When David came against Goliath, he firstly attacked him with words. David said, “This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you…” (1 Samuel 17:46). Those words weren’t just to make him feel good; rather, these were the things he believed.

Like David, your words are living and full of power. They can change things and turn situations around in your favour. This is why you must watch what you say.

So, fill your heart with the Word of God through study and meditation, and declare it in faith.

A lot of ingredients go into baking bread. Of all the ingredients needed, the most important is the dough. In the same way, success in life has ingredients too. One of the most important ingredients for a life of success is instruction!

Following instructions, no matter how simple they may seem, is very important. Joshua followed the Lord's instructions and he successfully brought down the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6:3,20).

Learn to listen to, and follow instructions, especially from the Lord, and His Word because that's the key for your success!

The tongue is a small part of your body, but it can do a whole lot of good or damage. With it, you can speak words to create life, bless, heal, and establish the plans of God in your life.

However, to see all these beautiful things in your life and others, you must learn to use your tongue rightly. Use it to create a life of blessings and prosperity for yourself.

You must cultivate the habit of speaking wholesome, honest, and godly words as you fill your heart with the Word, "...for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" (Matthew 12:34).

The title of today's article reminds me of a beautiful song I learnt many years ago. It goes thus:

All things bright and beautiful All creatures great and small All things wise and wonderful 'Twas God that made them all.

The Lord made everything you see, both great and small. He made them special and unique, and they're all precious in His sight. So, treat God's creation with kindness and care. Don't say unkind words to your pets at home, or make a habit of stomping plants; that's not an excellent way to behave. Take care of everything around you with dignity and honour, for your heavenly Father made them all.

Tom is a young, kind, and very intelligent boy. When his friend, Mike, had some problems with Mathematics, Tom offered to help. As Mike practiced his sums, he got better, and their teacher noticed his improvement. Mike excitedly told his teacher about how Tom helped him out, and everyone applauded Tom for being helpful and kind.

Don’t shy away from helping others. Because when you help people, the Lord will lift you up, and point others to emulate what you do. Besides, you become better at what you help others with.

Did you know gardening is a lot of work? It sure is! You have to prepare the soil before you plant the seeds. And then you have to keep caring for what you’ve planted by watering them regularly. Sometimes, you might even need to add fertilizer to help the plants grow. Your heart is like a garden.

Therefore, before you study God’s Word, it’s important to get ready to receive all that He’s prepared for you. How? By preparing the ground of your heart, tilling and fertilizing it through prayer. Also, continually water the seeds with thanksgiving. Before long, you’ll begin to see the result of the Word-seed sown in your life.

Some people may not like you because you pray all the time, read your Bible, and talk a lot about Jesus. But don’t let that stop you from being faithful. Keep showing your love for the Lord by continuing in these things.

The Bible tells us that Daniel was hated by some people around him, especially the great men in his country, all because he expressed his love for the Lord every day. Well, he remained faithful to the Lord and even increased his time of prayer every day. Their hatred and persecution couldn’t stop him. Though he was arrested and thrown into the lions’ den, the Lord delivered him nonetheless. Praise God!

This is how a child of God must live. You must remain faithful to Him no matter the situation or persecution. Don’t let anyone stop you from serving the Lord.

The Lord Jesus spoke to both living and non-living things; they heard Him, and did what He said. Once, He told a fig tree to dry up, and it did. At another time, He told a raging storm to be still, and it obeyed. He even spoke to the dead to come alive, and they did.

Just like Jesus, when you have faith in God’s Word, you can have whatever you say. That’s why it’s important not to say things that don’t align with His Word. Always say words that’ll lift, and show the excellent spirit in you! Hallelujah!

As a child of God, the Bible says that you shall prosper in anything you do (Psalm 1:3). The important thing here is you must be doing something; if you’re not doing anything because you’re lazy, there won’t be success or prosperity. That’s to say, you can’t afford to be lazy.

