It's so that the new Frax USD stablecoin can be mint-redeemed for cash through Blackrock BUIDL. Any entity that has an account at Securitize/Blackrock can send BUIDL to the frxUSDcustodian.sol contract and mint frxUSD 1 to 1 and vice versa. This mechanism should also tighten the peg performance of Frax USD to USDC levels as it becomes "cash equivalent." We'll release the Frax USD docs soon so the mechanics are clearly explained in technical terms.

Blackrock is not an onchain DAO. They already want to work with Frax to do what they wrote in the gov proposal which is why they published it themselves. We've been talking to them for a while to scope this proposal in the background for many weeks. FXS holders simply have to now approve it. If Blackrock didn't approve of working with Frax this would never have been published.

if you wish to use sfrxETH then you can stake is as collateral on dTRINITY, borrow dUSD and then put the dUSD in dUSD lending. get the rebate % for the borrowed amount and earn airdrop points. but your taking on the risk of sfrxETH dropping in price and the loan getting liquidated, so you will need to check the health factor as prices changes
