At least someone is doing great: #Roblox shared some of their stats:
- DAU (Daily Active Users): 79.5 million, of which 46.4 million (58.4%) are over 13 years old, 32.4 million (40.8%) are 13 or younger, and for 0.7 million, the age couldn't be determined.
- Audience growth: Over the year, the DAU for the 13+ audience grew by 10 million, and the 13 or younger audience grew by 4.2 million.
- Interestingly, until about 2023, Roblox provided a more detailed age breakdown, not just for those 13 years old.
Why is the age "13 years" important?
The age threshold of "13 years" is taken from the COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) in the USA, which restricts the collection of personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Approximately a quarter of Roblox's audience is in the USA, making compliance with this law critically important. In 2022, Epic Games paid a fine of $275 million for violating this law.

🔥 Deadlock just saved my GPU kinda (and this may also help you)
The game made my PC go nuts every few minutes — some fans were blowing at max speed and I thought it's CPU, since GPU can't overheat at 70, right? Wrong!
So I opened up Afterburner to use temps overlay: around 70 on both CPU and GPU, nothing unexpected. Instead, I decided to check GPU-Z that has GPU Hot Spot which was… 105C, over 30 degrees higher than on average, on 3060 Ti with three fans. Not what I expected!
Took the cooler off, thermal compound was solid and dried out completely. Cleaned up, repasted into MX4, now the Hot Spot is only 85 while the average is about 60-65.
Which means: if Deadlock makes your PC go crazy in terms of fan speed, check both CPU and GPU, and check it with utilities that can see Hot Spot, since average can be fine. Valve know how to utilize every molecule of your GPU and it will heat it up.

Class action lawsuits are very often a good thing for customers:
In 2022, Apple agreed to pay a $50 million dollar settlement for certain eligible 2015-2019 MacBook owners who experienced problems with their butterfly keyboards. The claims process opened in late 2022, and the settlement got final approval last May. Starting today, eligible MacBook owners are finally receiving their payouts (up to $395 per person).
Butterfly was the technology to make keyboards exceptionally thin but also fragile — some keys may stop working after a few weeks of careful usage. Apple stopped using them in 2019, but for the first few years of complaints folks from Cupertino blamed users and rejected warranty requests.

The Intel story is unveiling rapidly: they are now getting rid of 15-19K employees and will stop all non-essential work. Which may or may not mean that 13/14-gen issues will hit them hard this year... and they decided to prepare for the collapse.
The whole gaming industry lost about 20-25K people in 2023 and Intel is aiming to cut up to 19K (out of 125K).
