offering price.
Zakura: A Faster, Open-Source Zcash Full Node
Zakura, a new free and open-source full node for Zcash, shipped its v1.0.0 release — a collaboration between Sean Bowe’s Project Tachyon and Dev Ojha’s Valar Group, both funded by private ZEC donations.
Forked from Zebra and consensus-compatible with the Ironwood (NU6.3) upgrade, Zakura syncs the chain in roughly 4h20m — nearly 5× faster than Zebra — with native block pruning and published snapshots that bootstrap a fresh node in under two minutes. It also ships a zcashd compatibility mode and an experimental transport layer targeting sub-500ms block propagation, aiming to scale Zcash’s node infrastructure.
