The platform for the functionality is the launcher. Icons and so change automatically instantly (look in the application of icons). Also on Lawnchair and Hyperion. Nova will not add support for themed icons yet, they need to be reapplied after changing the wallpaper. That is 100% a Samsung issue.
Their knock off version of the Monet Theming System is to blame. Samsung does not design to Google Standards.

I could see this if I factor in all of the lower mid-range devices. I can only speak from my Pixel 5 experience ... I can repeatedly change my wall colors and never get an issue with icon refresh. 😁

You are actually 100% wrong and could not be more wrong.

These icon packs work perfectly and accurately as instructed by the Official Google Thematic (monochrome) icon standards.

On Hyperion they work exactly 100% accurately.
On Lawnchair they work exactly 100% accurately.
On Niagara they work exactly 100% accurately.

These three launchers process the thematic monochrome icons exactly as they should.

Of course Pixel Launcher processes Pasha's icon packs faster and smoother as it is the standard from which everyone else builds upon.

So to say the icons are useless (when they can be used with 100% accuracy on various launchers) ... you and your entire family should feel shame and disgrace for such nonsense, inaccurate comments.

For your reference ...
The correct package name for the officially purchased Nova Prime has already been added to the icon pack and it already applies correctly and accurately without having to manually set it.
