FC Bayern München v SL Benfica - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD4 Photo by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images via Getty Images Gnabry has some words of wisdom to pass on to younger players. It is difficult to imagine that Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry is not far from 30. However, he has already won plenty of titles in his time at Bayern and been part of a legendary side under his former coach, FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick. Per @iMiaSanMia, when Gnabry was asked whether he has the role of passing the [Bayern Munich] gene to younger players, he had the following to say: “Of course you develop a certain maturity, you move forward and take on responsibility, that’s a natural process. I used to be one of the younger ones and was grateful for tips from the older players. Now it’s quite normal for me to pass something on myself, to motivate, to say ‘Don’t do this - do this and this instead’.”• Do you now feel you have the role of passing this gene on to a younger generation?

He overcame adversity and became an important player for Bayern Munich.Looking for some talk on the prospect of Bayern Munich teaming up Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala? Germany v Bosnia and Herzegovina - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Sebastian Widmann - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images Well, the boss can afford to take some chances at this point. Even with his team looking like a juggernaut, former Bayern Munich boss and current German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann has a lot of respect for Hungary. ”They change their formation a lot in-game. In Düsseldorf [first leg], Hungary applied more pressure, were not as disciplined at the back and played with more risk. It was different at the Euros. You can’t predict 100% what to expect. I’m more likely to assume that they will be more compact tomorrow,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Things won’t fall apart if we don’t win. I think every player has understood that we won’t see each other countless times and that we won’t have many games. We don’t have that time, we have to use it here. We would like to put on a good performance for the 1,000 fans who have travelled with us from Germany. It’s about continuing on the path we have chosen. We’re drawing motivation from the fact that we want to develop. There are not many games left until the World Cup. We don’t have a lot of time to leave anything behind.”Nagelsmann also indicated that he is likely to make a lot of changes to his starting XI. “As of today, there will be a lot of changes tomorrow. We’re also taking the clubs into consideration. It’s possible that we’ll make nine, 10, or maybe just four changes. We will decide after the final training session depending on how everyone is feeling,” said Nagelsmann. Finally, the coach provided some insight into the squad’s goalkeeper situation. “The performances at the clubs are more important. I have a limited number of training sessions here that we can evaluate within the coaching staff. Olli (Baumann) did very well. He was good with his feet too. I hope for both of them [Baumann and Alexander Nübel] that the consistency in the league remains. In any case, I’m not worried. We’ll have a good #1 and #2 by the time Marc (Marc-André ter Stegen) comes back” Nagelsmann stated. Looking for some talk on the prospect of Bayern Munich teaming up Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala? Juventus FC v Arsenal FC - UEFA Women’s Champions League 2024/25 Group Stage MD3 Photo by Alex Burstow/Arsenal FC via Getty Images Disappointment for both Arsenal WFC and the FC Bayern Frauen — and all their fans. Arsenal’s pivotal December 18th tilt versus Bayern Munich in the Women’s Champions League has been relocated from the Emirates Stadium, a 60,000-capacity stadium where the men’s team features, to tiny Meadow Park — a tiny 4,500-capacity ground in Borehamwood and former home of Arsenal WFC.In a statement released on the Arsenal FC website, the English club cited the men’s team’s draw in the Carabao Cup — the less prestigious these days of England’s two domestic cup competitions, which also includes the FA Cup — as the reason why. Arsenal men are set to play Crystal Palace in the quarter-final now on the same date.Meadow Park is home to Boreham Wood, a club competing in the National League South, the sixth tier of English professional football.Arsenal stated in its release that it is also offering arrangements to fans who have purchased tickets already as well as a “gesture of goodwill” which includes the option for a 20 voucher for retail merchandise. The announcement was met with dismay by fans and news outlets alike, with German outlet DW Sports decorating the news with some choice emojis:Bayern Munich's #UWCL match against Arsenal has been moved from Emirates to Meadow Park due to a scheduling conflict with Arsenal's men's team.

