The 24-year-old Canadian is on the radar of many clubs across Europe and he can be acquired for the good price of one 2019 Lucas Hernandez:Jonathan David would cost a package of around €80m next summer as a free agent (including wages, agents commission and signing on fee). His agent is in talks with several clubs. Bayern are among clubs interested.– Sky Sports Germany journo Florian Plettenberg as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMiaSome people see this as a move to stop Alphonso Davies from moving to Real Madrid, given that both players are the main men of the Canadian Men’s National Soccer Team and know each other well. With contract negotiations with both Bayern and Madrid nonexistent (the latter happily waiting for Davies to leave on a free), the Rekordmeister will have to play their cards correctly.Looking for some talk on the prospect of Bayern Munich teaming up Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala? Ah...Bayern Munich returns to action on this Friday against FC Augsburg, so the boys were working hard to get back into form and rebuild the momentum that squad experienced before the break. France v Israel - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A2 Photo by Jean Catuffe/Getty Images Don’t let Alexander Nübel see this Bayern Munich is nearing the end of an era, the club’s legends are close to retirement and the squad is having to rebuild itself. The biggest change that is being anticipated, is Manuel Neuer. Bayern has in their possession multiple gems in terms of goalkeeping talent. One of them being Daniel Peretz, Israeli national keeper. Peretz, who joined Bayern this past summer, has impressed with his composure and potential, recently praised for his performances against France. Despite limited opportunities behind Sven Ulreich and Neuer, he has already caught the eye of clubs like Union Berlin, Anderlecht, Copenhagen, and Brøndby, who were interested in him before his Bayern move.According to the same report that tells us about the transfer interest (from Kerry Hau via @iMiaSanMia), Daniel Peretz is staying put at Bayern Munich for now, with no plans for a winter transfer. However, a loan move next season could be on the cards as his future hinges on Manuel Neuer’s longevity. Bayern still views Neuer as their No. 1, but at 38, the clock is ticking on his remarkable career.Meanwhile, Alexander Nübel, on loan at Stuttgart, complicates matters. With solid performances in the Bundesliga, Nübel could stake a claim to be Neuer’s successor. Peretz, while talented, might face a tough battle to cement his place in Bayern’s long-term plans. The Bavarian giants are navigating a tricky goalkeeper succession plan. For now, Peretz’s development—whether at Bayern or on loan—will be crucial as the club decides who takes over the gloves from their legendary captain.

Hungary v Germany - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by David Balogh/Getty Images The Borussia Dortmund midfielder was there when his team needed him. Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha lived out a dream debut on Tuesday as Germany drew 1-1 vs. Hungary in its Nations League Group A finale.Having already topped the group with a match to spare, Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann was in the mood for rotation and made nine changes to his XI from the weekend — when Germany blasted Bosnia and Herzegovina away, 7-0.Nmecha was one of the beneficiaries as he stepped in for club teammate Pascal Groß alongside Bayer Leverkusen destroyer Robert Andrich. And he came away from the match with an excellently taken goal — poached home at close range after a corner and a parried header on target from another teammate, Nico Schlotterbeck.“Of course you dream of a moment like that,” Nmecha said of his debut goal in comments captured via DFB.de. “Playing for Germany is enormous, I am just happy.”The 23-year-old ex-VfL Wolfsburg star has only featured as a rotational player for the Black and Yellows this season, but will hope to have impressed enough to continue getting call-ups to the national team.Looking for some instant reactions from Germany’s shocking 1-1 draw with Hungary? England v Germany: UEFA Nations League - League Path Group 3 Photo by Michael Regan - The FA/The FA via Getty Images Of course an Italian club looks at defenders Eric Dier has not had the easiest time with Bayern Munich, establishing himself under Thomas Tuchel but not Vincent Kompany who prefers Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae. The 30-year-old managed to get this far because of a playing time clause that got triggered. If he fancies Italy, then he’s in luck because Juventus is monitoring his situation along with that of Harry Maguire at Manchester United (Corriere Dello Sport via Goal)Juventus are facing the same issues as Real Madrid in the sense that their starting center-backs are out injured and therefore need reinforcements. Dier and Maguire are low in the pecking order at their current clubs which makes the prospect of signing either player enticing for the Bianconeri.Bayern are experiencing defender injuries of their own but maintain solid results while Man United are starting to find their footing again after a dismal period of Erik ten Hag.Looking for some talk on the prospect of Bayern Munich teaming up Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala? NAC Breda v PSV - Eredivisie Photo by Joris Verwijst/BSR Agency/Getty Images Go and rip the UCL to shreds like you have the Eredivisie, man. Rooting for you. Malik Tillman’s time at Bayern Munich was something of a rollercoaster. From being signed merely to facilitate a signing of older brother Timothy to a quick ascension through the youth ranks, from winning the 3. Liga to suffering a devastating anterior cruciate ligament injury, his time in Munich was filled with twists and turns. The nature of his exit, however, was one last twist that Tillman did not expect. Bayern Munich had loaned the American international out to PSV, inserting a €12 million buy option as well as an option to cancel the loan for a lower fee. In the end, the Bavarian giants decided to not to exercise the