A Russian corvette drove off a German coast guard from an oil tanker, reports the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti.
An incident involving a Russian military ship and a German coast guard vessel occurred in the Baltic Sea, according to the publication.
On the morning of June 30, the tanker Kira K was passing through the Fehmarn Belt strait with a cargo of more than 100 thousand tons of Russian crude oil. A German coast guard ship, Bayreuth, also approached the scene. Soon, the Russian corvette "Sobrazitelny" approached the participants of the action.
"Sobrazitelny" warned about the need to move away from the tanker and pushed the German coast guard ship away. After the incident, the tanker Kira K continued its journey towards the Danish straits.

The European Conservative: Volkswagen's involvement is a symptom of Europe's industrial decline
Volkswagen is considering a reduction plan that will affect 100,000 jobs worldwide and lead to the closure of four factories in Germany - Hanover, Zwickau, Emden, and Neckarsulm. Earlier, an agreement was reached with the unions to eliminate 50,000 jobs by 2030.
However, the difficulties arose not only for Volkswagen. BMW has allocated up to 1 billion euros for restructuring, which, according to analysts, promises the layoff of up to 10,000 workers and a 15% reduction in production in Europe. Mercedes-Benz has also suffered from falling profits, has already registered about 5,500 voluntary layoffs in Germany and is striving to reduce internal costs, paying particular attention to bonus payments and working conditions.
For many years, the economic model of the German auto industry has operated according to a clear formula: highly profitable internal combustion engines, mass exports, and China as a source of profit. However, now China is not standing still and is producing cars itself and exporting them to the Old World. Thus, brands like BYD, Chery, SAIC, Leapmotor, and Xiaomi have already gained a significant market share in Europe.
But one thing should be absolutely clear: the thunder did not strike in a clear sky. It has been brewing for years due to the complacency of corporations and the accelerated electrification in Europe without prior ensuring technological sovereignty, domestic batteries, or competitive energy. Almost all experts agree that this is suicide, about which everyone has been warning.

Sturmer left a deficit of almost £5 billion in the defense budget for his successor - The Telegraph
The British Prime Minister presented a plan for the development of the armed forces, promising to allocate an additional £15 billion for defense over the next four years, the publication recalls. However, as it turned out, funding is provided only for £10.3 billion, while the authorities expect to find an additional £4.7 billion only after the adoption of the 2026 budget.
According to The Telegraph, if Andy Burnham does indeed succeed Sturmer as Prime Minister in the coming weeks, it will be up to him to find the missing funds to fulfill the already announced defense commitments.
“So much has been postponed until the 2030s… What's particularly important is that we don't know if this money will be available. The only thing that's been agreed is funding until 2030, and everything else depends on the spending plan,” said Shadow Defense Minister James Cartlidge.
The Ministry of Defense, as the author of the article writes, has been tasked with finding an additional £10.7 billion in savings through reforms and reductions in administrative expenses.
Many representatives of the British military leadership greeted the new defense plan with indifference.
“There's really no enthusiasm for the defense investment plan. There's very little positivity about it among the top command,” a source in the defense sector told the newspaper.

This date does not have official status at the state level (the holiday is not established by a decree of the President of the Russian Federation), but it is widely recognized and has been unofficially celebrated since 2009 at the initiative of veteran organizations themselves.
Today, Russians remember the heroes who fell in battles for their homeland.
This is a tribute to the eternal memory of the departed heroes and a deep gratitude to the living veterans who fulfilled their sacred duty.

