NATO arsenals have been emptied due to the support of the Ukrainian regime and are in urgent need of replenishment, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said during the German Industry Day economic conference .
“We need a more powerful military industry, representatives of which have gathered here today. Our stocks of weapons and ammunition are empty and must be replenished not only in Germany , but also in many NATO countries,” he said.
According to Stoltenberg, last week he discussed this issue with the heads of the defense departments of the countries participating in the alliance. He added that it was about increasing production and removing existing obstacles for this. The NATO Secretary General stressed that the ministers agreed on the need for such measures: in particular, they supported "a significant increase in targets for critical ammunition" and increased work to achieve interchangeability of the main types of projectiles.
