We consider #Mapflow a collaborative tool for teams that manage large mapping projects. Now any Mapflow user can create a new Team. 👨🔧 👨🔧 👨🔧
Once the Team is created, you can invite new members and assign and manage their limits.
The Team Admin is able to assign the limits to the Team members within the remaining balance.
You can share your project with anyone in the Team and assign his role as needed.
Even if you work in a small team it will power your workflow and make it more efficient.

Geoalert has become a sponsor and we will also conduct a #Mapflow AI workshop on the second day of the conference.
Come by if you are around. The participation in the conference and workshops is free. 👈
Shared projects are now supported in the #Mapflow plugin for #QGIS. If you are a #Team user and others share with you, you might see the warning and be limited with the project use depending on the role assigned to you by the Project owner.
Read more about the Team accounts and the project sharing or reach out to us if you need to set up a new Team. 👈
The developers of Spatial Manager for AutoCAD (the popular plugin to manage geodata in #AutoCAD and other CAD tools) share the use case of importing and visualizing #Mapflow AI results with their software.
In conjunction, Mapflow and Spatial Manager products can bring AI imagery analysis directly to your CAD projects:
- Mapflow generates vector data from aerial images
- Spatial Manager integrates the vector data into your CAD platform

Mapflow is often used by corporate users who juggle multiple accounts or share a single account within their team.
While we've been keen on implementation of some collaborative tools to encourage corporate users to create team accounts, we started with team balance. It allows Team Owner to share credits with the team members and manage the balance.
What’s New?
Today we're thrilled to announce a major update that takes team collaboration to the next level by providing the Project sharing functionality to all Mapflow users.
The workflow is pretty simple:
1) You can share your project with anyone in the Team and assign his role as needed.
✍️ Note, if you don't have a Team account you can also share your project with anyone but with read-only rights. So the other user won't be able to run the workflows but to see the history and preview the results on the map.
#Docs: Note that in the #Maplfow 2.0 release we have joined all the platform’s APIs. To help active users manage their workflows, the projects created in Mapflow Web are temporarily marked with the label "WEB".
All the projects are accessible using any client's applications powered by Mapflow API (including Mapflow-#QGIS plugin).
Islamabad, Pakistan. Dense buildings. (User's #feedback ⭐️).
Note that you can leave us feedback by simply rating your results. We review user's scores and get back.
The next upcoming release – we called it "Mapflow 2.0".🙏
It may sound a bit pretentious but it is a really deep and essential modification of the platform, so it is worth the name.
Historically the #Mapflow Web App was designed as a light version for demonstrative and evaluation purposes. But as the platform evolves and the Web application has been used by most of the users we decided to move it to the same backend which powers Mapflow #API for enterprise clients and integrations.
Internally, that means a lot of work to consolidate the applications, joining their database and functionality.
Now Mapflow users can switch smoothly between the Web app and #QGIS (let’s say you need professional tools for some of your analysis), without losing the progress or capabilities.
And it indicates much better performance of analysis for some web users who have large areas of analysis.
But what is even more important, this update opens the gate for faster implementation of the new functionality we have ready-to-deploy, so our next updates won't make you wait for a long time.
There are some highlights you might consider as a better user experience following this upcoming release of Mapflow 2.0:
- Run analysis without the limitation to the area size
- Run multiple AOIs in a single processing
- Team creation and management
- Sharing your projects with other users – inside and outside the team
- Enhanced capabilities of your own data upload and management
And many more to come. Stay tuned for the updates. 😊😊😊
Today we launched a PoC project with geocloud.work to provide Mapflow-QGIS through the #Geocloud's geospatial software marketplace.
Mapflow-QGIS is a preinstalled plugin for #QGIS to leverage geospatial imagery segmentation and classification with #Mapflow AI.
The PoC project aims to collect more evidence about using remote infrastructure while Mapflow is connected as an external instance. So users pay for uptime and virtual machine configuration in Geocloud. Mapflow credits are used to run the analysis (each user gets 250 credits for free upon registration).
However, the deeper integration by running the Mapflow AI on Geocloud's instances requires more effort and will make sense after collecting more evidence and requests from the clients.
The essential point is that you can configure VM with different licensing and free software to work in a single workspace.
Follow our guide on how to run Mapflow-QGIS in Geocloud. Contact us if you have any feedback or requests.

