Yayoi Kusama - Flower Obsession, 2018
"One day, after looking at the pattern of red flowers on the tablecloth, I looked up and saw that the ceiling, windows and pillars seemed to be colored with the same red flower pattern. I saw the whole room, my whole body and the whole universe covered in red flowers, and in that moment my soul was destroyed.... It was not an illusion, but reality itself...."

What's wrong with a painting by an Italian Renaissance artist?
The painting “Dead Christ” by Andrea Mantegna was supposedly painted in 1490. The painting remained in his studio until the author's death and was found after the artist's death. Currently, the work is in the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan.
The dead body of Christ is depicted unusually for the Renaissance. The body is depicted from the side of the Savior's feet. We can see the head, feet and hands with wounds. And all this from the side of feet. The pose is not quite ordinary and requires certain skills from the artist. It seems that Andrea Mantegna did not follow the rules of perspective.
Any artist will immediately notice that the feet of the legs are reduced in the painting and the head is enlarged. Christ's head is too large because it is farthest from the observer. His torso and arms are well defined. But... his legs seem too short compared to his torso, and his feet too small for his body as a whole.
Imagine this figure standing up straight. You'd see a rather large head on a small, short torso with legs that are only about a quarter of his height in length, all resting on feet that are too small to support the body.

“Anniversary”
Walid Ebeid
The women on the canvases of Cairo artist Walid Ebeid are beautiful, but far from happy. The circumstances of their lives are ambiguous, and the prospects look extremely sad.
Most likely, the heroine of this picture was given in marriage as a very young girl to a respectable man of age. This is the custom in Muslim countries. Now the woman is about 40 years old. Her spouse is an old man for her, but she cannot leave him in their culture. She has to put up with it.
The wife's look of doom and helplessness shows that there is no harmony, no love and care. And there will be no more. Sorrowful hopelessness is evident in the appearance of the former beauty.

The struggle with self in the paintings of a Canadian artist
Adam Lapton's paintings are created on the principle of photographs with a long exposure. Except that it is rather a fixation of mental experiences, visualization of the state of anxiety, when negative thoughts torment a person, fill all his nature.
The artist paints oil paintings. They are expressive and emotional: fuzzy lines, streams of paint, translucent figures of people. It is difficult to focus on one thing - this is the feeling a person has when something bothers him, gnaws at him.
