Me: she didn’t take the old passport. And asked the next question

VO: Ok so what universities have you applied for ?
Me: I have applied for two universities. New York institute of technology (NYIT) and university of New Haven. And I’ve been accepted in both of these universities.

VO: what have you done after your education?
Me: Mam, I’ve been through a lot of turbulence and upheavals in my life. After my education I’ve been through the process of marriage and divorce. My life was turned upside down by anxiety, trauma and sadness. But the best part is I buckled up myself and had experienced the journey of being totally independent person to a dependent one. And started working as business associate at xxx company and currently working as an operations manager.

VO: You have applied for visa in 2014, and 2016 and why was it rejected ?
Me: Mam, I applied back then in 2015 and 2017 for B1/b2 tourist visa.
When I appeared for the interview, I received 214(b) slip. I believe there was some miscommunication from my end. I was unable to convey my thoughts and I believe I was not able to satisfy visa officer with my answers.

VO: But you said you were going to meet a friend. You were traveling from germany to chicago.
Me: Officer, My friend had an heartattack. So the plan was to stop by see her and return to Germany to my husband. But now things has changed.

VO: So why did you choose this university? And why masters?
Me: Mam, honestly speaking I’ve been facing loads of hurdles at work place and I feel the urgh to up-skill my knowledge and pursuing mba will help me gain advanced knowledge in management field as I aspire to achieve top level position and to achieve future success in my career.

She interrupted and asked next question

VO: But the university you applied is very very expensive how are you managing your funds?
Me: Yes absolutely it is expensive but my father is my prime sponsor. He is going to fund for my education with his saving of xxxxxxxx apart from that I have my own saving.

VO: What does your father do ?
Me: He is into xyz business …

She started typing something on computer for 2-3 sec.
I tried engaging her by asking mam do you want me to provide any supporting documents?

VO: Nah, that’s alright.
Me: She started typing again.

Me: Good Afternoon officer. How are you doing?

VO: Great thanks for asking. Please pass me your I-20, Passport and Sevis Fee payment.
Me: Sure officer. Here are the documents.

VO: Can you show me your college transcripts?
Me: Sure officer. Passed the transcripts.

VO: What were your most and least favorite subjects in college?
Me: My most favorite subject was Theory and Automata Computation and least favorite subjects was Mathematics but now I have a good command.

VO: Why did you choose Yeshiva?
Me: Well Yeshiva University has an amazing AI program which has a unique blend of subjects such as NLP, DEEP LEARNING and Neural Networks with perfectly aligns with my current work as a Data Engineer. Mainly i have been following the works of Prof X who expertise lies in X. And I am deeply interested in learning and working with him, which is also one of the main reasons I chose Yeshiva.

VO: What will be your subjects ?
Me: Deep learning , Neural Networks and NLP.

VO: In what semester will you be studying neural networks?
Me: I will be studying this subject in semester 3.

VO was White American Lady, she typed on the screen for 4-5 mins and kept on smiling by looking at me. Then she said place your right hand four fingers on the scanner.
Congratulations I am approving your Visa.