How did Joseph, a prisoner, end up as the Prime Minister of Egypt, next only to the Pharaoh? Though he was favoured by the Lord, he was also diligent and used his gift to serve others, and God promoted him.

So, if you want to be the best in your school, you’ve got to get serious with your school work; pay attention to your teachers, study your notes and do all your assignments on time. Once you do these, God will see to it that you become the best.

Have you ever been afraid to go out and play with your friends because of a bully in the neighbourhood? Well, I’m sure if you decide to take a walk around your neighbourhood with your dad, that bully wouldn’t dare show up. So you see, bullies target only those who are defenseless, like the devil does.

The devil is a bully, and also a coward. I want you to know that he’s scared of you because God is with you, and inside you. Hallelujah!

Now, you can stand up to the devil in the Name of Jesus, and he’ll flee from you. That’s how to resist him from having any control over your life and that of others.

I often tell people that I’ve never met anyone I didn’t like. I’ve also made up my mind to love the way God loves because everyone is loveable. More so, it’s the right attitude to have as a Christian.

The Bible tells us God gave up His Son because of His love for the whole world (John 3:16). By the way, that isn’t referring to the world of plants, trees, animals and other physical things on earth, but the world of men, that is sinners!

In His eyes, everyone is beautiful, and that’s the reason He loves us so much. That love causes Him to look beyond our errors. If God could love sinners who didn’t even want Him, it means you and I can love everyone. The Bible tells us to imitate God as His beloved children (Ephesians 5:1). So, God expects you to love everyone just as He loves them.

Today’s memory scripture was Paul’s admonition to Timothy. Apostle Paul understood that it was only God’s Word that could make Timothy wise. So, he encouraged him to spend a lot of time learning and studying the Word (2 Timothy 2:15).

Therefore, pay attention to the Word as you study your favourite daily devotional: Rhapsody of Realities for Early Readers, or during fellowship times with the Lord. As you do, it’ll make you wiser.

Therefore, take charge of your school, neighbourhood, family, and nation through your faith-filled words. Do not allow the enemy a foothold around you. And use the Name of Jesus to establish God's will wherever you are. Hallelujah!

Jimmy was chosen by his teacher to be the class captain. So, he was in charge of coordinating the students in his class, and getting them settled for lessons. This was a special assignment because out of the whole class, the teacher trusted Jimmy with it.

God has given you an assignment too. It's an assignment of winning souls! He wants you to preach the Gospel to your neighbours, friends, family, and everyone around you. He trusts you to be dutiful about this task (1 Timothy 1:11).

So, tell someone about Jesus today as you get busy with this sacred task.

A refuge is a place of safety and security. When you were born again, the Lord became not just your Father, but also your Protector. That means, He's your safety and security.

Today's memory verse were the words of David. These were his thoughts and confessions about the Lord and his rela relationship with Him. No wonder he lived an amazing life. I encourage you to have the same thoughts and make these your confessions too.

Declare boldly that the Lord is your refuge and your fortress, and that will remain your experience and testimony every day and forever. Hallelujah!

Just going to school isn't enough to be excellent in your studies. You have to pay attention in class, do your homework, and study hard. If you don't listen to your teachers, then you're not a good student, and you most likely won't have the best grades.

In the same way, if you want to grow spiritually, you've got to let the Holy Spirit teach you. The Bible says He's the Spirit of truth because He knows everything and can teach you about all things.

Therefore, spend quality time with Him in fellowship. As you study the Word and pray in tongues often, He'll teach you all things including your school works

BUILD YOUR FAITH

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

Just as houses are built, you can build your faith too. Houses are built with bricks and cement, but your faith is built with God's Word.

Remember, God has given to everyone the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). But it's your responsibility to build yours and make it effective.

Build your faith by studying or listening to the Word. It's the only ingredient for building your faith. So, So, study study it it diligently every day. It could be the Word being taught in church or from the Rhapsody of Realities for Early Readers.