Tickets for the 60,000-seat stadium were on sale since September. Ticket holders can now opt for a full refund. ‍♀️#ARSFCB #UEFA pic.twitter.com/JGHNA6OgqX— DW Sports (@dw_sports) November 18, 2024Bayern Munich’s #UWCL match against Arsenal has been moved from Emirates to Meadow Park due to a scheduling conflict with Arsenal’s men’s team. Tickets for the 60,000-seat stadium were on sale since September. Ticket holders can now opt for a full refund. ‍♀️#ARSFCB #UEFAAccording to reporting in ESPN, the number of tickets sold for the UWCL match between the Gunners and the FC Bayern Frauen had already exceeded (7,500) the capacity at Meadow Park (4,500) — and so full restitution will not be possible for all fans hoping to see the match in person. The Bavarians currently sit top of UWCL Group C with a perfect three wins from three games. But Arsenal is only three points behind, having lost already to Bayern. Current interim coach Renée Slegers took charge in the week after that defeat — a 5-2 result at the FC Bayern Campus — and has the Gunners flying high. The last three results have been impressive: 5-0 over Brighton, 4-0 over Juventus, and 3-0 over Tottenham Hotspur. The stage had been set for a big clash under the lights. The stakes are no less large — but now the venue is much, much smaller.

FC St. Pauli 1910 v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Stuart Franklin/Getty Images It was probably best hidden away and just get a redo... If you remember from a few years ago, then-Tottenham Hotspur player Harry Kane got a statue of himself made around five years ago that “was initially set to be placed on a platform at Chingford station, but those plans were shelved following a risk assessment carried out by TFL” (via Express UK). It was then tucked away to be revealed at a later date, but the leaked photos of his “likeness” immediately drew criticism and mockery for its dissimilarity to the the now-Bayern Munich man. Finally, it was unveiled today and it was exactly how people saw it before it was made official. A life-sized statue of Harry Kane has been unveiled at The Peter May Centre in London pic.twitter.com/v90epSw1QU— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) November 18, 2024This is not to knock the sculptors who spent time crafting this statue (and the message behind it), but it just doesn’t do Kane justice. The original statue of Cristiano Ronaldo’s head that was displayed at Madeira Airport back in 2017 was also made a laughingstock; the sculptor would later make a better version.Other comparable likenesses include Sergio Agüero’s statue outside Manchester City’s ground (which wasn’t that bad apart from the fact that it looked more like former Bayern and Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos) and Liverpool player Mo Salah’s disproportionate bobble-head like figure. These statues may have people cracking up at the present, but the future will surely be more kind to the imageries of and these legends of the game.Looking for some talk on the prospect of Bayern Munich teaming up Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala? FC Bayern Muenchen - Training Session Photo by A. Hassenstein/FC Bayern via Getty Images Sometimes, it feels like a miracle that Müller even had a career at Bayern Munich. Speaking to German outlet Sport1, former Bayern Munich assistant coach Hermann Gerland (though calling him a mere “assistant” is downplaying his role considerably) explained what makes Thomas Müller so incredibly special in the dressing room. While doing so, he shared a short tidbit — Jupp Heynckes even tried to take the Raumdeuter with him to Bayer Leverkusen back in the day. His quotes were captured by DW Sports in the following tweet, which is reproduced below if you (understandably) cannot stand X/Twitter:Hermann Gerland Thomas Müller

“If someone had told me back then that Thomas would become Bayern's most successful player of all time 15 years later, I would’ve checked myself into a clinic," said Hermann Gerland in an interview with @SPORT1.

That’s when I put my foot down.”“Thomas stays!”In 25 years altogether at Bayern, Gerland went on to assist several coaches, including Louis van Gaal, Jupp Heynckes, Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti, Niko Kovac and Hansi Flick. And Müller always stayed.“He always played the way the next coach wanted him to. Thomas is simply unbelievable. He’s great on the bus, great in the locker room, great on the training pitch, and great in games. So, four times great!”These days, he’s probably only three times great, unless you substitute his role in games for his role in the club’s social media marketing. It is interesting to learn that Müller almost went to Leverkusen — maybe his career would have taken the same direction as Toni Kroos, who spent a year on loan there (under Jupp Heynckes!) before returning to Bayern Munich to make a name for himself. It would make for a fine what-if scenario, if you’re interested in that sort of thing.