As we started experimenting with the segment-anything model in Mapflow we provided users with the "zoom" option because interpretation by the model depends on the input resolution and the window size.
Here is a good explanation of how the results may vary depending on the zoom level (zoom 18 - user rated ⭐️ VS zoom 16 - user rated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️).
👉 BTW thanks to all who rate the results - we are trying to reach out to anyone if we know the way to improve.
Mapping scenarios featuring several AI models makes your analytics more accurate and cost-effective.
E.g. #Mapflow enterprise solution for #Telco maps leverages combo scenario for “3D building footprints” and “Forest with heights” models - https://geoalert.io/solutions/telecom.
Our clients also use other combinations like we told here about pvDesign use case.
Sharing more visual interpretations:
1. “Forest with heights” for fast and accurate research and design before the installation of solar panels.
2. Audit of already installed panels.
BTW. Total area of solar panels from the imagery - 9.53 Ha (Hall Farm Solar, Northwold, UK). 👆
In Geoalert we developed a specific model to outline the oil spills using #SAR imagery (#Sentinel-1). We used the datasets created by the team of Transparent World - Caspian project. They monitor oil pollution in the area of the #Caspian Sea and post alerts through the telegram bot.
The model has been implemented into #Mapflow platform to help the Transparent World team partly automate the mapping work and analysis.

But here comes the funny story - while we were doing small research about the relation of the thermal spots to the active mining farms we came across the quotation illustrating that there is a huge trend in the industry:
This used to be a pig farm, but now we're mining Bitcoin
🤔 Let's start a new #GeoQUIZ dedicated to the first day of the #30DayMapChallenge, which opens with the classical topic of Points.
Here's the map after doing some #research on the potential project.
Try to guess: What is this construction for and what are the points on the map?
As usual, the users who send us the correct answers (hello@geoalert.io) will be awarded the $50 #Mapflow promocode.
New #userguide – How to check images metadata in the 🌏 Global mosaic
Not every imagery basemap contains metadata (the description and the cutlines of the single images it's composed of). #Mapbox Satellite for example doesn't support an API to search for the metadata so there is no specific information about the image capturing date.
New commercial 🌏 Global mosaic is an annually updated satellite imagery composite covering most of the World. The mosaic is composed of "Jilin" Chinese satellites imagery (RGB, 0.75–0.5 m/px). The preview is limited to zoom 12.
The past month was quite usually busy for the Geoalert team.
1) We finished #Mapflow 2.0 and Project sharing milestones (w/o the Team billing so far which will arrive next)
2) -2 team members and +2 team members: Hrant and Manap. So the #team size remains stable )) We are looking for more people to join our team in November-December but the hiring process is not going so fast
3) We started planning our next team and partner #meeting this year, stay tuned 📢📢📢
4) We keep working on custom projects: good progress with the implementation, low progress with the storytelling about the project results. Couldn't we update our blog more frequently?
Here we'd like to highlight that the validation speed of the Mapflow custom project results has increased x3 times, if not more. This showcases the effective human-in-the-loop validation where we use our own platform, while cartographers use automatic results and improve them.
5) We have too many milestones in progress and keep underestimating our timeline with the internal product releases. Not so cool.
6) We started doing yet another collaboration with the data provider partners and made some plans before the end of the year - to be announced later on. This time it's not like some developers <> big guys on behalf of the provider, but more like a partnership and investment initiative. We will see.
🇰🇿 Registration for #GIS Day #conference, Kazakhstan is open. It will take place at Satbayev University, Almaty, on November 21-22. We are supporting the development and promotion of GIS technologies in Central Asia (and we don't stick to ArcGIS technologies at the same time!) so we look forward to participating in and supporting the event.

Some visual reports from #intergeo – the leading geotech #Expo in Europe.
The main results of my ground survey are that no expo in Germany works without beer 🍺 (confirmed by Natasha from @cartetika_channel).
Geoalert was featured at the #Geocloud's booth as we've configured Mapflow–QGIS to be used with their virtual instances.
I've met with the data partners – those we have long-term cooperation with and those, with whom we've just started conceptualizing and discussing the new products. 🤝
AI, #GeoAI, Mapping AI, whatever you call it, is a hot topic, yeah. Even though I missed most of the presentations at the open stage I've come across a few amazing and meaningful collaborations between AI developers and Geospatial survey companies.
Very few software startups were presented. The reason number one – the event is occupied by vendors. The next reason... well, check the #Cesium-acquired-by-Bentley's booth. You know, when there are guys with aerial drones, airships and robodogs who are carrying the preinstalled geodesic equipment it doesn’t make a great impression to showcase your slides on a plasma. 😅
