Why Dreamcatcher would benefit from an official sub-unit
I've thought about this for a while but obviously now that Yaja Time is coming back I've wondered why Dreamcatcher never had an official sub-unit. I totally believe they could pull it off, there's much smaller companies that managed to debut one. It's also not their age, they're in their 8th year. Also pls no comments about their schedule, this is all obviously only if the members want it and if they have the time. I just want to throw some ideas around.
The benefits, even if the project fails (they could just dungeon the unit), would be quite nice:
- The members said they want to try some new things. They are smart enough to not stray from rock tt but a unit would technically allow them to do anything. Yes some people would freak out at first but as a sub-unit no concept is off-limits.
- Something for the pop lovers. I have to admit I don't like the pop song slander whenever they rarely occur. Airplane and Together aren't their best songs but they're also not terrible. Feels a bit weird how some people make a big deal out of it when it's just another genre they experiment with. Also they're still kpop and can get a little weird, or try something like city pop which was well received with Alldaylong. That doesn't mean they'd have to stick to mainstream pop but idk an elegant concept like IVE or something experimental like Red Velvet would go hard. I could also imagine Yaja Time exploring the more light side of bg like in their covers, kind of like the other side to their main concept that feels more bg than ever with Ateez producers. But I'd honestly love a girly girl concept.
- Members can shine differently. Gahyeon for example doesn't really shine on masculine concepts and we know the other members also have a wide range. Siyeon could finally rap, or other members. Also given about 3-4 members lesser pushed members could take the main position, and the producers could get a little more experimental.
- The schedule would actually be better for the members not in the unit, and there's a bigger exposure than trying to go solo. I could make another post about who would have the biggest chances but I think everyone is aware that not all 7 will succeed even if they wanted. Anyway it's evident just from their channel that covers with either a popular song or with more than one of them does better than solo ones.
That's my thoughts on this, does anyone want a sub-unit too and who could you imagine being good together? And what genre / concept would you like to see?

Watched Everglow's new MV yesterday and it sounded familiar. Then it clicked its the sound from Dreamcatcher's PIRI intro. Is it a common noise in music or does it seem like Everglow sampled Dreamcatcher?
