What happened in Crypto in the last 12h:
• $BTC - BTC fell below $97K, touching $96.3K and is currently trading around $96.8K, down about 5% in 24 hours.
• $XRP - Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared a photo on X Channel today of Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty and U.S. President-elect Trump having dinner with him at Mar-a-Lago on Monday night.
• Elon Musk recently spoke about the topic of payments on the X platform during an X Stream. Musk stated that there are no immediate plans to use cryptocurrency for payments, citing the need for licensing.
• $SONIC - Sonic SVM is now listed on various exchanges, including OKX and Bybit. It will also be listed on the Upbit KRW pair today, but the exact time has not yet been announced. Deposits and withdrawals of $SONIC on Upbit will be available starting at 3AM UTC.
• Backpack Exchange has officially acquired FTX EU with the approval of the FTX bankruptcy court. Backpack will expand its derivatives business in Europe. They will also distribute ~€53m($55m) in FTX bankruptcy claims to FTX EU customers.
• $USUAL - Revenue distribution switch will start when 50% or more $USUALx are staked or on February 1st. 100% of the monthly protocol revenue is distributed directly to USUALx stakers. At current revenue levels, this translates to approximately $5 million per month.
