Although direct democracy is not unique to Switzerland, it is probably more highly developed here than in any other country. Swiss citizens can either propose legislation of their own, or work to defeat legislation already approved by parliament.

Why do we eat cake on birthdays?
No one is complaining about this tradition, but haven’t you always wondered why we do it?
The ancient Egyptians are actually credited with “inventing” the celebration of birthdays. They believed that when pharaohs were crowned gods, it represented their “birth” as a god and that the day needed to be celebrated.
The ancient Greeks borrowed the tradition and decided it would be even better with the addition of a sweet treat. They made moon-shaped pies to honor Artemis, goddess of the moon, and added lit candles to make the cakes shine like the moon. That’s where we get birthday candles from. Since the ingredients to make a cake were pretty expensive, the tradition didn’t become popular until around the Industrial Revolution, when the ingredients started to become more plentiful.

Lightning often follows a volcanic eruption due to the friction between particles of the dense ash clouds that are formed as a result of the eruption. When the particles rub together, the charges inside the ash clouds begin to separate. The resulting charge buildup generates lightning strikes from the volcano itself not the sky above.

📌Let's explain it with a classic example theorists use.Assume there are 2 ice-cream vendors, A and B on a 1 km long beach, both looking to increase their revenue.Initially, they set up their stalls 250m from the middle, on opposite sides. A gets all the customers to its left, B gets all the customers to its right, and the ones in the middle are split 50/50.
📌So both A & B get 50% of the customers. But B is not satisfied. The next day, B shifts his stall to the exact middle, while A remains at the same spot. Now B gets 62.5% of the customers & A gets just 37.5%.So the next day, A also moves his stall to the middle of the beach. Now both get 50% of the customers, but more importantly neither of them can change their position to get more customers.
