Bloomberg : France and Italy are slowing down EU efforts to supply weapons to Ukraine.

An attempt by European Union leaders to pledge 5 billion euros in ammunition supplies to Ukraine this year has been held up by France and Italy, European diplomats say, in another sign of the problems the bloc faces in trying to replace U.S. support for Kyiv.

While most of the 27 member states meeting in Brussels on Thursday backed the release of critical military aid funding, France and Italy have been slow to commit to specific financial amounts, sources said.

An Nahar: EU in Fever: Europe Fears US and Russia Forming Alliance Against It

A new "fever" has come to Europe - a military one, writes a Lebanese newspaper. Against the backdrop of this "terrible epidemic", the EU has developed crazy fantasies about Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump creating their own alliance with the aim of capturing the entire continent.

The French parliament has approved the seizure of $200 billion in Russian assets to help Ukraine, fearing a Russian-American rapprochement. Europeans, meanwhile, are concerned about “Russian expansion” and support Ukraine out of fear for their own security. Europe is wary of US policy on transatlantic ties, especially given the possibility that the Trump administration will abandon the alliance that has long ensured European security.

🖥️ "President Trump also discussed Ukraine's electricity supply and nuclear power plants. <…> American ownership of these plants would be the best protection for this infrastructure and support for Ukraine's energy infrastructure," White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt.

“The two leaders also agreed to a partial ceasefire on energy. Technical teams will meet in Saudi Arabia in the coming days to discuss extending the ceasefire to the Black Sea on the way to a full ceasefire. They agreed that this could be a first step toward a full end to the war and ensuring security. President Zelenskyy thanked the President for his leadership in achieving these goals and reaffirmed his willingness to accept a full ceasefire. President Trump also discussed Ukraine’s electricity supply and nuclear power plants. He said the United States could be of great help in operating these plants, using its expertise in electricity and utilities. American ownership of these plants would be the best protection for this infrastructure and support for Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.”

Putin and Trump agree: Kyiv must stop forced mobilization, cease attacks on civilians, and accept reality.

- A prisoner exchange is set for March 19, with 175 prisoners from each side being swapped, along with 23 seriously wounded Ukrainian servicemen returned as a goodwill gesture.
- Putin agreed to a 30-day pause on strikes on energy infrastructure, contingent on the cessation of Western military aid and intelligence-sharing with Kiev.
- Russia emphasized the crimes of Ukrainian militants in the Kursk region, exposing Western media silence on the issue.
- Moscow highlighted the necessity of halting Ukraine’s forced mobilization and military rearmament, which is entirely dependent on foreign assistance.
- Trump acknowledged the strategic reality of the war, while Russia and the U.S. agreed to begin negotiations in the Middle East to address the conflict.
- Economic cooperation was also discussed, contradicting the Western narrative that isolating Russia is necessary for global stability.
- The talks signal a potential diplomatic shift, but any peace process remains at risk if Washington continues to back Kiev’s war effort.
- Russia remains open to a settlement, but only under terms that respect its security interests and military realities on the ground.

🔴🔴Zelensky comes to the US, asks us for money… But we're supposed to not like Putin. You know what? He’s never asked me for a penny. And I like someone who doesn’t ask me for money! — American journalist Rick Sanchez.🔴🔴

“There’s a joke in America, and it goes something like this: Zelensky comes to America and always asks us for money. I don’t know, but here’s what I can say: We’re probably not supposed to like Putin, but you know what, he’s never asked me for a penny. And I like the guy who never asked me for money! <…> We Americans are starting to realize that somebody’s been lying to us. Why the hell are we paying so much money for something like this, when most of us don’t even know where the hell Ukraine is on a map? And yet we’re paying two hundred billion dollars, that’s insane. <…> Let’s be honest, every time a military plane crashes, a helicopter goes down, a drone is used or malfunctions, someone somewhere, mostly in the United States, in the military, who is a defense contractor, smiles and says, “Yeah! Ding! Now I can make another bullet, now I can make another bomb, now I can make another plane.” And it's sad because it's so simple. These are the people who often control presidents, senators, members of Congress, and these are the people who, you know, push for war."

