Ans.
To: hrp259@yahoo.com
Subject : How to improve your English
Dear Hirva,
I am happy to know that you are doing well in your studies. I agree with you that you have not done well in English.
Hirva, I advise you to listen to English news on TV and read English newspapers every day. This will help you to improve your vocabulary. Buy a good dictionary that will help you to know the correct spellings and pronunciation of new words and also understand their meanings. Try to speak in English as much as possible. Do not feel shy or be frightened to make mistakes. You will learn from your mistakes. If possible, select a topic and write a small paragraph expressing your feelings about it. You may request your teacher to read it and point out your mistakes.
Pritesh, I am sure you will be good in English very soon. All the best.
Yours lovingly,
Charmi OR

🟢 For last several years, I have been talking about my freedom. I remember the day when you objected to my dress and hair. That day you appeared to me like an 'evil dictators' (absolute rulers), who would never understand my style, my personality. The next day, you did not allow me to go out. I was fiercely-angry on you. We were on opposite sides and there seemed no meeting grounds. Now, when I recall this incident, I also remember how you appreciated my choice when we had to buy a gift for Asmi. I also recall how after getting angry on me for the bad report card for a few hours, both of you came into my room and explained what I should do to score more marks. 😟 30. Benefits of 'Screen exercise' and 'Anticipating success' techniques
Ans. When you are taken over with emotions clear thinking is dimmed. Process of decision taking is endangered. Screen exercise helps detach yourself emotionally from the current situation and settle in clear thinking. Here you have to imagine what another person would do in your situation. This will help you to evaluate the problem more clearly. If we close our eyes and think on the current situation causing stress. We project a picture on the screen of our mind as if it were a film. You have to imagine what really happened and not what might happen. After some time you will be relieved of stress. When life becomes hectic and nothing seems easy, we develop pessimistic ideas. They dominate our mind. We can overcome this situation by Anticipating success. This is a result of optimistic thinking. To remedy the situation, close your eyes and mediate. This helps to clear the current crisis. You experience a great relief.

😀 29. Journey of Walt Disney's success :
Ans. Walt was a common child like others but he was different from others too. Walt earned his first nickel by drawing a sketch of his neighbour's horse. He studied cartooning in Chicago. He started an animation company in Kansas City, which flopped. At the age of 21. He borrowed $ 500 from his uncle and started a cartoon series called Alice in Wonderland. It did not succeeded. Then he made a better one - Oswald the Rabbit. The distributor copy-righted Oswald and took over the series himself. Walt ignored all the problems and continued his work. Walt made a cartoon film Mickey Mouse in 1928. In 1955 Disneyland opened. On reaching its 40th year, the cartoon made a history. 100 million watched a Disney TV show, nearly a billion read a Disney book or magazine and almost ten million visited Disneyland. Mickey was the first successful product of Walt's matchless imagination.

56. A Visit to a Bird Sanctuary
🦃🦢🦩🦃🦢🦩🦃🦢🦩
People often go to visit places of their interest like zoo , hill-stations, sea-shores etc. but our teacher one day made a plan to visit a Bird Sanctuary . It sounded quite thrilling to us because it was a very unusual type of visit . I was overjoyed and felt on top of the world as it was going to be a completely different experience for us . On 5th November, 2019 at 7 am we were to meet at the school premises from where it was over to our teacher. About after forty minutes drive we were at the CHINTAMANI KAR BIRD SANCTUARY in Narendrapur , Kolkata. It Is one of the most oldest Bird sanctuaries in Kolkata and situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city. As we entered the sanctuary, the pristine greenery of the place made us speechless because in cities only we can see the high-rises,malls,multiplexes and lots of vehicles running everywhere .
The huge trees , the dense foliage and the silence thrilled us all. We were filled with inquisitiveness and the strong desire to explore . Slowly we were escorted into the sanctuary and then it was never before. Beautiful trees , creepers , canopies, different variety of Butterflies , Moths, Birds ,Squirrels and other beauties of nature greeted us . As we headed inside , we got the glimpses of a Black Drongo , some Red Vented Bulbuls , a Black Headed Oreol ,Purple Heron , Common Sparrows , Cormorants etc. The interior of the sanctuary resembled dense forest. After exploring the sanctuary we realised how beautiful nature is and what I had been missing .There was also a small lake which was centrally located .
There in the lake were Lesser Whistling Ducks , Pochards and other aquatic birds. Soon it was time to return. I have clicked many photographs in the sanctuary. We came back to school with the fond memories of the visit . The visit to the sanctuary was not only a new experience for us but also very enriching. I would like to thank our school for providing us such good opportunities and hope to have some more like this in near future.

