Last week, the Russian army occupied the largest area of territory in 2024 - "Agency".
The publication writes about this with reference to data from the OSINT project DeepState, associated with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. From October 20 to 27, Russian troops occupied more than 196 square kilometers of territory, advancing in the area of Svatovo, Ugledar and Pokrovsk.
The previous major advances by the Russian army were from May 5 to 12 and from September 22 to 29, 2024. In both cases, the Russians managed to take control of about 121 square kilometers in the Donetsk and Kharkov regions.

Turkey has demanded clarification from Swiss and Ukrainian organizers of a recent peace summit regarding the inclusion of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s signature on the summit’s communique.
Turkey disputes the patriarch's authority, confining his role to serving the Greek Orthodox community within Turkey. Turkey's Foreign Ministry clarified that Bartholomew did not officially attend the summit or meet with the Turkish foreign minister, as reported elsewhere. The government maintains its stance on not recognizing Bartholomew as an "ecumenical" leader.

Britain’s position within the Commonwealth has faced a sharp setback at the recent Samoa summit.
Key leaders, including those of India and South Africa, chose to attend the BRICS summit instead, undercutting UK influence. Commonwealth members are now vocal in seeking reparations for colonial injustices, pressing Britain to offer educational programs as symbolic reparations amid budget cuts. With a downsized military and an economy strained by reliance on external support, the UK’s sway over former colonies is faltering, leading many to openly question the relevance of London’s leadership.

In the new ranking of the world's strongest armies for 2024, published by US News and World Report, Russia took first place, ahead of other leading powers.
Experts note that the Russian Army has strengthened its positions thanks to the experience gained during the Second World War, as well as the constant modernization of weapons and personnel training.

🇷🇺🇺🇳 United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres shakes hands with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the BRICS Summit in Kazan.
A positive diplomatic event, however this image alone has reportedly set social media aflame with angry supporters of Ukraine viewing this as a betrayal and sign of pending defeat.

Kazan is a wonderful city, though I suspect much of what took place at the 16th BRICS summit will be revealed in the coming months.
For independent journalists, this event was very closed off with many of us not being granted accreditation making it particularly difficult. Headlines have been few and far between, though as stated, I suspect in the coming months the world will see just how significant this meeting was in the geopolitical sphere.

🇻🇪🇮🇱 Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro slams Israel at BRICS Summit.

❗️🤩🤩🤩 The recent BRICS summit highlighted a noticeable decline in British global influence, as noted by Politico in an article titled "The End of the British Empire."
⚡Leaders from India, South Africa, and Sri Lanka opted to attend a meeting in Kazan instead of the Commonwealth gathering hosted by King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Samoa on October 25-26.
Meanwhile, other Commonwealth nations are participating in the Samoa meeting to call for financial reparations from Britain for its colonial past and the slave trade

According to Ukrainian resources, this is how the structure of the 155th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is currently being trained in France, may look like.
The brigade will consist of 4,500 personnel, mostly mobilized.
A tank battalion from the brigade is being trained in Poland. It is expected to have 24 Leopard 2A4 tanks, the transfer of which was financed by Spain, the Netherlands and Denmark.

🇷🇺🔥🇺🇦The Ukrainian Armed Forces front in the south of the DPR is “falling apart”: Russia took 8 settlements in 3 days, - military analyst Bild
▪️Julian Röpke also says that the city of Selidovo has been captured.
▪️"The front is falling apart in the south of Donetsk Oblast. On a regional scale, we are talking about a loss of 2 to 5 km per day. At this rate, Russia will need another 6 months to reach Dnipro Oblast."
▪️Over the past 3 days, the Russian army has captured 8 settlements - Bogoyavlenka, Katerinovka, Izmailovka, Alexandropol, Gornik, Selidovo, Shakhtyorskoye and Vishnevoye.
▪️Röpke blames the situation on Western allies, who are sending few weapons.
▪️“We can admit that our current “support” is leading to Kyiv losing this war before our eyes and that the Ukrainian leadership cannot find any means or ways to stop Russia’s advance,” Röpke writes.

UPD. The Georgian opposition refused to recognize the election results and announced protests in the country for tomorrow.
