✅ The research focuses on the evolutionary ecology of alpine plants, exploring the intersections of evolutionary genomics, functional ecology, community ecology, and global change. The student will spend three months (June-August) in the field and the academic year at UCR.

✅ The Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Lab led by Dr. Tianren Wu is seeking two highly motivated Ph.D. students to work on indoor air chemistry research projects, starting in Spring or Fall of 2025. The research includes characterizing indoor air pollutants using a high-resolution chemical ionization mass spectrometer (CIMS), with projects focusing on VOC dynamics and the formation of highly oxygenated organic molecules (HOMs) from indoor ozonolysis reactions.
Candidates should hold an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, chemical engineering, chemistry, atmospheric chemistry, civil engineering, or related fields. A master’s degree and experience in mass spectrometry or aerosol measurements are desirable but not required. Proficiency with Matlab, Python, or other programming languages is also preferred.
