Aston Villa FC v FC Bayern Munchen - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD2 Photo by Joe Prior/Visionhaus via Getty Images A familiar Premier League team may be moving into the mix as well... Bayern Munich’s contract progress with star left-back Alphonso Davies has apparently hit a snag. The Canadian sensation is one of a number of key Bayern players with contracts expiring at the end of 2024/25. While the club continues to work on Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané, and Manuel Neuer, Davies talks are reportedly on hold — and it is down to a question of what the market will pay. From Sport Bild chief reporter Christian Falk, as captured via @iMiaSanMia:Alphonso Davies is still dreaming of Real Madrid. Bayern have taken a break on contract talks. They don’t want to engage in discussions with his agent, Nick Huoseh, any more, as they think the salary demands are too high. They don’t want to pay him over €20m a year. If Manchester United are willing to pay that, they would be a big competitor for Real Madrid - and Davies and his camp would sit at the table [@cfbayern via @caughtoffside]Now, €20m is no chump change, especially for a defender — but it is not too hard to imagine the likes of Madrid splashing around that cash. Will Davies end up leaving Bavaria on a free? Is Manchester United a real possibility???Looking for more thought on a potential move to FC Barcelona for Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies? FC Bayern München Press Conference For Public Charging Park For Commercial Vehicles At Allianz Arena Photo by S. Mellar/FC Bayern via Getty Images Would the Bavarians move to change their executive structure again? Bayern Munich is no stranger to coaching or executive turnover. The unceremonious axing of former CEO Oliver Kahn was only a year and change ago — and Bayern is already on its second head coach since then.Could another change in chief executive be upcoming? It sounds like a topic that will be resolved for Bayern — and current CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen — in the coming months, if not sooner. Dreesen — not unlike a few Bayern stars — has a contract expiring in 2025. The CEO acknowledged (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) that it had already been determined to be up for discussion “during the second half of the year.” But the trend, towards extension or not, may become clearer sooner than that. From Sky Sport DE: The next supervisory board meeting of FC Bayern will take place on November 11th ✔️▫️One of the most important items on the agenda: the future of current CEO Jan-Christian #Dreesen. The contract of the 57y/o Bayern boss expires on June 30th, 2025. A clear tendency, if not a final decision, could already emerge during the upcoming meeting.▫️Supervisory board chairman Herbert Hainer plays a key role. Internally, Dreesen has both supporters and opponents. Hainer is reportedly gathering opinions on the matter, a meeting with representatives from the “Südkurve” is also planned.@SkySportDE Intriguing, huh? Dreesen’s tenure at Bayern has not been without tumult — but it’s not as if Thomas Tuchel’s hire was his doing; Dreesen was CFO at the time. As CEO he will likely be evaluated outside and above the club’s sporting context. So how well has he navigated the club through these choppy waters?Earlier today, though, more news broke, which seems to throw cold water on the assertion that Dreesen is in jeopardy. From Bild (via @iMiaSanMia): Jan-Christian Dreesen still has chances of continuing as Bayern CEO beyond 2025. A decision is expected at the upcoming supervisory board meeting on November 11. German outlet kicker also chimed in via @iMiaSanMia: Contrary to yesterday’s report, the clear tendency at the moment is that Jan-Christian Dreesen will extend his contract as Bayern CEO beyond 2025.Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer took some time to air his feelings on the matter to Bild (via @iMiaSanMia).“Generally speaking, we’re absolutely satisfied with our board of directors, led by chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen. We are successful in sporting terms and will once again present excellent economic figures at the upcoming annual general meeting. FC Bayern generally does not comment on internal matters – nor on speculation in public,” Hainer told Bild. Stay tuned, because it sounds like it could have been not so well.

Bayern Munich - VfB Stuttgart Photo by Tom Weller/picture alliance via Getty Images Kane could hardly have done more to justify and vindicate this faith today... Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane went into the Bundesliga clash against VFB Stuttgart with doubts over his form hanging over his head. Because he had not scored in 350 minutes. Truly, what a crime. But none of those doubts came from his head coach Vincent Kompany, as the Belgian later confided when asked about Kane’s recent lack of goals.“To be honest, I didn’t waste any second thinking about whether he scored or not [in the past games],” Kompany explained, as captured by via @iMiaSanMia. “I know what qualities he has. He’s always hungry, even in training. Sometimes we forget how hard Harry works for the team. He’s always scored goals, and will always score goals. That won’t change.”The former Tottenham Hotspur striker, of course, rewarded his coach’s faith his third hat-trick of the season to lift the Bavarians to a comfortable 4-0 victory. Perhaps a bit of faith truly can go a long way.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s big 4-0 win over VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga? Eintracht Frankfurt v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images The Frenchman managed to soldier on and excel today despite questionable match fitness Dayot Upamecano was struggling with an injury and needed to be replaced by Eric Dier in the closing stages of Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. This injury forced him to sit out international duty with France and build his fitness on the training ground leading up to Saturday’s clash with VfB Stuttgart. But despite his status for the match being touch and go, he pulled himself together and delivered an exceptional performance to ensure a clean sheet, hinting after the match that perhaps head coach Vincent Kompany has something to do with this uptick in performance:“I’m very happy with him. He played in my position, he does a lot of video analysis with us defenders, he helps us a lot,” Upamecano explained, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “I have confidence this season and will give it my all for him.” Bayern and Kompany will surely need his all in the upcoming week, let alone the whole season. The Frenchman will get a short rest before needing to prepare for a big clash against FC Barcelona. If he can pull out the same phenomenal performance he did today, Bayern should be absolutely fine.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s big 4-0 win over VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga? FC Bayern München v VfB Stuttgart - Bundesliga Photo by Adam Pretty/Getty Images What a romp. It was a day for individual brilliance as Bayern Munich waltzed away to victory over VfB Stuttgart, courtesy of a Harry Kane hurricane and four second half goals.Scoreless and frustrated as the half-time whistle blew, Bayern Munich retreated to the locker rooms and head coach Vincent Kompany must have whipped up some fierce determination. Striker Harry Kane grabbed the game by the scruff of its neck with his first two super goals of the second half, then pounced on a rebound for his third before Kingsley Coman scrambled home a fourth.A miserable start to the season now continues for the visitors, while Bayern snaps out of a three-game winless streak in style. FC Bayern München v VfB Stuttgart - Bundesliga Photo by Christina Pahnke - sampics/Getty Images This is not good... As was feared, Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović will sit out the rest of 2024 according to a report from Sky Sport (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). While FCBayern.com referenced that Pavlović would have to miss “the coming weeks” on Saturday after the injury, speculation quickly mounted that the broken collarbone would take a lot longer to heal. Bild issued a report stating that Pavlović will miss three months and Sky Sport’s latest information seems to align with Bild: Aleksandar Pavlović will not play again for Bayern in 2024 [@SkySportDE] pic.twitter.com/XMCQgwXxQX— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) October 20, 2024The loss of Pavlović could offer an opportunity for João Palhinha, Leon Goretzka, and Konrad Laimer (mostly Palhinha), but the loss of development for the youngster is a tough hit to take for the Bavarians. Pavlović left a note for fans on his Instagram account: Aleks Pavlović on IG after his surgery: 'Thank you for your kind messages. Surgery went well. Now I'll give everything to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