Germany v Bosnia and Herzegovina - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Marvin Ibo Guengoer - GES Sportfoto/Getty Images Keep it rolling, boys! Since winning the World Cup in Brazil back in 2014, the German national team has struggled mightily in competitions. Germany has not reached the knockout rounds in the last two World Cup and has only reached the semifinals of the EUROs once (2016).After Joachim Löw’s 15-year successful reign ended in 2021, Hansi Flick’s short stint with Die Mannschaft failed to return Germany to the glory days. Julian Nagelsmann has reinvigorated the fanbase with his iteration of attacking football but will still need to produce some hardware to label his tenure a success. How do the players feel about the fans’ renewed faith in the squad?“Yes, the hope is absolutely justified,” Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich told Bild (via @iMiaSanMia). “Nevertheless, there’s still a long way to go. I think we are on the right track. I have said it a few times in the past, the World Cup does not start when the tournament begins, but already in the preparations. Until then, every win is good for us. Even against Hungary on Tuesday, where there’s nothing at stake anymore, we still want to keep going.” While Germany has only played five matches under the captaincy of Kimmich, the results are very encouraging. The team will have to endure the struggles of UEFA qualifying in 2025, but thanks to the young talent and veteran depth, expectations continue to rise.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Germany’s big win over Bosnia and Herzegovina? Germany v Bosnia and Herzegovina - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images Finally, rest for the weary? Take it easy, Josh!Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich is known for his near-maniacal devotion to his craft. When it comes to football, Kimmich always wants to be in the thick of it — no matter what.So Germany and Bayern fans must have winced when, after a scary-looking injury situation forced Kimmich off the field Saturday in Germany’s 7-0 Nations League win over Bosnia and Herzegovina, the midfielder (playing as right-back for the national team) immediately said that he wanted to go again in the next match.Fortunately, the injury has turned out to be nothing serious and perhaps even more fortunately, Kimmich may actually be getting some prescribed rest. From a report in kicker, as captured via @iMiaSanMia:Although he’s not injured, Joshua Kimmich is likely to be given a rest against Hungary on Tuesday with a view to the upcoming crowded schedule until Christmas and also to give Benjamin Henrichs a chance [@kicker]Germany has top spot in its Nations League group all wrapped up, so this is a good time for Julian Nagelsmann to rotate. And a great time for Kimmich to rest and recuperate.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Germany’s big win over Bosnia and Herzegovina? Sweden v Slovakia - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League C Group C1 Photo by Michael Campanella/Getty Images Will Bayern Munich be looking for a striker in 2025? Bayern to battle United for Gyökeres (Sport Bild)Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres might be the hottest player in the world with the kind of production that he has had this season. In 18 games for Sporting CP, Gyökeres has 18 goals and four assists across all competitions. In addition, the Swede has five goals and four assists in five games In the UEFA Nations League this season. Needless to say, he is one of the most sought-after players on the transfer market for the summer of 2025 — and Bayern Munich could be in the mix to land the 26-year-old: Manchester United and other top clubs are chasing Viktor Gyökeres (26) – the Swede is also at least on the radar at FC Bayern (SPORT BILD reported). However, the attacker from Sporting Lisbon is going to be really expensive. But not as expensive as expected!A report in the English newspaper “ The Times “ revealed that Gyökeres could move next summer for “only” 75 million euros. The reason: a secret agreement with Sporting. The club is reportedly willing to let the striker go for a much lower sum than the 100 million euro release clause in his contract. The Portuguese champions have also already reduced the resale share for the top striker (market value 70 million euros). Gyökeres moved from Coventry City (England) to Lisbon in 2023. Shortly before the end of the last summer transfer window, it was announced that the club had paid a sum of 2 million euros to reduce Coventry’s 15 percent resale share to 10 percent. The fact that Sporting is trying to secure a larger share of a potential transfer fee for Gyökeres is likely a sign that a departure is imminent next summer. With Harry Kane still in tow, it would appear unlikely that Bayern Munich would spend that much on another striker. However, Kane could end up being a wild card for the Bavarians. Should he win his first trophy this season (it seems like the Bundesliga is completely achievable), he could have the desire to return to England and chase Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal scoring record. If that happens, Bayern Munich could act very quickly to try and bring in another top-tier center-forward. No one — and we mean no one — wants to go through another striker-less experiment. Madrid considers Wirtz to be “dream signing” (Fichajes via 90Min.com)Real Madrid considers Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz to be a prime transfer target, but is worried about the transfer fee he could command: Real Madrid consider Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz to be a dream signing but would want to negotiate his €130m to €150m asking price down to a figure similar to the one they paid for Jude Bellingham. (Fichajes - Spain)Bavarian