It seems that XDefiant #FPS is a huge success for #Ubisoft — the game got its first million players in a couple of hours with peak online over 500K. Three million people played it in less than 48 hours.
This number appeared to be a surprise for the publisher and it took them 10 hours to increase the server's capacity to match the audience. The results are almost as good as they were for Apex Legends in 2019 (and EA provided an intense marketing campaign for it, while Ubisoft were skeptical).

Someone discovered that the famous backrooms photo was indeed real and was taken in Wisconsin during the renovation process (they rebuild HobbyTown into RC race track), it was taken in 2002.
There are dozens of older shots of this location and they are fairly generic though.
Imagine that you're a construction company worker and your cheap shot to prove that the work is going well becomes a genre of games 20 years later.

Fun fact: Melina Juergens was a video editor and animator in the studio. She accidentally became a test subject for their new motion capture systems before they will hire a real actress. But instead her performance of Senua got so good they had to promote her to be the protagonist.
She won BAFTA for the original game without previous acting experience.

Doge passed away 🐶
Her real name was Kabosu, she was a pet of Japanese kindergarten teacher for over 18 years (which is a lot for any Inu dog).
At two years old the famous photo was taken and became viral several years later. The Doge became a meme and even cryptocurrency, but got cancer a couple of years ago.
Her memorial stays at her hometown in Japan and the owner even dropped a funeral meeting in her honor.

Hellblade II has been released and the game... has a forced aspect ratio of about 2.39:1, which means you will have black bars on a typical 16:9 or 16:10 screen. Please, smack whoever decided it's a good idea.
The game was already selling poorly and reviews noticed there's even less gameplay and more cinematics. It's almost a walking simulator with five puzzles along the way.
