The most outrageous aspect of the East Palestine situation is the fact that residents were told it was safe to return when serious questions remain about air and water quality in the area.

One thing no one is talking about is temporarily housing these people outside the affected area and compensating them for lost work and legally protecting them from layoffs etc.

Because no one wants to pay for it, not the state, not the federal govt and not Norfolk Southern. Because the residents are almost entirely White and working class they have no advocates.

The loudest voices of outrage are coming from environmental groups worried about fish and wildlife. While that is fine and is to be expected, unlike the fish, the actual people don't have any serious advocates with access to power.

Illegal immigrants are being housed in hotels in NYC, in one case the city is paying $93k per day to a Holiday Inn, and planning on paying for it with a $3 billion federal grant. Yet a few thousand White Americans living in the site of a toxic disaster are told to return home because no level of government or corporate America is willing to pay for a hotel room for them.

White children were punched, thrown to the ground and ordered to say "Black Lives Matter" while teachers did nothing at Kenwood Elementary School in Springfield, Ohio.

The residents of East Palestine, Ohio and nearby communities are likely to see little if any actual justice for the ecological and economic disaster which has just befallen their area.

The United States is one of the few countries in the world where rail infrastructure is largely owned by private companies, despite having been made possible by public land grants and tax dollars.

Yet this infrastructure is not used for a public good, and is controlled by oligopolies.

Amtrak is underinvested in, and sidelined by the major freight owners. Bypasses and dual track lines are ripped up, and workers are mistreated.

If, like most of the developed world, the United States had state ownership of railway lines and related infrastructure, the people of East Palestine would have somewhere to turn and people to hold accountable.

As it stands now there is no one to be held accountable, as the Federal and state courts are likely to shelter Norfolk Southern from responsiblity.

All 160,000 miles of US railways should be nationalized and placed under the oversight of the respective states. Passenger rail and affordable freight rail should become priorities.

Just as the recently scorned railway workers demanded, and to ensure that never again will a community like East Palestine be left without someone to hold accountable.

BREAKING UPDATE! Reports out of Ohio state that chemicals from the train derailment and explosion in East Palestine have “contaminated” the Ohio River as far as West Virginia, a source of water for more than 5 million people, per West Virginia governor Jim Justice.

This past weekend was the anathema to internet nationalism. We need the internet as a stepping stone but it is not an end goal in itself. We brought hundreds of men, women, and children into the same room and experienced the most significant experience that a nationalist can; community and camaraderie. When we’re together in that way, the monotony and (sometimes) toxicity of internet culture melts away entirely. The quality of these individuals cannot be overstated; absolutely the best people you could ever hope to know in your life. Meeting these people for the first time feels like coming home.

Events like Saturday’s remind us why we do what we do. The energy generated by hundreds of your comrades and their families is indescribable, infinitely more meaningful than any digital engagement. For a long time, nationalism was something of a boy’s club (no offense boys) but that is no longer the case. Evergreen and the NJP are cultivating a movement that is holistic and comprehensive, an ecosystem that exists to support and advocate for all White people and their families. This weekend saw more families than ever and it is absolutely beautiful to watch our community evolve into something that honors the most fundamental unit of the White race.

The growth that we’re currently seeing in both the NJP and in Evergreen boggles the mind- new vetting requests every single day, new faces at every single event. If you were unsure about nature of the IRL culture then this is your sign to reach out and get vetted, this is the future.

All that said, please be patient with vetting! We have so many requests which is amazing, but does take time.
