well, two entirely different things. Spending has nothing to do with it. They are called "income" taxes for a reason, only when you earn/receive income or realize gains/losses.
Читать полностью…if your holdings are currently in the red, consider a wash sale to realize capital losses to offset capital gains for the year. You can't do this in trad-fi, but since crypto is property, you can sell and buy back same day without any issue. Lock in the loss on paper, if needed.

I’m just manually making my spreadsheet. I don’t trust Koinly or any others although I have that too just in case.
Читать полностью…The problem is koinly rely on the explorer and have issue aswell. Guess we have to wait

Many transactions not showing on the explorer.
Nope, not realize. "Realize" is the wrong word, except when you sell.
"Yes" to moving there when your crypto assets are low.
They make u "earmark" your existing gain/losses when u move there. But you don't pay the NonPR tax until you sell.
Читать полностью…Clearly not an exit tax, but, yes, if u move in a bear market, the cost basis of your assets will be lower, which means lower income or gain apportioned to nonPR income and higher apportioned to PR income when you sell an asset.
Читать полностью…I don't believe there is an exit tax if you move there from another part of the u.s., unlike renouncing u.s. citizenship. However, when u sell an asset, there will be a distinction between non-PR income and PR income, which would be based on when you changed residency (from nonPR to PR).

Читать полностью…I’m kinda kidding.. I still pay taxes, and crypto taxes… but I don’t use Koinly and I don’t give them everthing
Also haven’t realized a ton of gains
Pretty crazy to hear. Not saying that is correct. But when I looked for my taxes at the same place where I bought my tokens (coinbase) and it shows 0 in "profit" .
Paying your for dashboard money is like paying on a lotto scratch off, winning it big on that paper.. paying taxes before you make the transaction to get the money to begin with at the register lol. You kno? Where I bought in to crypto I haven't sold back yet to the dollar. Haven't had any problems for years.. just sharing my experience. Hope this helps people sleep better at night if you got unrealized huge gains
A standard part of a settlement is no admission of wrongdoong, so the settlement can't be used against you in another matter.

Читать полностью…can you explain me in simple words, how to have issue when we can view everything on the blockchain ?
Читать полностью…they have had some hosting issues, I believe. The team is working on it, but you can try some of the alternate explorers like Otter or 9mm
Читать полностью…I can confirm I have the same issue. I get the following message error on Koinly: "Something went wrong while syncing, try again in a few minutes or contact support." And, I know this worked prior. I can no longer sync too. 😩
Читать полностью…But they make you realize your existing gains/losses on your current crypto when you move there. Hence the suggestion to move there when prices are low.
Читать полностью…I'm not sure if the actual term is "exit tax", but I've watched multiple of crypto youtubers (including RH) saying to move to Puerto Rico during a bear market because you'll pay taxes at a lower price.
