It was pretty bad, to be honest. I mean, it was good for the time, but even as of when I tried it in the early 2000s, it was way past its prime and not at all convincing. If I remember correctly, the whole system was XML-based. You could program it to respond in a certain way to certain types of queries. So theoretically, with enough time and resources, you could put together something pretty convincing.

Читать полностью…Once I wrote a YouTube interface using ChatGPT's help, as I have very little experience with JavaScript. Because I didn't want it to know much more than what I told you now about it, each of us used divergent codebases. What I copied from it were functions, that then had to be massaged a bit into my own code. This way, I didn't have to disclose specific details and I maintained some visibility over what the code was doing and why.
Because of that, I will admit that coding with AI assistance does have some uses. If you're already a developer that understands programming, then you could use it as a translation layer of sorts. And you'd be more or less fine-ish. Still though, I won't claim to understand even that little project of mine enough to be able to properly maintain it. Even for those who understand the subject matter in general, that could be a significant pitfall. And for those who don't.. let's not pretend that an AI can just make "facebook but better" for you...
Hello everyoneee, I am conducting an academic research about smart hubs and was really interested in everyone’s opinion here I will share with you a link that contains a few questions and your input would be very appreciated please note you don’t necessarily need to include your email if you are not comfortable doing so :) thank you so much

I procrastinated my semiconductor courses by learning computer architecture and reverse engineering, which ironically helped me pocket all the interviews lmao

Looking at their website though, it seems that they do have support for both Android and iOS. Maybe I should try it too, I use primarily an iPhone for photos but don't exactly trust iCloud either... And iTunes is, well.. iTunes. About as good for file management as iOS' Files app is.
Читать полностью…Can't say much about Immich, but I do run Samba over VPNs to get my files from abroad. Network stability would be my primary concern, as would upload speed where you intend to host that server (most residential connections are asymmetric in favour of download). But after that, the rest does boil down to how stable that server software is, and how well it integrates with your mobile devices. Android being the only thing involved certainly makes things a bit easier there, but it's still an entire ecosystem. Adding Apple devices into the mix however... Both have their pros and cons, but putting them together is a challenge, even for something "simple" like Samba...

The sound that comes in hits the rigid structure, and gets attenuated. The rigid plastic structure reverberates it into a wow-like constant sound.
Drilling from the top is what gave me my unique sound profile. Even my mechanical keyboard (brown switches) sounds more high-pitched, hitting-a-piece-of-glass-like. That's because it has to bounce from the ceiling first.
Those are the kinds of twists I'd like to discuss here. Would this be the chat for that?
Wow, long time no see! How would you describe your memories of using it? I'm interested in it because of how AI is being used today — so many breathless zealots tripping over their wallets while trying to implement it in just about everything. And those using it as non-developers seem to struggle with identifying its limitations too. My now ex, formerly partner of 4 years, mentioned that in her university (civil engineering), there's quite a few classmates that swear by its unwavering correctness. That's something that concerns me.
Once I gave ChatGPT a question about wiring an LED string, clearly stating that the string was parallel, not series. Yet all of the calculations it made were for (I guess more common?) series strings. So everything that followed that mistaken branch, had to be corrected or.. just never identified as such in the first place. Or hearing about cases where lawyers were (rightfully) disbarred because they used non-existent AI-generated cases as case law... What if the judge didn't notice in time?
By the way, have you guys ever heard of the Eliza effect? The other day I was reading about it on Wikipedia, and what I found honestly frightened me. Apparently ELIZA was a program written in the 1960s, to serve as a primitive chatterbot. But despite that simplicity (more or less rephrasing inputs into questions), many people still grew emotional attachment to it. That went on, to the point that even his own secretary told him once to "leave the room, so she could have a real conversation with ELIZA instead"...

Residential connections usually have a dynamic IP address, which you can kind of address with dynamic DNS (e.g. DuckDNS). But I wouldn't recommend it. What I went with instead is renting some VPS's (mine are from Hetzner, 2x CX11), and then running WireGuard services there. That gives a direct connection to the Internet, a static IP, and the ability to run authoritative DNS servers to keep things organized.

And pressure inside that earmuff, that can remain equal to ambient. But with those 3mm holes, I suppose those could substitute as hearing membranes using sticky tape. The amount of movement those are subjected to during one's day-to-day movements is nuts! So uh, leave a breathing hole for when you do this while moving your head or eating. Lower skull does a fair amount of displacement when it moves!