Podcast Works — Flagship Show: Season 7, Episode 17 (Bavarian Football Works)Bayern Munich is still out of action, but Germany has supplied enough quality to keep our eyes and minds busy, but it is not as if there is not a lot to talk about with the Bavarians. Let’s take a look at some of the big topics for this week on the Bavarian Podcast Works Show: We’ve fought it the best we could, but it is time to admit that if Bayern Munich has the chance to team up Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz they should get it done as soon as possible. Germany is legit now. Julian Nagelsmann is working magic like we have not seen in a long time. Can he keep it going or is Germany peaking too early?Could Hansi Flick lure away Bayern Munich’s talent? At least one report indicates that the Bavarians are at least a little worried that Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, and....Musiala (!?) could all be drawn to Flick. United making attempt for Nkunku? (ESPN)Manchester United is reportedly chatting with Chelsea FC about the possibility of getting former RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku: Manchester United have opened talks with Chelsea over the availability of Christopher Nkunku, who is reportedly unhappy about his playing time under…

Before the match Hungary - Germany Photo by Christian Charisius/picture alliance via Getty Images It is a dead rubber match. Can the Germans stay perfect, having already topped their Nations League group? Germany has now cemented its place atop its Nations League group after a 7-0 shellacking of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday. But there is one more game to go in this November international period, and it involves a road trip to Hungary. The Hungarians have challenged Germany bravely and often in recent years, but their latest encounters have been one-sided, including a 5-0 romp by the Germans in Düsseldorf in September.Julian Nagelsmann’s decision to take the helm of Die Mannschaft after his Bayern Munich dismissal continues to look inspired. How long can he keep this positive run going? What can the team show in a game with no stakes?Team newsGerman outlet kicker published lineup predictions this week and here’s what they had:Hungary vs Germany | Predicted lineups [@kicker] pic.twitter.com/uIhLx3F7YA— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) November 17, 2024Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah picked up his second yellow card in the last match, which should be the opening for Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck to slot in at center-back. It is an opportunity also for rotation and for the three outfield players who did not get in the game on Saturday — Chris Führich (VfB Stuttgart), Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund), and Robin Gosens (Fiorentina) — to make an appearance.Of those, however, only Gosens makes the kicker XI. Meanwhile Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich looks set for a rest (sighs of relief heard all over Bavaria) and club teammates Leroy Sané and Serge Gnabry, who both came on as subs vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina, have a good chance now to start from the off.The midfield is still missing Aleksandar Pavlović and Angelo Stiller, the Bayern and former-Bayern (now VfB Stuttgart) duo that has emerged this season as the possible future pivot for the men’s national team. In turn it looks like no rest for Robert Andrich (Leverkusen) and Pascal Groß (BVB), who will have another chance to show why they should keep their places in the squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Germany’s big win over Bosnia and Herzegovina? FC Bayern München v SL Benfica - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD4 Photo by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images via Getty Images The young German sensation is not easy to stop fairly — and hardly deserves the abuse he is getting as a result. Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is a magician. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is dazzling this season with goals and dribbles galore. And it is apparent that to stop him from gallivanting through opposing defenses, a certain amount of dark arts is needed. The worst part? He can hardly complain about it too much. Musiala and head coach Vincent Kompany have touched on the importance of referees — who are in a position to stop this behavior before it gets out of hand — but in measured tones. It is, after all, part of the deal.“I try to speak to the referees. They’re doing what they think is right and trying to give their best,” Musiala said this week in comments captured via @iMiaSanMia. “I don’t want to complain a lot and want to have fun on the pitch. I’ll always speak to the referee if I feel that I’m being fouled a lot — but I know that’s part of the game.”How far is too far? The youngster has been clobbered, swatted at, manhandled, and rugby tackled too many times to count. It seems to be the only way to slow him down. And opponents will likely keep doing that — if they aren’t made to pay a price.