latter option, allowing PSV to seal the permanent transfer of Tillman. Speaking in a recent interview, the recent Champions League MOTM for the Eredivisie champions against Girona expressed his surprise at the decision:“It honestly surprised me that they did not [use the option to cancel the loan]. After all, we had multiple positive discussions with Bayern representatives, Tillman mused, as captured by @iMiaSanMia_GER. “But in the end they decided against it.”But he could not muster any anger at this snub in the face of the gratitude he has for the club: “I have a lot to thank Bayern for. I was allowed to stay 8 years at the club and learn a lot. It was there that my first steps into professional football were made possible, as well as unbelievable and unforgettable experiences.”In fact, Tillman maintains that an eventual return remains a dream of his. Asked about reports that Bayern still has a buy option in the region of €35 million for him, he had this to say: “I cannot comment on any numbers, that is not important for me. But I won’t make a secret of this: A return to Bayern remains a dream for me and a big goal to reach.”Looking for some talk on the prospect of Bayern Munich teaming up Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala? Aston Villa FC v FC Bayern München - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD2 Photo by S. Mellar/FC Bayern via Getty Images The backup goalkeeper is not available... Bayern Munich’s backup goalkeeper, Sven Ulreich, is perhaps one of the most reliable backup keepers a club can have. But everyone needs a moment.According to a report (captured by @iMiaSanMia), Ulreich will be out until further notice from the club due to private reasons. Bayern’s media officer confirmed the news earlier today morning. Will this affect the goalkeeping pecking order? Fans have been asking to see Daniel Peretz get more minutes on the field after a dip in Manuel Neuer’s performances, and seeing that Ulreich is now out, they may get what they want. Either way, the fans hope that nothing is majorly wrong and everything will be okay soon. While you’re here, check out our Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show for Bayern Munich vs. FC Augsburg on Patreon, Spotify, or below:Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Hungary v Germany - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images That is a big loss for the next round... While Germany earned a 1-1 draw with Hungary on Tuesday in the UEFA Nations League, former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann might have walked off the pitch feeling like a loser. Nagelsmann took a gamble and subbed on Florian Wirtz in the second half of a game where it might not have been necessary. Luck being what it is, Wirtz picked up a yellow card, which will see him suspended for the first leg of the quarterfinals.“I’m a bit annoyed about the yellow card for Flo. But it is what it is. We will put another good player on the pitch,” Nagelsmann said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). To replace Wirtz iws easier said than done, of course, but Germany is rolling under Nagelsmann and appears well-equipped to handle his absence. Hungary v Germany - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images Bayern Munich will leap back into action on Friday... Madrid, Barca believe they have legit chance to snare Kimmich (Barca Universal)Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich has not committed to anything for 2026 and that has given Real Madrid and FC Barcelona hope that they can lure the Germany international away to Spain: The battle for Bayern Munich’s star midfielder Joshua Kimmich is heating up, with Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly vying for his signature on a free transfer next summer. As per a report from SPORT, Kimmich’s future is one of the most closely watched topics and it could take an intriguing turn in the coming months. The German is under contract with Bayern Munich until June 2025. However, from January 2024, he will be eligible to negotiate with other clubs for a potential move once his current deal expires. While Bayern are engaged in talks to extend his stay, the process has been far from straightforward.Several factors are complicating the renewal discussions. Reports suggest Kimmich has been critical of a perceived lack of recognition from Bayern until recently, which has left him dissatisfied. Moreover, Bayern Munich are grappling with financial constraints as they look to manage their wage bill. The club is reportedly restructuring its salary framework, which adds another layer of complexity. Currently earning around €20 million gross annually, Kimmich is unlikely to accept a pay cut, which could lead to further disagreements. Amid this uncertainty, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the situation. Kimmich’s ability to operate effectively in multiple positions makes him a particularly appealing target. At Barcelona, while promising talents like Marc Casado and Marc Bernal offer depth in midfield, Kimmich’s experience and versatility could elevate the team further. Meanwhile, Hansi Flick could play a crucial role in influencing Kimmich’s decision. Having managed the midfielder during his successful stint at Bayern Munich, Flick knows how to maximise Kimmich’s potential. With Kimmich’s future reaching a critical juncture, the coming months will reveal whether Barcelona or Real Madrid can secure his services or if Bayern manage to hold on to their star.Kimmich is representing himself, likely will not accept a pay cut, and could be operating with the leverage that he has real options to leave the club. Bayern Munich might not have much wiggle room with the midfielder. Depending on how cut-throat he wants to be, Kimmich could really make life difficult for the club. With coach connection, Juve eyeing Zirkzee (ESPN)Former Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee has not had a great time in England thus far and Juventus might be looking to take advantage of Manchester United looking to unload him: Juventus have placed Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee on their list of targets, reports Calciomercato. While a central defender is the Serie A side’s priority, Juve will look into a deal for the Netherlands international if the Red Devils make him available for transfer. Zirkzee, 23, has struggled to find his form at Old Trafford after making a move from Bologna in July. His manager at Bologna was Thiago Motta, who also moved on in the summer ... to Juventus. Zirkzee has one goal and two assists in 17 appearances this season. Juve striker Dusan Vlahovic will be into the final year of his contract next summer and will move on if no extension is agreed; if that does happen, Juve could explore a loan with an obligation to sign permanently for Zirkzee.Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show: Bayern Munich vs. FC Augsburg (Bavarian Football Works)Bayern Munich is back in action in the Bundesliga on on Friday against a pesky FC Augsburg side. After the international break, Bayern Munich is looking to rebuild some momentum. FC Bayern München v SL Benfica - UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD4 Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Getty Images A move back to England isn’t a bad shout... Leroy Sané is beginning to attract interest from other clubs as he is rumored to be one of the players Bayern Munich is looking to offload. The Premier League is an environment that he’s familiar with and Manchester United and Arsenal FC are the clubs who want to sign him. The 28-year-old appreciates the interest but remains committed to Bayern.“I have a fondness for the league and still follow certain games on TV,” Sané said (Sport Bild via Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “But the attraction for me lies in the club where I can show my best performance, develop and win titles. I have that at FC Bayern. This is where I have my biggest challenge and goals.”Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are also on the chopping block as the Bavarians look to reduce their wage bill by selling some players. At the same time, the Rekordmeister is looking at some pricey players, too.

Hungary v Germany - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Marvin Ibo Guengoer - GES Sportfoto/Getty Images Ice cold. Former Bayern Munich coach and current German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann has to feel snakebitten when it comes to handballs this year. For the second time in 2024, the coach felt like his team was on the wrong side of a handball call as defender Robin Koch was whistled for an infraction in the waning minutes of extra time, which set up a game-tying penalty kick by Dominik Szoboszlai to close the game at 1-1.Nagelsmann does not blame Koch at all, though. Instead he went back to the crucial penalty no-call in Germany’s EURO 2024 quarterfinal exit to Spain, which UEFA later determined was ruled incorrectly.“I asked the referee if he had watched the game against Spain. But he didn’t quite understand what I meant,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “For me, that’s not handball at all. Robin [Koch] turns away and pulls his arms towards his body. I would never have given a penalty. “I also think it’s crazy that VAR sent him [referee] to the monitor. Even with 47 slow-mo replays the action always looks the same... Normally the VAR has to say: let the game continue. It’s a blatantly clear wrong decision. I’m curious to see what UEFA will publish about this in four months.”we're not bitter we're not bitter— Bavarian Football Works (@bavarianfbworks.bsky.social) 2024-11-20T01:24:35.419ZIn the end, the yellow card to Florian Wirtz (who will be suspended for the next match), probably hurt more than getting a draw vs. Hungary. Hungary v Germany - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by David Balogh/Getty Images Yeah, us too... Germany slogged to a 1-1 draw result in the final match of its Nations League A group stage at Hungary. The German side grew visibly more frustrated as the game wore on, resulting in a physical and chippy affair by the second half — and goals traded in annoying circumstances. Germany looked about to walk off the pitch as happy winners before a last minute scramble resulted in a penalty...and the Hungarian equalizer. “In the end, it is annoying,” said German defensive midfielder Robert Andrich (Bayer Leverkusen) after the match, as captured by DFB.de. “Of course we wanted to go into the international break with a win. The Hungarians made it difficult for us, they were aggressive in the tackles. We actually scored our goal at the right time. The late equalizer spoils it a bit, but we can still be happy with 2024 and want to build on that in March.”Looking for some instant reactions from Germany’s shocking 1-1 draw with Hungary? Germany v Bosnia and Herzegovina - UEFA Nations League 2024/25 League A Group A3 Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images It’s not about the stumble but how far this team has come. Germany was not at its best but escaped with a draw in its Nations League Group A finale on the road at Hungary — and that is a result head coach Julian Nagelsmann will take, under the circumstances.“We can do things better. Some things were good, others less good,” Nagelsmann stated after the match (as captured by DFB.de). “The conditions were not so simple, on Saturday we won 7:0 and made nine changes in the starting eleven. You have to turn a blind eye to one or two things. “It took us a long time to get into order in the first half. Overall, you have to look at the bigger picture. When you see how Hungary celebrates the 1-1, it is also an award for our team.”The former Bayern Munich coach recounted the progress the national team has made since a year ago, when a faltering and still-experimental side hardly looked ready to host the European Championships. “The sense of togetherness in our team is unique,” said Nagelsmann. “Last November we were all on the ground and we have developed from that. If we approach 2025 the same way we did this year, I have the feeling that we will be much better prepared than we were in 2024.”Looking for some instant reactions from Germany’s shocking 1-1 draw with Hungary?