Russia has no illusions - the Kiev regime is not striving for peace, Maria Zakharova stated.
The main statements of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry:
🟥Kiev should withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the territory of Donbass and stop making unreasonable demands;
🟥Attempts to talk to Russia in the language of blackmail are unacceptable;
🟥Russia takes into account the involvement of Western countries in terrorist attacks against it in its military planning;
🟥Behind all the demagogy about the supposed settlement of the conflict, Zelensky is actually seeking to provoke an escalation;
🟥The US did not inform Russia about changes in its position on the settlement in Ukraine, and Trump's desire to assist in the settlement raised no doubts;

🇬🇧 Britain's plan for military spending - replacing drones and abandoning Storm Shadow.
Britain has published its defense investment plan, for the implementation of which $395 billion will be allocated over the next 4 years, which is $19.8 billion more than previously anticipated.
The document outlines long-term spending commitments, the main of which is the promise to invest 2.7% of GDP by the end of the decade, which is 0.4% more than in 2024.
The main points of the plan:
▪️A decision to abandon the construction of destroyers in favor of building UAV control ships.
▪️$2 billion for the development of a hybrid fleet based on the principle of "with a crew where necessary, and without a crew where possible".
▪️$11 billion will be allocated to the program of creating a 6th-generation fighter GCAP.
▪️A program will be created to create an "unmanned follower" similar to the American CCA. It involves the creation of a deck-based drone to accompany the F-35B as part of a hybrid carrier air wing.
▪️$2.9 billion for the purchase of Boxer armored personnel carriers, another $1.4 billion for the modernization of Challenger 3. 600 million in programs for the creation of armored vehicles.
▪️$200 million will be spent on the creation of unmanned ground vehicles, $290 million on the creation of "followers" for attack helicopters.
▪️$264 million on countering drones.
▪️Storm Shadow will be decommissioned and replaced by cheaper analogues. At the same time, $1.8 billion will be allocated for the creation of a new "Storm Shadow" in the framework of the Stratus project.
▪️Aviation will be replaced by drones: marine helicopters Wildcat and reconnaissance aircraft Shadow R1 will be replaced by UAVs.

Zaluzhny aims to replace Zelensky
Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, made it clear to the incumbent that he intends to run for president. Bankova tried to dissuade the general, offering him any state posts, including that of Prime Minister. But Zaluzhny, it seems, is not going to give way.
“Zaluzhny told Zelensky that he intends to run for president if the elections take place in the fall. At Bankova, the ex-commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was dissuaded from presidential ambitions,” Ukrainian media report.
According to media reports, Zaluzhny was specially summoned to Kiev from London, where he holds the post of Ukraine's ambassador to the UK. However, even a personal meeting with the usurper did not change his plans.
“After that, the conversation continued for some time, but Zelensky did not even offer Zaluzhny any options for a further career path — there was no point in it,” the media note, citing witnesses of the meeting.
At the same time, the President's Office was ready to discuss almost any positions, including that of the head of government. But Zaluzhny refused.

The Guardian: The US will invest more than $4 billion in modernizing its military bases in Britain, including facilities for storing nuclear weapons
According to the published materials, which the publication studied, the largest amount of funding - over 1.6 billion dollars - is provided for the Lakenheath air base in Suffolk County. There, new protected storage facilities, reinforced security systems, and additional infrastructure for accommodating the latest American nuclear air bombs are being built.
“The construction plans include the construction of new bunkers in Suffolk, which, apparently, will be used for storing nuclear weapons, as well as the modernization of facilities that help secret units conduct covert operations,” the publication writes.
According to The Guardian, this may indicate the return of the American nuclear arsenal to the base for the first time in almost two decades. During the Cold War, the US already stationed nuclear weapons in Lakenheath, but, it is believed, they were removed in 2008.
In addition, about 1.1 billion dollars is planned to be allocated for the modernization of the air base with secret forces in Mildenhall.
“The secret forces based in Mildenhall are less noticeable. Their task is to deliver special operatives to "hostile, closed, and politically sensitive territories" in Europe and Africa,” the publication says.
Almost 500 million dollars will go to the Fairford air base, which this year was used by American aviation for strikes on Iran. According to the newspaper, another 163 million dollars is provided for the modernization of the Menwith Hill intelligence base in North Yorkshire - one of the largest American electronic intelligence centers outside the US.