🟢Walt was a complex man. To the writers, producers and animators who worked with him, he was a genius who had an uncanny ability to add an extra stroke of imagination to any story or idea. To the millions of people who watched his TV show, he was a warm, kindly personality, bringing fun and pleasure into their homes. To the bankers who financed us, I'm sure he seemed like a wild man, hellbent for bankruptcy. To me, he was my amazing kid brother, full of impractical dreams that he made come true.

🔵My brother and I were at a very young, impressionable age when our father married a second time. He would often arrogantly parade into the house with his new wife. Mother was helpless. There was nothing she could do about it, but Nani fought with her, and scooped the two of us into her arms and brought us into her house, saying,'You want to rot here, do so ... But I am not letting my grandchildren stay here to get thrashed by their stepmother.

🟣When tasks and pressures start building up, the mind can sometimes go into over thinking and you come to the thought, "I wish there was a switch in my head that I could flick and turn off all the thoughts going around in my mind!" It is not that easy. There is a technique to help yourself during the problem of over thinking. Say to yourself repeatedly during the day:'I have no expectations and I will deal with whatever happens when it happens'.

🔹23. What should be there in our head to overcome stress?
🔸Ans. There should be a switch in our head to turn off all the thoughts going around in our head to overcome stress.
🔹24. Which thing you will say to yourself to reduce pressure?

🟠Will the workers walk into this trap? Will they be fooled again? I am afraid so. The people have always been susceptible to oratory of this sort. The workers know they have no enemies except their
masters. They know that their citizenship papers are no warrant for the safety of their wives and children. They know that honest sweat, persistent toil and years of struggle bring them nothing on to, worth fighting for. Yet deep down in their foolish hearts they believe them a country. Oh blind vanity of slaves!

🔸25. Who are the great enemies of workers?
🔹Ans. Their masters are the great enemies of workers.
🔸26. What did they get in return to believe themselves a country?
🔹Ans. They did not get anything in return to believe themselves a country.

👴🏻 30. The title 'The Adjustment' :
Ans. In this story by Gulzar, an adjustment is shown between a typical old couple. Apparently the eight-Nani on any point, and the same is the case with Nani, still there is a hidden emotional bond between them. Many a time they quarrel and stop talking with each other for days together. Yet, Nana takes it as 'it happens'. This is adjustment. Nani dies earlier than Nana and Nana asks to take her away. He does not join in cremation. Yet, at home he keeps confined to Nani's room. He does not let Nani's bed carted away. When Nani's ashes were taken to him before going for the immersion, Nana just touched the urn and asked to take them away with apparent indifference. But by and by, he starts doing everything that Nani used to do-slept in her bed, spoke in her voice and so on. Continuing adjusting himself to Nani, Nana becomes victim of a sort of dissociative personality disorder. At the end of the story, Nana is found sleeping dead on Nani's bed in Nani's dhoti and blouse. Thus, the title 'The Adjustment' seems to be the most appropriate.

💗 29. LOVE - A DRIVING FORCE :
Ans. Love is freeware yet there are hidden conditions for love, If someone's feelings were hurt by the person whom he/she loved too much in the past, then it will be the most incurable and unseen wound / damage to mind. It cannot either be forgotten or completely be healed; even after starting new relations. The emotions like bad experiences from past, the sense of grudge and anger, the evil thoughts of taking revenge, prejudice for everybody; are the barriers which are responsible for stopping one to fall in love. A person, who wants to make love, must forget the bad experiences which he/she had in the past. He/ She must be free from the spirit of resentment and revenge. Only when you judge and interact with people without any prejudices, you can make feelings' transfer. To have loving emotions or to love others; first of all, you should understand and start loving yourself. Because if you can't love yourself, your own heart will be very small and will not be able to create space for someone. First of all, the heart will feel like you are in heaven. There will be positive thoughts throughout the mind; and there will not be any negative thoughts in any corner of the heart. Whole the life and emotions will be reconstructed having the reinforcement of love in structure. You must accept yourself, your good sides, your weak sides, faults of yours and mistakes to be a generous and loving person. You must accept others as they are, and should not try to change them according to your own mindset; only then you will be able to make love with others.
