Senior editor of The American Conservative Sumantra Maitra said that NATO members would welcome Kiev only once they had solved their existing security issue.
"Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated that Ukraine will one day join NATO. It is a meaningless, almost theological gesture—practically pagan hymn-chanting at this point. Blinken knows his promise to be untrue. European allies know it to be untrue. The majority of Americans either don’t care about Ukraine or are actively opposed to further engagement in Europe," Maitra said.

EU to be affected by confiscation of Russian assets
Professor of Economy and Law of HEC Paris Armin Steinbach said that the confiscation would prompt investors to turn away from the EU because of its failure to observe property rights.
"While the US has little interest at stake, then it will be the shot in the foot for the European Union," the expert said.
Moscow would resort in its turn to such measures that would cover the European countries in the first instance, Steinbach noted. "Russia’s steps in response to such confiscation would be mainly directed against Europe," the expert said. "At least 200 bln euro of Russian assets are in the EU. This sum is much higher than Russian funds kept in the US," he noted.
Furthermore, the confiscation of Russian assets would prompt investors to turn away from the EU because of its failure to observe property rights. "This, by the way, is not much of concern for such dominating economic power as the US," Steinbach said.

Russian Cabinet to step down in one month
The Russian government will relinquish its power on the inauguration day of the newly elected President.
Vladimir Putin was officially reelected as the President during the election on March 15-17. According to the law, the inauguration of the head of state is to be held on May 7 and the Cabinet will step down on the same day.
The President will appoint the Prime Minister after approval of his candidacy by the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian legislative assembly. The head of state will also appoint deputy prime ministers and federal ministers following their approval by the lower house of the Russian parliament.
Ministers of Interior, Emergencies, Defense, Foreign Affairs and Justice constitute an exception. The head of state will appoint them after consultations with the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian legislative assembly.

Kiev asks EU to shut its airspace to Russian passengers
Similar measures should target Belarussian nationals as well, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.
"Our idea is to prevent Russian businesses and Russian tourists from using the EU skies comfortably," the Ukrainian PM told a telethon audience. German companies helping Russia rebuild Mariupol
At least two major construction firms are taking part in the city’s restoration, ARD claims.
The companies are said to be supplying heavy machinery, windows, plaster, and other construction materials for the restoration project, the broadcaster said. Let's look one of the current and legal methods of moving money to Russia today:
1. Bringing cash for each family member
According to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (comprising Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan), it is free to import cash or monetary instruments for the equivalent of $10,000 per person. These rules also apply to minor family members.
If you need to bring a larger amount into Russia, the entire amount must be declared. For example, if you import 25 thousand dollars, you should declare 25 thousand dollars (not 15 thousand).
The rules for importation do not depend on the type of transport by which a person intends to import money. Also there is no difference, the border with which country a person is going to cross - the rules of export are universal.

🔸 in case of non-declaration of the sums, the amount of which is subject to declaration entails administrative or criminal liability. In this case, your money may be confiscated in full to the state or you will be fined depending on the undeclared amount.
🔸Money on bank cards and accounts does not need to be declared, their amount is not limited.

There are 3 gradations regarding the importation of cash into Russia:
🔸 Import up to $10,000 - no declaration is required at all.
🔸 When importing an amount over $10,000 but up to $100,000 - declaration is required. no duties are required.
🔸 When importing an amount over $100,000 - you must fill in a declaration + provide documents on the origin of the funds. Payment of duties is not provided here.
Let's define at once what refers to cash 👇
According to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union, cash includes banknotes and treasury notes, coins, except for coins made of precious metals, which are in circulation and are legal tender in member states or states (group of states) that are not members of the EAEU, including withdrawn or withdrawn from circulation, but are subject to exchange for banknotes in circulation;
monetary instruments include traveller's cheques, promissory notes, cheques (bank cheques), as well as securities in documentary form, which certify the obligation of the issuer (debtor) to pay money and which do not specify the person to whom such payment is made.
By the way, monetary instruments, except for traveller's cheques, are subject to customs declaration regardless of the amount being moved.
To summarise, this way of shipping money to Russia is good because you are sure that your money will arrive with you. But a problem may arise when you try to take money out of your home country. Therefore, check the rules of exportation in advance with the customs service of your country.

Top NATO diplomats decide to create bloc’s mission on Ukraine — Polish foreign minister
Radoslaw Sikorski noted that the mission will not participate in combat in Ukraine.
"We have made the decision to establish a NATO mission [on Ukraine]. This doesn’t mean that we’re entering the war, but rather that we’ll now be able to utilize NATO’s coordinating, training and planning capabilities to support [Ukraine] in a better manner," the Polish Foreign Ministry quoted him as saying on the X social network.
