■ KANNADA LITERATURE:
◇ Earliest Kannada inscriptions date from the 5th/6th century onwards, but the oldest surviving piece of literature in this language is the Kavirajamarga (The Royal Road of the Poets), a 9th century work on poetics.
◇ The best known poets of the 10th century were Pampa, Ponna, and Ranna, all of whom wrote Jaina Puranas.
◇ Pampa, author of the Adi Purana (an account of the life of the first tirthankara Rishabha or Adinatha), also wrote the Vikramarjunavijaya, based on the Mahabharata story.
◇ Ponna wrote both in Sanskrit and in Kannada, and was given the title of Ubhaya-kavichakravarti.
◇ Chavunda Raya wrote the Trishashtilakshana Mahapurana, an account of the 24 Jaina saints, in continuous prose.
◇ In the 12th century, Nagachandra or Abhinava Pampa wrote the Ramachandracharitra Purana.
◇ Kannada works of the 12th century include Neminatha’s Lilavati which tells the love story of a Kadamba prince and a beautiful princess.

Amarkantak Mountain Range:
▪️ The Amarkantak region is a unique natural heritage area and is the meeting point of the Vindhya and the Satpura Ranges, with the Maikal Hills being the fulcrum.

Loktak lake
🧤Located in the state of Manipur, it’s the largest freshwater lake in Northeast India.
🧤Known for its floating circular swamps, which are called phumdis in the local tongue.
🧤The lake houses the only floating national park in the world, the Keibul Lamjao National Park, which is the last refuge of the endangered brow-antlered deer or sangai, Manipur’s state animal.
🧤Loktak lake was initially designated as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar convention in 1990
🧤Later it was also listed under the Montreux record in 1993
Irula Tribe:
✅Irulas are one of India’s oldest indigenous communities and they are a particularly vulnerable tribal group.
✅They live primarily in the northern districts of Tamil Nadu, as well as in parts of Kerala and Karnataka.
✅They speak Irula, which is related to Dravidian languages like Tamil and Kannada.
✅Irulas have traditionally caught snakes and rats, but they also work as labourers.
✅Irulas' knowledge of snakes and snake venom is legendary.They can even locate snakes based on their tracks, smell, and droppings.
✅The Irula Snake Catchers' Industrial Cooperative Society is a major producer of anti-snake venom (ASV) in the country.

🔆What is Ibisbill?
✅It is a bird which belongs to the family Ibidorhynchidae. It is the only species in this family.
✅It is a charismatic and uncommon wader seen in the Himalayas and foothills of India.
✅Scientific Name: bidorhyncha struthersii
✅Distribution:
They are common in Central Asia and the Himalayas.
✅They are found in India, Pakistan, Central Asian countries Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and China.
✅Habitat:
It lives at high altitudes near rivers.
✅They exhibit altitudinal migration, breeding in the higher reaches of the mountains and descending to lower elevations during winters.
📍Features:
✅It is a medium-sized wader, measuring 38 to 42 cm in length and weighing 270 to 320 grams.
✅It has a long, downward curved and sharply-pointed pink bill; a grey body; a white belly with a black band on its chest; and a black face
✅The sexes are similar, which makes this species monomorphic as well.
They are good swimmers.
✅Conservation Status:
IUCN: Least Concern.

✅It is an organic compound produced by certain types of bacteria.

Bacterial cellulose (BC) is recognized as a multifaceted, versatile biomaterial with abundant applications.