Our Lord Jesus Christ has given you the right to choose, the right to live, and the right to rule. It simply means you’ve got the right to take charge and have dominion.

Finally, the following are points to note:

1. You’ve got the right to choose, to live, and to rule.

2. You’ve got your own world, and it’s your sphere of contact. This is where you dominate and exercise your rights.

3. You’ve got the right to take charge and have dominion in your world.

When I was much younger in the Lord, the question I was often asked was, “What’s the secret behind your excitement and zeal?” My answer was always “the Holy Spirit.” The Holy Spirit is the secret of Christianity.

There’s no Christianity without the Holy Spirit. You won’t know anything about your new life in Christ Jesus until you receive Him. He’s my Friend, and His presence in and with me makes me tick. It’s time to receive Him into your heart if you haven’t yet done so. Ask Him to come and live in you, and He will.

Think about it for a moment. You’re a member of a family. In the family, you’re either a son, a daughter, a brother, a sister, a cousin, a niece or a nephew based on your relationship with all the other people in your family. Isn’t it amazing that as one person, you could be so many things to different people? Well, God is that way too!

In today’s opening scripture, God introduced Himself to Moses in a brand-new way. That means Moses got to know and walk with Him in a way none of the patriarchs before him did. It means the more you get to know God, the more you see His many sides.

So, don’t get comfortable with what you know already. There’s more to learn about God as you uncover the many sides of your heavenly Father!

Peter used that Name to heal a lame man at the gate of the temple called “Beautiful”. He looked the man straight in the eye and said, ...I command you in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk! Then, Peter took him by the hand and pulled him up. Immediately, the lame man got up, jumping and praising God. Hallelujah! (Acts 3:1-8).

That Name still has power today because “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). The Name of Jesus is a miracle working Name; the Name still performs and creates miracles even today.

Use the Name today, and always, for it’s an all-powerful name!

Some children have been taught that they’ve got to beg God to do whatever they’re asking of Him when they pray. That idea is incorrect and wrong!

Now that you’re born again, you don’t need to beg God for anything. Look at the opening scripture again. It says you should “obtain mercy”. The word ‘obtain’ is from the Greek word ‘lambano’, which means to ‘grab’ or ‘take’. That’s why it’s wrong for you to beg God for anything.

Besides, He’s already done everything He ever needs to do for you. When Jesus died, He paid the full price for everything you’d ever need in life. Therefore, when you pray, be bold to obtain whatever you want. Hold your head up high with confidence, and thank Him because He’s already given you everything to enjoy.

There’s something about the child of God that distinguishes him from the rest of the world. This is also the reason the devil is unable to harm or destroy him. I’m referring to the fact that he’s born of God; therefore, he’s got a new life that’s quite different from the rest of the world.

So, you need not to worry about anything or anyone in your life because “…you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God’s Spirit is in you and is more powerful than the one that is in the world” (1 John 4:4 CEV).

So, build a rich relationship with the Holy Spirit in you because He’s your advantage in life.

Faith and hope aren’t the same. The person living on hope says, “God will heal me someday,” or “I believe I’ll have the money someday.” But when you’re walking by faith you say, “I’m already healed because God’s Word says so;” and “I’ve got all that I need because the Bible says I’m rich.” That’s what faith is all about! Faith means saying what you believe, and making bold declarations.

Faith is in the now, and it depends on God’s Word. Hope, on the other hand looks to the future. Hope will give you nothing, but with your faith you can possess all things!

The title of today’s devotion are the words of Simon Peter. He and his crew had been fishing all night and didn’t catch any fish. When they got back to shore, the Lord Jesus told them to throw their nets back into the sea for a great catch.

Even though Peter was really tired and feeling down because he worked hard all night and caught nothing, he still carried out the Lord’s instruction. And you know what? They caught a lot of fish! Their nets were so full they began to tear! It's important to trust in the Lord because He's dependable.