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim v FC Bayern Muenchen - Bundesliga Bayern Munich’s last Brazilian acquisition was a treble winner. It’s perhaps time to try the same formula. | Photo by Matthias Hangst/Bongarts/Getty Images The São Paulo starlet is on Bayern’s radar. Could the club swoop in and add him to the campus ranks? Bayern Munich is always scouring the market for exciting young talents. As it should. With so many young teenagers currently dominating world football, it is integral to be on the lookout for raw talent around the globe and swiftly secure their services, provided they are the right fit. Brazil has produced some of the best talents of all time, including current big names Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Raphinha, to name a few. As far as Bayern’s luck with Brazilian talent goes, the most recent transfer happens to be a certain Philippe Coutinho (on a season-long loan) who famously won a treble with the club in the 2019/20 season (yes, we are going to pretend that the Douglas Costa loan never happened). The 2013 treble-winning squad had both Dante and Rafinha. You get the idea.According to a recent report from @UOLEsporte (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich has its sights set on a young Brazilian winger from São Paulo:São Paulo winger Henrique Carmo (18), one of the most promising prospects at the club, is being monitored by FC Bayern. Henrique's current contract expires in 2025, but the Brazilian club is close to reaching a renewal agreement with the player to fend off interest from Europe… pic.twitter.com/XqByoxsHuD— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) November 16, 2024While not much seems to be on the internet about the player, there are some nice YouTube compilations of his skills (I will try to upload a video in the comments; feel free to share ones you like too!). The winger is young and seems to possess a lot of talent. His profile seems to be that of an out-and-out winger, which is good, since it means more variety in the Bayern front-line. It is likely that at least one of Coman, Sané, and Gnabry leaves the club in the near future, and it is always a good idea to bring in talents that can be refined and prepared to take over the position. Carmo seems to be great at stretching play, dribbling in tight spaces, and seems to have pace to burn. All these attributes make him perfect for the profile the club is looking for. However, the player is still quite unproven, which should likely change with regular minutes with Bayern II and hopefully, a transition to the first team. But all this could still be wishful thinking, since Bayern probably has its hands full with the renewal situation. There might be a battle potentially brewing.Again, where is Brazzo and his PowerPoint presentation when you need him?

France v Israel - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A2 Photo by Jean Catuffe/Getty Images The Israeli keeper had plenty on his hands Bayern Munich’s Daniel Peretz put on a show for Israel in their match against France, earning the Man of the Match title with his stellar performance. The 23-year-old goalkeeper played all 90 minutes, making 8 crucial saves (6 inside the box) to keep the French attack at bay. His stats were impressive: 2 high claims, a vital clearance, and 54 touches, showcasing his composure under pressure. He also managed 6 successful long balls out of 19 attempts, earning him a remarkable 9.3/10 rating on SofaScore. Despite his standout display on the international stage, Peretz has struggled to find game time at Bayern Munich, where he’s currently behind Sven Ulreich in the pecking order. Fans are now calling for him to get more opportunities in the Bundesliga, believing that his performance against a top-tier team like France is proof of his potential. With Bayern’s busy schedule, it might be time for the club to give their young talent a chance to shine domestically. It may also prove to be an opportunity to find a replacement for the soon-to-retire Manuel Neuer, a more permanent solution. Lille v Juventus - UEFA Champions League Photo by Rico Brouwer/Soccrates/Getty Images For not the first time, David is linked with a potential move to Bayern next summer. While Harry Kane has only just joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, the Rekordmeister are already proactively planning for what the club’s front line could look like in the next two years. As things currently stand, Kane does not exactly have a direct backup at the striker’s position, though Mathys Tel would be the most natural consideration for what would be referred to as a Kane backup, but his future with the club is relatively uncertain at this current juncture. Serge Gnabry can, in theory, play as a striker, though that is not his natural position.Focusing on the striker’s position, Bayern has their eyes on Lille and Canadian national team forward Jonathan David, who has been linked with a move to Munich before back when Robert Lewandowski was still the main man up front. Per information from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, board member for sport Max Eberl has been keeping tabs on David for a long while now, long before he began his role with Bayern. He has long since been a fan of David and would love to be able to bring him to Bayern if the opportunity should arise this coming summer. FBL-EUR-C1-LILLE-JUVENTUS Photo by FRANCOIS LO PRESTI/AFP via Getty Images David is highly appealing for Bayern because his current contract with Lille is set to expire in June 2025, so there is a possibility he could join as a free transfer. Additionally, because he will be entering the final year of his contract, he can agree to join a club as early as this coming January. This coincides well with the uncertainty of Tel’s future with Bayern, though there could be developments in the coming months with the French youngster that has not been able to get too many minutes under Vincent Kompany so far this season.Naturally, though, Bayern would face competition for David as Plettenberg reports that both Inter and Juventus are interested in trying to sign the Canadian as well. The fact that he could become a free agent this summer will likely add to the attraction and there will likely be more clubs that try to come in and make a move for him. So far this season, David has tallied 13 goals and two assists from 19 appearances across all competitions, which will only help more clubs take notice of him that might not have been already keeping tabs on him as long as Eberl has been.
