US$ 2.63 Billion) in the Financial Year (FY) 2023-24, a growth of 32.5% over the last fiscal when the figure was Rs 15,920 crore. The recent figures indicate that the defence exports have grown by 31 times in the last 10 years as compared to FY 2013-14.

Report: The Indian Air Force disclosed that the accidental firing of a BrahMos missile into Pakistan in March 2022 was due to combat connectors remaining connected to the junction box. The convoy commander failed to ensure safe transit by not disconnecting the connectors prior to movement. This incident affected India-Pakistan relations, leading to the termination of three officials invoking the "President's pleasure" clause, a decision not taken in the IAF for 23 years. Wing Commander UN Pathak confirmed this decision in a reply to the Delhi High Court.
The incident caused a loss to the tune of ₹25 crore to the government exchequer, it said, adding that the Indian Air Force's ‘reputation was damaged as well.’

After successfully forcing surrender of the nine armed pirates, #IndianNavy’s specialist teams have completed sanitisation & seaworthiness checks of FV Al-Kambar.
The crew comprising 23 Pakistani nationals were given a thorough medical checkup prior to clearing the boat to continue with her fishing activities.
The pirates are being brought to #India for further legal action in accordance with the Maritime Anti-Piracy Act of 2022.
INS Sumedha intercepted FV Al-Kambar during early hours of 29 Mar 24 & was joined subsequently by the guided missile frigate INS Trishul.
After more than 12 hrs of intense coercive tactical measures as per the SOPs, the pirates on board the hijacked FV were forced to surrender. The crew, comprising 23 Pakistani nationals, have been safely rescued.
Indian Naval specialist teams are presently undertaking thorough sanitisation & seaworthiness checks of the FV in order to escort her to a safe area for resuming normal fishing activities.
Based on the inputs on a potential piracy incident onboard the Iranian Fishing Vessel 'Al Kamar 786' late evening on 28 March, two Indian Naval ships, mission deployed in the Arabian Sea for maritime security operations were diverted to intercept the hijacked fishing vessel. The FV at the time of the incident was approximately 90 Nm southwest of Socotra and was reported to have been boarded by nine armed pirates. The hijacked FV has been intercepted on 29 March. The operation is currently underway by the Indian Navy towards the rescue of hijacked FV and its crew. Indian Navy remains committed to ensuring maritime security in the region and the safety of seafarers, irrespective of their nationalities.
