Harsh Socialist Realism by Gely Korzhev
Soviet artist Geli Korzhev, according to many art historians, a bright representative of the severe style. In his paintings he depicted strong feelings and borderline situations - tragedies, devastation after the loss of loved ones, situations in the war, where he paid attention not to the bravura-parade glorification of heroes and their exploits, but to the truth of life.

“Awakening of Conscience”
William Hunt
Hidden symbols of the painting:
The girl does not have a wedding ring on her hands, which means that the man is not her husband.
The cat under the table is playing with a dead bird, which symbolizes the plight of the woman who finds herself a plaything in the hands of a rich lover.
The tangled yarn on the floor symbolizes the spider's web in which the heroine of the painting has fallen, having found herself a lover.
A glove thrown on the floor can say that once the girl was abandoned by a man or was driven out of the house, as a result of which she was forced to become a kept woman.
The position of a kept woman is also symbolized by a gold watch framed by a statue of a woman under a transparent hood.
The upside-down reflection in the mirror signifies innocence lost, and the sunbeam suggests that there is still hope for redemption.

German hyperrealist artist
Philipp Weber paints incredible, almost photographically accurate paintings
At the center of his work are women, necessarily beautiful, confident and, often, mysterious.
In his work Weber is incredibly versatile. Some of his pop realism masterpieces are like beautifully staged advertisements. Others, on the contrary, take us to the strict canons of the Renaissance. At the same time, all of the master's works are characterized by high realism and attention to detail!

Italian photographer Sandro Giordano is the author of a series of photographic paintings titled “In Extreme Case - Bodies Without Regret”. By manipulating photographs of episodes from everyday life, he creates confusing and often hilarious situations depicting people in the moment after a fall.
Giordano says:
“My photographs are about people who live at a grueling pace and because of this experience sudden blackouts when the demands of the modern world become too much to handle. Our body rebels against this and refuses to obey the brain, wreaking havoc...”

Peter Paul Rubens “Susanna and the Elders”, 1609
The painting is based on a biblical story from the Book of Daniel. Beautiful and pious Susanna decided to seduce two elders. They hid near the bath in Susanna's garden and when she was alone, they attacked her.
The elders threatened that if she did not give herself to them, they would accuse her of adultery with a young man, a crime punishable by death.
Susanna broke free and began to cry out, begging for help. Then the elders made a public statement that they had seen Susanna with a young man under a tree. Susanna was accused and sentenced to death.
But the prophet Daniel appeared and asked each of the elders under which tree they had seen Susanna committing sin. When he received different answers, he accused them of perjury. Susanna was acquitted and the lecherous elders were executed.

“A little girl watching lovers on a train”
Norman Rockwell, 1944.
To create a picture with such photographic accuracy, the artist first made a photo of all the characters in the right place, and then from the photo began to transfer to the canvas.
The lovers are so engrossed in each other that they do not even notice a little girl in a burgundy hat looking at them point-blank. She is the main character of this painting.
The idea for this painting came to the artist while traveling on a train carrying military personnel and their families. There he saw a young couple in love and immediately decided to paint a romantic painting with this subject.
