No Tampering With Nostalgic Naderi Cafe
Plans to change the outdoor area of Naderi Café and Hotel, Tehran's only nationally inscribed cafe, were scuttled, thanks to the timely action of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization and municipal officials.
Late last week, unofficial reports said the owners of the property intend to divide the cafe's garden by building a wall.

Iran Budget Bill in Parliament on Sunday
President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to submit the budget bill for the upcoming fiscal year (March 2018-19) to the parliament on Sunday after the Cabinet approved it on Wednesday, the government spokesman and president of Planning and Budget Organization said.
“One of the features of next year’s budget is the performance-based allocation of budget to each governmental body and not the traditional method of distributing the money according to the treasury inflows,” Mohammad Baqer Nobakht was also quoted as saying.

Mushrooms Finding Way Into Iranian Food Basket
Report
The consumption of mushroom in Iran has been growing in the last five decades. Currently, 700 hectares of land are under mushroom cultivation across the country.
Malard Mushroom Factory, established in the fiscal 1985-86, is the biggest mushroom cultivation spot in Asia, ILNA reported.
Hossein Riahi, the owner, said currently the factory has over 100 cultivation shelters while the number was only 13 when the factory became operational.
According to Riahi, the factory exports over 20 tons of mushrooms to Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar and Turkmenistan on a monthly basis. Read More
Rouhani Inaugurates Port Dubbed "International Gateway"
On Sunday, President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated the first phase of Chabahar’s Shahid Beheshti Port in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, in the presence of some 70 visiting dignitaries from 17 countries.
In the president's words, the inauguration of the first phase of Shahid Beheshti Port marks a historic day for Iran, particularly for the people of Chabahar.
"Chabahar will turn into the biggest port of the country in the future and would be of considerable significance both politically and economically. Iraqi, Turkish Interest in Iran's Gas Station Market
Iraq and Turkey are willing to cooperate with Iran in expanding and modernizing the country's aging gas stations, managing director of filling stations' planning and research center said.
"Preliminary negotiations have been held with private enterprises from Iraq and Turkey, and they are ready to transfer the much-need technical know-how to Iran to install advanced equipment in gas stations," Ali Maneshi was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency on Thursday. Iran's state-run gas station and fuel market, which has been closed to foreign companies, "has a great potential for attracting investors", Maneshi said, adding that holding regular international conventions can help the country introduce the unique opportunity to those who are interested in investing in the lucrative business.

MRC: No Currency Shock Till March
The research arm of the Iranian Parliament has published a report on the status of the country’s foreign exchange market in the coming months, predicting a mostly stable environment by the end of current fiscal year (March 20, 2018).

BRICS Accounts for One-Third of Iran’s Non-Oil Trade
Trade between Iran and BRICS member countries amounted to $18.26 billion during the eight months to Nov. 22, which comprises one-third of Iran’s non-oil trade during the period.
The latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration indicate an 8.12% growth in trade between Iran and BRICS member states compared with last year's corresponding period.

Currency Market Heats Up

The rial hit a record low against the US dollar in Tehran's foreign exchange market, in keeping with its customary surge in December every year.
