You already know what an infinitive is.
French verbs in infinitive come in 3 groups.
🔅 Verbs of the first group end with -ER.
(parler, habiter, marcher, penser, aimer, regarder…)
🔅 Verbs of the second group end in -IR.
(finir, grandir, rougir…)
🔅 The verbs of the third group are the most difficult to conjugate.
They may end in -ER, -IR, -RE, -OIR and others
(aller, sortir, prendre, voir, faire, avoir, être…)
The rules for conjugation of verbs depend on which group they belong to.

The correct literary form is
