India, Israel conduct joint security drill in Delhi.

The drill was held against the backdrop of heightened security for the Israeli mission in New Delhi following the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict last October.

The Israeli embassy collaborated with Indian security forces to conduct a joint security drill in New Delhi that was aimed at assessing the readiness of security personnel to counter potential future threats.

The security drill, conducted last week, was joined by the Union home ministry, Delhi Police, National Security Guard (NSG) and local emergency services such as the fire department and traffic police, the Israeli embassy said in a statement on Wednesday.

In a major breakthrough, Security Forces have recovered a large cache of weapons including eleven 82 mm Mortars, four RCL Tubes, ten Pistols & 199 Radio Sets and Satellite Phones. Op was code named as Cloudburst.

Dedicated efforts from the Indian Navy and Andaman & Nicobar Command have resulted in the installation of new AFLS (Airfield Ground Lighting Systems), PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator), and Cat II Approach Lighting System at INS Utkrosh. This means Port Blair airport is now a Precision Instrument Runway, enabling night landings and operations in poor visibility, making it an All weather airfield.

CBI recovered a large number of arms and ammunition including foreign-made Postal & Revolvers during searches at Sandeshkhali in a case related to violence against Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials.

During searches, the following articles have been recovered:-
3 foreign-made Revolvers.
1 Indian Revolver.
1 Colt Official Police Revolver.
1 Foreign-made Pistol.
1 country-made Pistol.
9 mm bullets- 120 nos.
.45 calibre cartridges – 50 nos.
9 mm calibre cartridges-120 nos.
.380 cartridges -50 nos.
.32 cartridges- 08 nos.

Many incriminating documents related to Former TMC leader SK Shahjahan have also been recovered. Some items suspected to be country-made bombs have also been recovered which are being handled and disposed off by the teams from NSG.

The search is still underway.

India has successfully carried out trials of the Supersonic Missile Assisted Release of Torpedo anti-submarine missile system off the coast of Balasore, Odisha. The missile system is being developed for the Indian Navy by the Defence Research and Development Organisation.

Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Tuesday took over as India’s 26th chief of naval staff, succeeding Admiral R Hari Kumar who held the top post for two years and five months.

An alumnus of Sainik School, Rewa and National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, he was commissioned into the navy on July 1, 1985.

He was the vice chief of naval staff before taking charge of the service.

After taking charge, Tripathi said, “Over the years, the navy has evolved into a combat-ready force. The existing and emerging challenges in the maritime domain mandate that the Indian Navy should always remain operationally ready to deter potential adversaries at sea in peace, and to win the war at and from the sea when asked to do so. This will remain my singular focus and endeavour.”

He added that another priority would be to strengthen the ongoing efforts of the navy towards Atmanirbharta and introducing new technologies.
