I personally have been singing the song here in the community that meme premium comes when most mango normies users understand and start to use Frax products. New simplified UI/UX is an important step in that direction 👊🏽

It's so that the new Frax USD stablecoin can be mint-redeemed for cash through Blackrock BUIDL. Any entity that has an account at Securitize/Blackrock can send BUIDL to the frxUSDcustodian.sol contract and mint frxUSD 1 to 1 and vice versa. This mechanism should also tighten the peg performance of Frax USD to USDC levels as it becomes "cash equivalent." We'll release the Frax USD docs soon so the mechanics are clearly explained in technical terms.

Blackrock is not an onchain DAO. They already want to work with Frax to do what they wrote in the gov proposal which is why they published it themselves. We've been talking to them for a while to scope this proposal in the background for many weeks. FXS holders simply have to now approve it. If Blackrock didn't approve of working with Frax this would never have been published.

What I was saying was, alongside the token upgrades I feel like FPI will disappear and be somehow mechanically merged with frxUSD
BUT, something you just said wolfehr made me realize I'm probably wrong.
FPI will probably continue to exist as it's own product like it always has, with profits continuing to be directed to soon-to-be-veFRAX.
My apologies if my theories confused anyone.
I recant my statement... for a minute I thought it would make more sense to be "mechanically rolled in" but upon further thought, I no longer think that will be the case.

FPIS is gone. FPI is now governed by Frax and profits are directed there.
FPI and frxUSD are pegged to different things though (i.e., FPI pegged to CPI and frxUSD pegged to 1 USD). Not sure how you rolled FPI mechanics into frxUSD, they're just pegged to different things
