Bayern Munich pounded Sand in the second round of the DFB-Pokal Frauen on Sunday to continue a bright start to the 2024/25 season. Last season the Bavarians ended runners-up after a 0-2 defeat to VfL Wolfsburg on May 9th. This year, the defending Bundesliga champions will be hoping for a shot at cup redemption.Jovana Damnjanović, starting in place of Lea Schüller at striker, got the scoring going early in just the 7th minute, and Georgia Stanway added a second midway through the first half (26’). It was not until the second half that the floodgates opened, however, with successive goals by Linda Dallmann (58’), Giulia Gwinn (69’), Julia Zigiotti Olme (72’), before Schüller capped off the rout in the 89th minute.Highlights for the match and all its goals are available via FC Bayern TV.The match marked debuts for forward Weronika Zawistowska (24) and defender Luzie Zähringer (16).The draw for the next round of the DFB-Pokal will occur on September 16th. Bayern play next in a season home debut in Frauen-Bundesliga action against RB Leipzig on Friday, September 13th.

He is consistently praised for his talents as a center back, and is now on the radar of top clubs across Europe. One of the clubs aiming to get Saliba’s signature is Bayern Munich. The German Rekordmeister recently lost some incredible players in Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, and could be looking to replace the talent at the back line. However, Bayern will reportedly face some competition from other top clubs, namely Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Reported by CaughtOffside, the Spanish and French giants are also looking to sign William Saliba for a hefty price tag of €120 million at least. This means that Arsenal is really not looking forward to letting go of the French international. Considering that Saliba’s contract at Arsenal ends only in 2027, the London club is in no rush to sell their star player, however, clubs like Bayern, Madrid, and PSG have a certain lure about them. Bayern immediately scored a game tying goal and that should’ve been the headline.However, Müller went deep into his trousers to expose a handwritten instruction from Kompany. Former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann is riding high after his German national team dismantled Hungary 5-0 on Saturday. However, the coach knows that the Netherlands will be a major test on Tuesday. “The Dutch team is better equipped individually than Hungary. They have a lot of talent, including the substitute players. I expect the stadium to be sold out tomorrow. The atmosphere will be great, everything in orange. It’s a nice colour to look at. We’re looking forward to it,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Our idea is not to change everything. There are certainly things we can do similarly [as against Hungary]. But it’s a different opponent with a different playing style.”When asked if Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović could be one of the few changes that could be made to the lineup, Nagelsmann did not discount the notion. “Pavlo could start. In short, this game is a litmus test. If the performance is up to snuff, the new era of German football has well and truly arrived. If not, then it’s back to the drawing board — perhaps players like Aleksandar Pavlović, Angelo Stiller, and potentially even exiles like Serge Gnabry could find their way back into the XI. The 28-year-old, who starred at EURO 2024 for Germany, is now firm that this will be his final season playing for Die Werkself.“I’ve been in Leverkusen for nine years,” Tah explained in an interview for SZ (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “I experienced all the ups and downs here and the highlight was the fantastic last season in which we won almost everything. It couldn’t have been better. And that’s why I thought: If I extend my contract in Leverkusen now, at 28, that means that I will play here until my early to mid-thirties...“A football career is short, and that’s why it has always been my idea to get everything possible out of it. I simply want to exploit the potential that lies in my career. And in the summer I had the feeling that now is the moment to look at something new — right now, after this extremely successful season.“I did what a player can do: communicate my wishes clearly and openly. He was inconspicuous at the beginning, his style of play wasn’t as multifaceted as it is today. But we quickly got along very well because our perspective on football is similar. Over all the years, one look was often enough because we both saw something with the defender.”What does Thomas Müller have that others don’t have?“Thomas has the full package. A superb nose, he can set up goals or score himself. He knows how to exploit space. He has a knack for timing to attack space, and he puts in legwork for his teammates. But the biggest compliment I can make him: Thomas just understands football.”He set up your milestone goal in the World Cup semi-final against Brazil in 2014.“His assist wasn’t that good, I needed two attempts to score (laughing). Seriously, I really liked playing with Thomas.”Do you have a special “Thomas Müller moment”?“Ahead of the quarter-final in the 2010 World Cup, the Argentinians got off the bus dancing to music. They were noisy in the tunnel too, so Thomas turned around and said, I think I know we’re in for something today. We all burst out laughing. He eased everything up with it, and the result is known [Germany won 4-0]. That’s just how Thomas is. He always seems completely relaxed ahead of matches, he calls his wife in the dressing room. But he’s fully focused from kick-off.”That moment from the last answer happened in 2010, but anyone who knows Müller even the tiniest bit knows it would be typical for him to do so now, 14 years later. As much as he has grown and improved and overcome the challenges that life presented him, he seems to have remained the same person at heart.