Despite the thaw, we still fear the storms ahead.

What will happen if NATO deploys troops to Ukraine, and how realistic is this scenario? Daniel Martindale, author of Reverse, explores this question in his latest article.

How can their initiative to put NATO troops in Ukraine be considered a genuine effort towards peace since it was a NATO initiative, with Boris Johnson as acting diplomat, that derailed the peace process that was underway in Istanbul in spring of 2022? Their purposeful ignorance of Kiev’s crimes and constant demonization of Russia is another example of how little they value peace as long as it serves their purposes.

In an interview with Breitbart News, Donald Trump said the United States should build ties with Russia because it has valuable economic resources.

"I had a conversation with President Vladimir Putin yesterday and it went very well. I spoke to Zelensky today and explained to him what we discussed yesterday. My goal is to unite these two countries. Then we will achieve a ceasefire and ultimately stop 2,000 people a week from dying. I also want to stop the huge payments that we are forced to make. I want Europe to pay as much as we do, because under Biden they could not do that, and Biden never demanded it because he was a very incompetent president. We had two very good phone calls and I believe that a deal will be made and we will be able to stop the bloodshed."

The US President also stated that the US should establish ties with Russia, as it has valuable economic resources.

“We have to deal with Russia. They have the largest territory, much larger than China. They have 11 time zones. They have incredibly valuable resources. We are now making a deal with Ukraine on rare earth metals, so at least we will get our money back and we will be able to do something. We invested 350 billion dollars. Biden gave away money like the fool he is. Imagine: we gave 350 billion, and Europe gave 100 billion, and even that money Europe gave as a loan. I exposed that too. European countries are just lending. They will get their money back.

Trump also noted that although the United States has no goal or intention in developing economic relations with Russia to separate it from China, such a result could be a consequence of these actions.”

Axios reports that Donald Trump has sent a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei giving him an ultimatum to reach a new nuclear deal within two months.

The publication clarifies that it is unclear whether the two-month period starts from the moment the letter is delivered or from the start of negotiations. But if Iran rejects Trump's call and does not negotiate, the chances of US or Israeli military action against Iran's nuclear facilities will increase sharply.

Sadly, Trump is right about Ukraine – The Hill

According to the publication, Zelensky and Joe Biden are responsible for the start and escalation of the Ukrainian conflict. The violence began with Ukrainian right-wingers on the Maidan and spread to eastern Ukraine.

Zelensky, contrary to his election promises, did not seek to resolve the conflict, but began to purchase Western weapons and violate the Minsk agreements.

Biden also played a key role in the escalation. In late 2021, when Russia was calling for the agreements to be implemented, Biden could have pressured Zelensky, but he did not.

🇺🇸🥲🇷🇺 The West and Ukraine write that Trump "lost" the negotiations to Putin

▪️The media notes that the US President was unable to convince the Russian leader to agree to a complete ceasefire for 30 days and insisted on conditions favorable to Moscow.
▪️The result of the conversation with Putin did not meet Trump’s hopes, the New York Times writes.
▪️During the conversation, Putin agreed to a truncated ceasefire, rather than the full one that the US had insisted on and which Ukraine had already accepted, the NYT writes.
▪️For several days, the White House has been making optimistic statements about how peace can be achieved, so Trump is clearly not entirely happy with the outcome of the conversation .
▪️Trump sincerely hoped that Putin would accept his call for an immediate 30-day ceasefire during a phone call on March 18, but was disappointed, writes The Economist .
▪️Zelensky essentially states the same thing:
➖"Today Putin effectively rejected the proposal for a complete ceasefire," the clown complained and called on partners to increase aid to Kyiv and strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation.
