Yet another week and both overall and recent reviews fell again. It may eventually get into an overwhelmingly negative area: 10% lost since December 25, another 8% and it will get the new status.

Can I kindly remind you that Road to Vostok (#Godot4 game) demo is available now for free on Steam?
It's a #TacticalShooter with modern weapons and swappable weapons upgrades. Currently it's a pre-alpha, but it's worth trying. In the demo you can even change seasons and time of day (and it works seamlessly).

One small hint for 3D modellers: if you are hosting your art on any stock website, the default option is usually to allow AI to train on your art (both 2D and 3D).
This one on the screenshot is CGTrader, but all of them do it unless you specify on each post that training is restricted.

A mix of #Raycasting and GPU rendering in Macroquad (by my brother). He is a huge fan of making some crazy concepts just to check if they are possible.

Apex Legends is the top grossing game on Steam in 2023. The same year EA shut down the studio ported it to mobile platforms and fired the majority of QA from the main studio.

And now The Outer Worlds is free on Epic Store! One of the last RPG where you can kill everyone (including characters who are fairly important to the story).

Ghostwire Tokyo is free on Epic Games Store (for one day only) — one of my most favorite games due to memorable side quests and worldbuilding.

Guardians of the Galaxy is free on Epic Store! The game is not following the movies timeline, so it worth trying even if you have seen them.

Very nice explanation of small but crucial details of player controller in the FPS game made with #Unity:

A great question about immersion that also works for games: how to make fake things believable up to the point where the viewer can almost touch it?
Jokes aside: Star Wars Jedi game series do this very well, the original scrapyard level is one of the best opening that provides proper establishment for characters and location.

This is ridiculous: Starfield just won the Steam Awards for "Innovative Gameplay".
Has anyone seen the gameplay?! How's it innovative? 😑
The number of negative reviews increased because of that.
⭐ Happy New Year, folks!
I'm truly glad to see you all here and wish you all the best in 2024. No doubt, there will be more amazing games to play, handy tools to speed up our work, controversies to gossip about and memes to laugh. And I will be there to keep you informed!

This is one of the sides I managed to achieve while being a game producer: people were not always happy (it's software development anyway), but they were excited. And this mood helps to achieve more!
But unlike movies in games development it can be achieved by three elements:
– "Sell" the game vision to you team (which means there's a vision and there's a market for it)
– Provide them with tasks that match their skills the best
– Provide them with tasks that look impossible (but you know achievable). And be there when these tasks are not going well.
Challenges will extend their skills, cause you will never have enough people for complicated tasks. Basic ones will make them feel secure. And the overall vision will help them feel traction and their role in each milestone.

And Starfield finally fell into mostly negative reviews – only 37% of recent players supported the game.
For me the issue isn't just about loading screens, it was a bland and heartless project in terms of writing, voices, quests in general and even usage of features that are in the game but somehow never used in missions.
Sadly, I'm not expecting changes in Bethesda management, they will just fire some low/medium tier workers for this failure.
